I’ve been paying attention.  Trust me.  Reagor at 21 was too high.

So every draft person I've read said that he went about where he should and he would not have lasted much longer if at all from all the rumors out there. Why have you dug your heels in on this?

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Out of all of our WRs which are likely to play the slot?

There was 4 WR’s worth a 1st round pick to me. He was one of them. I was on the fence about Jefferson.

Fine with the draft. CB will be interesting.  Final thoughts:

- Will Slay live up to the #1 CB void that we’ve been trying to fill for years?

- Sidney Jones vs Maddox for CB #2 should be a nice TC battle

- Will Reagor pan out? Justin Jefferson was a sure fire pick. If Reagor has a slow year 1 and Jefferson doesn’t miss a beat the pitchforks will be out.

- I don’t see any competition for Greg Ward. I think he has the slot position locked down. Doug mentioned him specifically in his press conference today as well in a positive fashion.

- I still don’t agree with drafting Hurts unless Doug thinks Hurts is a better prospect then Wentz to run his offensive vision due to Hurts’ athletic ability.  Even that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Wentz is mobile, he just chooses not to run as often anymore to protect himself.

Backup QB is important, and the drop off from Hurts to Eason/Fromm must have been big enough in Howies eyes that he had to pull the trigger in the 2nd round. Hurts is a good teammate. But he’s also an alpha leader.  You really hope the locker room doesn’t become fractured at all.

Definitely glad they got Wentz some weapons. Won't lie I wanted mims over hurts but can see his value if wentz goes down again. All in all feel Howie did a decent job

I’m going with the assumption that there’s a reason they drafted Hurts that we don’t know. If that’s true, this is a great draft. I loved Reagor and today was fantastic. Assuming Hurts was calculated based on inside information, it was a great draft. Hopefully though, they didn’t have reason to doubt Wentz’s future and they just made a dumb pick at 53 out of arrogance. In that case, it was a decent draft. I couldn’t be much happier with day 1 and 3. Day two fell exactly how I wanted and we passed on everyone I would have been happy with and went for a head scratcher. If Wentz plays here for 5-10 years and stays mostly healthy, that pick has little chance of bringing any return and was a waste of draft capital. But if Wentz gets another concussion and retires in a year or two, this might be the greatest draft in my lifetime, regardless of outcome. Just based on potential and information available to the FO at the time. The Jalen Hurts pick is bad based on what the fans know. But if Wentz has told the team he’s a concussion away from packing it in, the Hurts pick makes sense and makes this draft impeccable as far as I’m concerned. It comes down to why they decided to draft Hurts at the earliest he was projected when they had other needs. Either they’re delusional, or they know something we don’t. Round 1, Slay for a third, and 4-7 were as good as I could ask for. I can’t imagine the same guys responsible for that could be so asinine in Rd 2 unless they think they need a backup plan more than just for emergencies

If you personally don’t like him and wouldn’t take him there, understood. But I think he was going in the first round no matter what, and I don’t see the argument it’s a reach. San Fran traded most of their draft to trade up for Aiyuk at 25. Higgins and Pitman went 33 and 34. I have a hard time seeing Reagor going into the 2nd round.

Ward and whiteside for sure. The others can probably move around as needed but those 2 should probably stick there

Watching Greg Ward highlights at 4 am. Hope he gets every chance to keep his roster spot. He's earned it.

As I said earlier, look at our 10 player draft class. Flip Wallace and Hurts' draft spots and no one bats an eye. Its an all around awesome looking athletic class.

I dont think so. Thatd be a good add.

I fully believe the Hurts pick was the plan all along. This guy isn't some slouch either. Doug seemed very excited. If it was then they had a great draft. Today was impressive.

Plus the rest of our haul and I've have been pretty stoked about our draft class. We've been pretty good with our 2nd rounders, a [seemingly] solid day 3 just can't take the sting away from that. We have a ton of needs and that one will sicken me for years unless Wentz gets unfortunately hurt and Hurts turns into the next Russell Wilson or something.

If the plan is to utilize him as not only the 2nd QB has to used similar to Bowden but as an option RB. Not as fast as Bowden but a much better passer. DJax, Reagor or whoever opening up the field and Hurts causing pause either picks his lane or hits the open receiver. If he is just going to be an insurance policy would be a poor investment at least this year and probably next. They know this too so my only concern is if Wentz has expressed his weariness regarding his health. I’ll think positive that the plan is truly to open up the field opposite of that cluster F last season ... WRETCHED

Small back but ultra explosive and possibly the fastest RB in college football.  Rumored to have run a 4.27.  Was not invited to combine and has a chip on his shoulder with something to prove.....

WOWwwww ! NICE and against decent competion

They wanted to draft a QB. Perhaps one was surprisingly sniped from them in round 2.

Whoa.

I'm starting to think it might be steal due to the pandemic. 4.2 players built like him don't fall in drafts. He is a freak athlete. The 2017 and 2018 film look great.

He reminds me Steve Smith. Tcu didn't have him run a ton of different routes. He was grossly misused. Coach even admitted it.

I think he could be Tyreek Hill of the NFC. He has that potential. Him and Desean will be a nightmare.

Would be nice if the infusion of speed can help keep Desean's legs fresh this season to finish out his contract on a re-worked deal for next.  I know he'll be 35 but I love the dude and he got the juice.

i think Rambo WR from OKLA might end up being better then Lamb

Well that was an exciting Day 3! We're certainly fast. If I'm nitpicking then I'd have liked a bit more variety at WR but I suppose the two studs we have at TE means you can go more speed demon at WR?

You finally get out of bed?

Dave's answers are pretty much "I don't know "

Killins looks like what they expected Pumphreys to be.

OMG Killens looks legit

Get used to it.  Howie is in charge now. We are drafting athletes and speed. No more high production college players with low upside.

That was exactly my thought. This draft class has a lot of athletes and speed but is very raw. It’s on the coaches now.

I figured as much but your groupings were or have the potential of being spot on.

That part was true.  The idea of just always trading away the second pick was not.

I know the birds do their homework on character, so hopefully these kids put in the time on their own now till organized activity can happen.
