It's worth noting that Jason Peters still doesn't have a job.

That tells you what the rest of the NFL thinks of what's left of him.

He may have to retire.

Bring him back (as a coach) to learn under Stout, to work with Prince,  and to keep Elliott in line.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Random thoughts-

Pederson mentioned Ward as one of the guys to lean on since we have a irregular preseason. I wouldn’t go as far as saying he’s s lock of course, but wouldn’t be surprised to see him stick.

I still don’t trust Jones. Would expect Maddox to win the job and be serviceable. Can see a scenario where we ask Mills to shift back to outside CB if either Maddox or Slay get hurt. I think he’d do fine opposite Slay with more safety help.

JJAW is likely to make the team but not a lock imo. It felt to me his head was spinning too much that it hindered him. He has enough athleticism to be average on the outside, but needs to have his routes clear, playbook down, clean up his footwork and then hopefully play with urgency. If he’s still lost out there I would strongly consider moving on.

I'm starting to think it might be steal due to the pandemic. 4.2 players built like him don't fall in drafts. He is a freak athlete. The 2017 and 2018 film look great.

He reminds me Steve Smith. Tcu didn't have him run a ton of different routes. He was grossly misused. Coach even admitted it.

I think he could be Tyreek Hill of the NFC. He has that potential. Him and Desean will be a nightmare.

I think Brandon cooks is a good comp.

That was exactly my thought. This draft class has a lot of athletes and speed but is very raw. It’s on the coaches now.

Your thoughts on Tega, if his knee is not a major concern?

Glad you brought this up.  If Alshon is on PUP, I'm rooting for JJAW to develop for obvious reasons and also to give our corners meaningful reps against different types of receives in practice.  Still gotta prepare for the likes of Mike Evans, Julio, Michael Thomas.....Metcalf and slot monsters like Keenan Allen.  Love the burners we have/drafted but hoping we can find a way to round it out for their sake.

So Joe is gone, and the entire way we evaluate talent changed. Yeah...

How about all the trades this year? Howie wasn't able to do as much with Joe. This year Howie was off the leash.

Toohills neck beard growing ability might be my fav part of this draft.

Howie is in control of the roster. He wasn’t at the mercy of Douglas. That’s a cop out.

Nah

Really good feet, I mean exceptional. Terrible technique, looks like a bird the way he flaps his arms. Just as raw as he can be but a very good athlete. Needs a year in the weight room and a lot of coaching but he’s got the coach. Has a chance to be very good. The proverbial high ceiling low floor.

Recorded the draft today and just spent the last 4 hours watching it and reading through around 75 pages of the Blog. Well done, gents. Had to skip over a bunch of posts from some poster that wants to have sex with the Cowboys, got progressively weirder and more obsessive as the day went on.

Anyways, loved what they did today and echo most in here. Swap the Hurts pick, or even just rejig the order and choose him later, and there isn’t much of a blemish in the entire group. Factor in Slay and Goodwin’s new deal and that’s impressive as hell. And even the UDFA class looks like it could have some gems. Holy **** is Killins fast.

Last note - many were ragging on the ESPN coverage all day, and I totally agree, but the worst offense to me was only listing Slay and NRC on the continually-displayed Eagles’ 2020 acquisitions graphic. How the f/ck is Hargrave not included? DT is going to be an absolute monster group this year.

They were too busy lining up celebrity sing alongs to worry about silly stuff like that.

I always defer to you on OL (and most player) evals. Agree a lot here, though. I saw the same with the feet. They’re really good by any account. I mentioned he had problems with his hand usage, but you make it sound much direr. I hope that can be trained and works out because that agility can’t be taught.

I saw him struggle some in the run game. Down to technique?

fwiw I’m really excited we got him so late.

Ooh ish yeah I'd freaking love that. Howie would go some way to redeeming himself. Fantasy land that though.

Still catching up, this thread exploded.

You've been banging this drum non-stop. Do you believe Howie operates in a vacuum? Do you think the Draft is a result of unilateral decisions he makes with no input from any other front office personnel or coaches? Do you think Howie sets the Eagles Draft board himself while Doug and Co. sit on their back decks watching rain fall?

You seem to.

Maybe it is a collaborative effort and Howie is just carrying out his marching orders.

Would you entertain that possibility?

Wanting Jefferson over reagor I get for some.
Crying over mims I don’t. He was a late 2nd pick from the start and there was a reason he was the last wr taken during the run.

Hypothetically if ALL these track stars we just just got in the draft and UDFA somehow made the team, who would be the PR and/or KR?

I'd love to see Killins on returns.

If I’m Alshon, not sure I even want to be traded anymore. The threat of all that speed if used effectively will draw attention up top. The player expected to replace me looked lost. The amount and quality of my opportunities just improved.

Next is a little bit cynical, but well, if I have issues with Carson, and see the team draft a qb so early, I mean it does get me thinking

Hi greend!

Lol with the timzone difference it's more like early to bed and early awake😋

How've you been? Doing well I hope?

And you congrats on you homer post.

Not arguing here because I skipped so many posts the past few days. Who did you prefer at 21? Or you wishing we would have traded up?

They wanted to draft a QB. Perhaps one was surprisingly sniped from them in round 2.

Whoa.

Not a bad landing spot for a guy who likely sees himself as a starter, but getting no starting option.  Prove himself like Bridgewater if Brees goes down, and then maybe turn himself into the heir apparent when he walks away.  I think this is Brees' last rodeo.

I do wish that during the convo on the pick you would have acknowledged that a few of us wanted Reagor all along, even before the selection. You kept on saying that we were rationalizing the pick after the fact, which wasn’t accurate across the board. In fact I think most understood why we picked him over Jefferson. If you don’t like the pick that’s fine, but don’t lump any of us into group think just because you don’t like it.

That made the convo around the pick very difficult for me to have with you

He’s exceptionally fast.

What nobody else laughed at this? Underrated post @eagle45

Very true... but if Prince can step in at either of these OT positions, that makes things easier to move on from either if needed.

(I really like Prince and see him as a potential starting OT.)

I actually don't understand how he fell that far.   When you look at his frame, his athleticism, his production, and the level he played at (SEC) that says Top 85 pick in almost every draft.   So I really have to wonder how bad his knee injury is.   Has the pandemic really prevented teams from getting accurate medical diagnosis?    I kind of find that hard to believe.

I hope the Eagles can get him back to full health.  If they do he could be their 3rd best OT easily.   And as you said, he definitely has starting potential (if healthy).

I know the birds do their homework on character, so hopefully these kids put in the time on their own now till organized activity can happen.

One of the pillars for the draft seemed to be 'does he love football'?  If you get a guy who loves football, they are going to do 'football things' in their free time.  If you get a guy who loves 'the lifestyle that football stardom affords them', they are likely going to be getting fat and lazy on the couch.  Trust an expert on the latter. ;)

Given everything going on with the pandemic and abbreviated OTAs, TC, PS, etc.

How hard could it/would it be for the NFL and NFLPA to negotiate an expanded roster and expanded PS this year?  Maybe just go to the new rules for the 2021 roster starting in 2020?  That would give 2 extra spots on the roster and a few more on the PS to mitigate cuts a little with less than ideal information.
