Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Thanks to you both for drawing to my attention.   Lost in a lot of the Founding Fathers rhetoric is that many were amongst the richest in their colonies and most owned slaves. We have evolved past the days when only white, male landowners could vote.

Yes now everyone can vote yet the only votes that matter are by those with enough money to buy politicians and influence policy. Evolution😒

maybe a long shot but this might be a UDFA im rooting for to make the team.

Should have just signed Tate and not Hurts

Completely forgot that Khalil Tate existed.

THAT is the kind of guy who you build a Taysom HIll role for.

It's not a debacle though...  Its just not where we all assumed the Eagles would go with that pick.  BLGs whole perspective, without reading the article, is in the wrong place from beginning to end.  The Eagles like Hurts, they want a multi year backup they can possibly flip for more picks.

What you,  I or the media think or hot take on, is irrelevant, no matter how many Twitter handle changes they make or silly GIFs they create.  DPs reaction says all you need to know about the pick.

If Hurts has to come in and win games, I bet those same idiots in the media who are mocking the pick now will be purring with delight.

love or hate the hurts pick, the one thing we can all agree on is that in 2017, 2018, and 2019 carson did not end the season under center.  call it bad luck, it is what it is.

we CANNOT rely on the sudfelds and mccowns of the world.  foles played out of his mind, but that is not the norm.  if for some unfortunate reason carson goes down again, we need another dynamic guy under center to continue running the sort of plays that push the ball down the field, like carson would.  we need the legs to pick up the first down on the ground, like carson would.  we need the skillset which can give us what carson would, if he's not on the field.

unfortunately, that does not come without an investment.  we could get a guy in the later rounds, but would you really want to put that on another "clayton thorson"?  a guy who ultimately did not make the team?

carson is the franchise, but having all the amazing things he brings on the field has also come with knowing it could vanish with one unlucky play.  howie and doug support wentz, it's why they gave him a call before making the pick.  but they also knew to be a successful team, the qb position cannot skip a beat if carson isn't under center.

Yes, local power is derived from the states. That's how the practice was derived from the theory. However, the theory of limited power in government goes from individuals - local government - states - federal.

But that is not the reality in this Republic.  Power was granted by "we the people” to form a union.  Interstate and international governance is governed by the federal government.  Local governance is from the states down. The bill of rights preserves levels of self governance for the people. Madison, the father of the Constitution, insisted on that. Hamilton thought it unnecessary.  Hamilton was wrong.

Since you seem to be a supporter of individual rights, I gather you are a vocal proponent of opening the ratification period for the Equal Rights Amendment, now that Virginia has endorsed it so it can become part of the Constitution.  Only been waiting 97 years.

You said it better than I’ve been able to

Looks to have some speed and good hands and body control now the question will be can he get off the press and can he run nfl routes against nfl corners?

Funny how the EMB can more articulately provide sound reasoning than the folks actually making the decision.

This makes sense and is why they made the decision. That Seattle loss was the last straw: they very likely thought that game was winnable with a capable QB.

The Blog has always gone off topic. I have been posting with Afan and JR (and others) on these sort of discussions for about fifteen or twenty years.  Both are very well read on history. It is never going to CVON. Religion and attacks on family we have all agreed are off limits.   Pretty much everything else within reason can be discussed here. Always has

If the Hurts pick was motivated by the Seattle game, then it is an even more questionable descision.

You have to look at the circumstances of the Seattle game. McCown was thrown in there with little to no preparation. If he had a week to prepare, the results may have been better.

Tate is a camp arm, probably on the recommendation from McNabb.

Not interested. I like the guys we have here.

There were few RBs I wanted in this years draft compared to recent drafts. But Warren was one of them.

Scott is pretty well proven at this point. And if Killins is good enough to beat him out then that means Killins is looking evey bit as amazing as his youtube highlights.

Well I’m in no way satisfied with what we got. Backing up Sanders we got Scott who looked good for 4-5 games and a bunch of UDFAs. YouTube highlights don’t do it for me.

Bring in a vet and if those guys beat him out, fine. But right now there’s almost zero experience behind Sanders.

I agree with all of that. Again, that is how the theory was practically applied. As for the Equal Rights Act, we already have the 14th Amendment

if highlights dont do it for you then watch more...

That can largely be fixed with a Constitutional amendment that 1) Corporations are not "persons” under the meaning of that word in the Constitution and 2) free speech as broadcast is not anonymous.  PAC and such must disclose donors.

Right that’s why he got drafted so high... oh wait he didn’t get drafted at all.

Where were you when Payton decided to pay $21M for Taysom Hill?  Tate throws less picks than Winston, too

I have never understood this corporations are persons nonsense. If a corporation violates the law, can it be sent to prison?

Washed up vets at RB are a good way to pay too much for mediocre RB play.

Neither did Brieda, Mostert, Arian Foster.... should I keep going? You know theres a reason why those vets arent signed too, right?

You want mediocre RB play or to be in a situation like 2018 when you’re stuck in a bad RB situation.
