😂😂 Almost a 74% completion percentage, 82 TDs, 17 interceptions, and over 11,000 yards. Yeah man he’s pretty shot.

Reading comprehension....the year Peyton smashed all those records his arm was done by week 15.  Brees has been much the same as the season has wore on the past few years.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

That can largely be fixed with a Constitutional amendment that 1) Corporations are not "persons” under the meaning of that word in the Constitution and 2) free speech as broadcast is not anonymous.  PAC and such must disclose donors.

Exactly

I don't think there is a Goodwin thread yet, is there?

They posted a video on YouTube, super up close if anyone likes that kind of thing..

It's not a debacle though...  Its just not where we all assumed the Eagles would go with that pick.  BLGs whole perspective, without reading the article, is in the wrong place from beginning to end.  The Eagles like Hurts, they want a multi year backup they can possibly flip for more picks.

What you,  I or the media think or hot take on, is irrelevant, no matter how many Twitter handle changes they make or silly GIFs they create.  DPs reaction says all you need to know about the pick.

If Hurts has to come in and win games, I bet those same idiots in the media who are mocking the pick now will be purring with delight.

Completely and totally disagree.  The article addresses some of what you mentioned, and is worth reading.

People are right to be critical of a pick that not only robs the team of a starting player, and potentially an impact starter in this draft, it introduces problems the team did not even have.

The argument of flipping a QB taken at pick 53 for "future picks” is ridiculous and has been comprehensively refuted.

What is the argument that Hurts would be a better backup QB than veterans that were available?  This can be demonstrated as very wrong in a variety of ways.

What hasn’t been fully explored yet is the additional problems this creates, and other things we learned from this that are problematic, and since the media hasn’t delved into this yet in print perhaps I will compile something tomorrow when I have some time.

This is a debacle.  One they will come to regret.  What anyone thinks is technically irrelevant, but obviously we do a lot of discussion here anyway.

If the Hurts pick was motivated by the Seattle game, then it is an even more questionable descision.

You have to look at the circumstances of the Seattle game. McCown was thrown in there with little to no preparation. If he had a week to prepare, the results may have been better.

Would have been different if he wasn't playing on a torn hammy too.

Not sure what problems the pick introduces or creates

And the receiving Corp he was throwing to. No offense to them though

Aaron Mooorehead & Ken Flajole.

I’m not sure there are two more important under the radar names.

What were the two worst positions on this team at the beginning of this offseason?  WR & LB

What two positions on this team now have the best, most explosive athletes?  WR & LB

We need these two coaches to do some great, great work.

The CEO and board of directors can. It's happened in the past.

The final piece is in place.

The receivers at the end of the season produced more with less talent than the starters at the beginning of the season

They did damn good with the talent they had

Tate is a camp arm, probably on the recommendation from McNabb.

Taysom Hill was a camp arm with the Packers before Payton scooped him up.  Tate can move like no other.

True, they were hungrier. That is for sure

Desean produced just fine until he got hurt.

Read my Post before. He’s a pain in a$$. Coaches here really didn’t like him by the time he graduated. They benched him for the freshman gunnell even though gunnell wasn’t ready and was not very good for the most part. tate Has regressed since 2017 season where he exploded. He can’t read defenses and he began not wanting to run because his "crew of advisors” didn’t want him too cause they didn’t want to risk major injury. Mazzone (OC at Arizona) and tate Got into it multiple times. There’s video of it on the sideline. Heard in practice and film study it was worse. Tate didn’t want to run the offense or certain plays that were called (specifically some running plays). He’s got a big arm but he’s not accurate very accurate.

He’s going to need to change to WR cause he has that speed but he wanted to be a QB it’s why he went to Arizona and not another school like usc cause they wanted to convert him to WR if he committed. I’m guessing the only way he makes it in the nfl is to play WR cause he is not good besides big arm And running as a QB

I’m telling you as glowingly as coaches talked about jj Taylor, it was not the same about tate  he’s a diva and a pain

I was wondering if they saw him as a RB.

So WR it is. A poor man's Bowden.

If they develop a large package for Hurts, I dont mind having Tate on the PS. If hurts gets hurt you dont have to lose all of that part of the offense.

Uh, we're talking #53, not #15. Don't exaggerate the value of that pick. I doubt this draft was so special that the pick is that much better than most years, and in most years, that pick would be a 50/50 proposition for a starter, and maybe 10% of an impact player.

True. And if he had the surgery when he got hurt he would have been available for the end of the season

Doesn't Herm Edwards coach ASU?

Yes. But asu is Arizona state and not Arizona. Kevin sumlin coaches Arizona but rich rod recruited him and basically let him do whatever he wanted before he got fired.

May be true, but this stuff is only a concern for draft picks.  Udfa's don't have a leg to stand on.  He's either a model citizen here or he could get cut mid-practice.
