We’ve paid the past two years. I read that we should expect a check in July but I haven’t been able to get in to make it direct deposit...

Same, I always owe a couple hundred every year. Funny, they have no problem taking out money via I imagine the same tool as direct deposit, but can't put anything in? Makes no sense.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

So that’s at least two games a year vs press corners.

Ever since the Eagles hired AR, they have been a well above average organization.  I would imagine they are somewhere in the top 10 in the NFL in wins since 1999.  They aren't in that echelon of NFL royalty, but they aren't far off.

Fans are customers.  Customers don't like to be told how lucky they are and how good they have it.  Politically/PR, that was the tone the Eagles took with fans and local media early on (gold standard being one example) and they've occasionally got back into trouble by striking that cord again over the years.

Gold standard if I've ever seen one

My understanding is that since they have your account info, that should expedite the process. We paid via check, so they don’t have that on file electronically.

BTW...I recently lost my job due to Covid.

It's been really helpful that this forum continues to be a comfortable distraction for me.

Sorry. like permanently?

We'll disagree.  I think they want no part of Flacco, and McCown only as a coach.  Their goal is for him to be dressing for the first game.  As a 2nd round pick, it is my expectation.

I'd expect it too, but with a limited offseason and a guy that isn't a finished project, I think it would take a miracle to get him up to speed to comfortably be the #2. I think if they bring in Flacco or McCown its more of an indictment of them not having faith in Sudfeld.

I was just kidding on that response. Mine is actually going to my parents who could use it more than i.

I took a beating in my investments (which fund my retirement) but I still don’t need it as much as others due.  I just feel I should help them, if I can.  Sorry to hear about the impact on jobs.  I do hope we can start towards recovery there soon.   The more data we get, the closer we can get there.

The unemployment check issue angers me.  The states take in tax dollars for those programs for situations just like this and 2008.

Sorry to hear that.   We will try to make it comfortable... but you know that sometimes this place becomes uncomfortable.  Like when they draft a QB in the 2nd round... or something...

That would never happen

Could be, but maybe rest is all he needs. IDK the guy can play when he stops making it all about him (both when he plays well and when he doesn't)

Have any teams contacted you.  I saw at least one fellow poster is okay with winning a Super Bowl with you as QB.

Another thing that angers me and all this is somehow the Los Angeles Lakers got $5 million in the stimulus check for small business but people who really needed it and  True small businesses that really could use some of that money still haven’t seen any of it. That’s ridiculous on so many levels

Damn, Goodwins wife firing shots straight at Ward already

Because they're often deficient in one area.
- Size/arm strength: Kellen Moore, Colt McCoy
- Production: Christian Ponder
- Character: Geno Smith, Jameis Winston

So games started doesn't have much relevance in NFL success rate then, right?

I believe he could race JJAW at half speed probably still beat him for 19.

Robinson does not impress me.  To be a good press corner, you need to be able to flip and mirror. Tulsa plays in the same division as my Cougars.  Let’s just say they QBs were not throwing away from him.  With his size and speed, I thought the cowpads were drafting him to back up HaHa at S.

She can talk about 84. Not 88.

Of course.  No guarantee that Hurts is a good backup.   We will have to agree to disagree on Winston being a good backup.  He's not 'backup material', imo. Flacco is toasted and won't have the arm strength for the deep ball.   And I don't think Newton has the mentality for backup either.   And all of them would have cost $$$.  I get that this cost a pick and there's not a guarantee on his ability as a backup.  But, I'd take that gamble with a good guy like Hurts over Winston or Newton any day.

It's a question of resources.  I'd be OK with Hurts at pick 103.  At pick 53, they could have added another player with potential to start next season at a position of greater need.

There's a balance between analytics and workout warriors.

However, college production doesn't necessarily translate to the next level, lack of production is a red flag.

Howie didn't just focus on athleticism, he wanted guys with high motors who are coachable. But if they don't have instincts, not sure how much you can coach them up.

But with a guy like Taylor, you're betting that if he climbed the learning curve in college, he has the athleticism to keep on climbing. That's where work ethic comes into play.

I also don't think they ignored production with the offensive picks.  Taylor, I think, is the biggest boom or bust type pick.  Work ethic will be part of him growing.  There's also a question of football intelligence, game sense or instincts which some players seem to lack despite their efforts.  I think that's where he will need to grow.

It does. How many good starters didn't play a lot of college games?

Yes.  Not the only factor but statistically one that holds up well

I'd take Newton if he wanted to be back-up. I wouldn't take Winston if he brought a 200 y.o. bottle of Scotch with him and Cuban cigars

I feel like Cam took the Vick route in his career. Seemed like he didn't take it seriously.

The development and success of Reagor is ultimately the most important part of this draft and perhaps the long term success of this team.

Ultimately, if Reagor is a productive player and plays like a 1st round pick , I think it goes a long way in helping the team win games. We know Wentz will play well, Sanders will produce, and the O-Line will be good.

If Reagor is good, it’ll be more difficult to dwell on the Hurts pick.

Wentz is going to have fun with the young speedster. You could tell he really wanted to air it out for Jackson until Jackson was injured. He hasn't really had a reliable speedster yet. Should be fun to watch

I think Newton’s arm is done.  Really could not throw very far last year after coming back from the shoulder injury.

I think I read somewhere that he's injured somewhere else too.

I found this tweet by schefter interesting. Not everyone takes first round WR/TE/rbs who make catches but you’d have thought at some point the packers would’ve with Rodgers like they did with favre. Curious as to who the one TD pass was to.

I’m with you. Fortunately the small business I manage received that grant that goes to payroll so just this week I’m back and able to "work” from home. Filed for unemployment for 4 weeks (haven’t received a dime of that).

However, I manage a gym so there’s only so many things I can do. It’ll be interesting to see how things change both short and long term.

Getting any idea of when gyms will open back up?  My makeshift home gym leaves a lot to the imagination.  Don't know how long I can go without taking the plunge and investing in building a garage gym.
