He was literally traded for a late seventh round value. Like comp pick seventh round value. Maybe work on making the team.  My belief is first choice goes to Reagor, whose number 1 belongs to our punter.  Next up is Hightower whose 16 is on Burnett now so it probably will be available at some point. Possible that Watkins and Hightower may be fighting for the same number as that is what Watkins wore.  In the meantime they should get to choose before Goodwin. Frankly, the fact Watkins was picked after the trade suggests to me that Goodwin is a bit of a flyer.  Cost wise JJAW, Ward, Hightower and Watkins all make better sense for the Eagles.  I am hoping that JJAW, Hightower and Ward outperform Goodwin and that Watkins is close so that at some point during camp the Eagles feel comfortable enough to flip Goodwin to Green Bay for a 2021 fifth round choice. Hate his injury history, he has only played in sixteen games once. Kind of mediocre when he does play.  Inconsistent hands and he is getting older.  At over a million, he needs to beat out at the minimum the fourth WR for the job.  Frankly, he was a salary dump guy for the 49ers and we still got our guy with the trade down.

As to beating JJAW, not when he pulls up lame at the 20.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the no cost trade but posting a video with comments like that about future teammates is stupid.

If GB had any interest whatsoever in Goodwin they would have traded for him. He cost nothing in terms of draft pick value and contract after the restructure. A 2021 5 is a pipedream.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Its a new Warren video. We are set with RB2

I hope he cuts 5-7 pounds. He looks a little too big up top. If he can add just a little bit more burst we might have something cooking.

It's a question of resources.  I'd be OK with Hurts at pick 103.  At pick 53, they could have added another player with potential to start next season at a position of greater need.

I also don't think they ignored production with the offensive picks.  Taylor, I think, is the biggest boom or bust type pick.  Work ethic will be part of him growing.  There's also a question of football intelligence, game sense or instincts which some players seem to lack despite their efforts.  I think that's where he will need to grow.

Taylor practiced in HS, he just could only play on Saturday because of his mom’s religious beliefs.   Played at his Juco and started for the Buffs.  That is more experience than Aiyuk, for example.  Kid shows great football IQ, real good instincts and solid tackling form. He is an uber athlete.  A tad light, if 228 is light for a OLB anymore. He can cover.  His worst issue is overcoming blocks. That is pretty normal for college OLBs coming into the league. I am super excited about him.   I think he quickly becomes the WIL with Riley as the Ike Reese, #4 that can play any position. Riley will push TJ at MIKE.  Let’s hope Taylor can teach his tackling to Gerry.

I always wanted a RB with more speed/burst when we were watching Ajayi and Blount bust 20 yarders that shoulda gone for 50.

But Sanders has it. And I still wanted even more, and maybe Killins will be the guy to bring that.

Warren as a RB2 is ok for me just how he is. I think his roundness plays to his advantage. Like Michael Turner the shape of him just causes people to deflect off. He has such surprising shiftiness and stop on dime ability for his build. He reminds me of Howard with shiftiness, or Ajayi with actually a bit more speed.

QB Factory!!!!! 😅

We appear, recently,  to be  more of a Little Debbie QB factory, aspiring to be a TastyKake QB factory.  Hopefully Hurts is our Butterscotch Krimpet rather than a Thorson Banana Twins.

Getting any idea of when gyms will open back up?  My makeshift home gym leaves a lot to the imagination.  Don't know how long I can go without taking the plunge and investing in building a garage gym.

I live in Maryland and we’re assuming we’ll be able to open by mid-end of May. Other states are opening up already so it’ll be interesting to see how that goes.

Our gym never gets too crowded but we’re going to have to adhere to the social distancing standards. That means we’ll have to space out machines, get rid of some, limit total of people in our gym, limit number of people in our group classes. That’s the kind of thing that’ll piss people off and just say screw I'm buying a peloton or building a home gym.

And the idea of forcing people to wear masks while working out is absurd.

With Warren, I fear he needs to cut weight to turn 3-yard runs into 20. Forget the 50-yarders.

I always think back to Corey Clement. He was too big as a senior. He cut a lot of weight (Warren doesn’t need to cut that much, just the baby fat) and became a legit NFL player.

I think that changes. You will probably need to give each member a disinfectant spray bottle and some paper towels when they come in and require a spray down and wipe after each use of a machine, free weights etc.  It’s the classes like aerobics and yoga that are going to be tough.

Ugh.  Garage it is then.  I hadn't even considered the mask aspect.  No way in heck am I wearing a mask to work out and I'm not saying that in it's a free country tone.  You just can't breath in the darn things.

Yeah, they definitely have zero faith in Suds.

I wouldn't say zero.

"Nate Sudfeld signed a 1 year, $2,000,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $500,000 signing bonus, $500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,000,000. In 2020, Sudfeld will earn a base salary of $1,410,000, a signing bonus of $500,000 and a workout bonus of $90,000, while carrying a cap hit of $2,000,000 and a dead cap value of $500,000."

In fairness, he didn't post the video, its just a capture of his Instagram live he was doing with fans. His wife quickly realized she was opening her mouth too much also.

I agree with Clement, but he looked way less mobile as a senior than Warren does. I never thought Clement had a chance to make it. And month by month after he was drafted he looked faster and quicker till by mid-season when he was a real weapon. He went from a power back to a guy competing for the pass catching heir to sproles.  Im not looking for that from Warren though. Yeah he could get quicker but I like him for his power and contact balance. I like him as he is.

I cant believe Barnett is stealing 10M this year. We dont have a choice but that hurts. If its a 1 year bridge to an extension I guess ok but if its his last year here Id rather 10M for a 1 year bandaid with Griffen. Or even 3 years for Griffen on a contract similar to Bennett's with us.

Oh well...

I'd feel so much better about our WRs if we had drafted Terry McLaurin instead of JJAW last year and Justin Jefferson instead of Jalen Reagor this year.

I don’t think we’ll be able to enforce that. It will make things more dangerous. I can’t even stand trying to talk with it on.

It should be interesting. I’m hoping (for my potential financial sake) we open before bars because we might get the people eager to just do something, join the club and get involved in training because they can’t go to happy hour.

We also have a pretty strong community feel so a lot of our members go to the gym for the social aspect. Even the meathead lifters go to BS with one another. Those people will stay but the people who just want to do cardio, do a few things and leave, or people who think they’ll be healthier by just paying for a gym membership will say screw it.

Colleges are a major feeder pool to the NFL coaching ranks, and I'd like to see the numbers for conferences of minority coaches.

The other problem is ex-NFL players made too much money the last couple decades to want to put in the hours at low pay, Duce is a notable exception.

Peters would probably be a great OL coach, but does he want to spend 3 or 4 years interning under Stoutland?

And when you look at former player, Hauck, Peele, Bartrum, Moorhead, Ollie, for example, everyone of them served in lower positions prior to getting NFL gigs. If Peters got offered an assistant gig right after retirement (which I support) he would be the exception to the rule although I would argue he has been a player coach for the last few years.

The contract is a placeholder. It’s only guaranteed for injury.

If he can be a Bearcat like Celek, Cole or Kelce it's a homerun.  Just not like the WR.  Cincinnati has been good to the Eagles.

That wouldn’t make Jefferson any better of a fit.

I think it would. McLaurin as the Z, Jefferson as the X or Y/slot.

But I agree that Jefferson, in general, isn't a good fit for us. There's no doubt about that really. It also doesn't change the fact that he's a really good WR.

It’s nice that the Eagles didn’t have any of those easy to predict bust draft picks this season like Pump or Thorson.

Cue the Hurts rioters.
