Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Find it curious that teams and the NFL hasn’t said anything about canceling rookie camps, usually the first or second week of May, or OTAs, which are usually scheduled the third week of May.  Still in remote Phase I, workouts, strength and conditioning for the first two weeks followed by more of that with like 90 minutes on the field and some classroom time. Phase I started 4/20 per NFL.  Per Spads, Eagles opened theirs on Monday with a virtual team meeting. Both the NFL and NFLPA still have those dates for camps on their websites.  Given the limited opening of states, I could see a plan coming out for camps shortly maybe with some delay in dates.

They announced everything as indefinitely suspended back in March. They also said that they will only resume normal activities when all teams are ready to do so, so there is no unfair advantage.

So with regard to compensatory picks, we lost Jason Peters and that's calculated into the formula, right?

Now that free agent signings aren't factored into the formula, we could re-sign JP. So we would get a comp pick for him leaving in free agency, but re-sign him and not lose the pick that we got for him leaving?

Don't ask how I slipped down this wormhole, but look up Jamar Chaney's wikipedia page.  I was just reminiscing over the contrast between raw athletes (Chaney) and instinctive guys with lesser athleticism (Gaither, for example).  As a LB, you can stick if you are an inferior athlete with good instincts who tackles well.

But I digress.  The real point is that the wiki article reminded me that Baldy said Chaney was "already one of the best middle linebackers in the league" after his first start.  This is the same guy who said JJAW moved like AB.

I don't know if he is trying to get a job in the Eagles FO or if they are already paying him.  But when he tells us this summer that a random mid-round round pick looks like a HOF, we probably shouldn't think too much of it.

No. He didn’t sign anywhere so he’s not in the formula. And now that it’s past the cutoff date he has no affect no matter where he signs

Teams that held off until next year for drafting a QB,will be rewarded.  There will be more then a handful.

My personal favorites

Trey lance

Brock purdy

Jamie Newman

Imo all first rd picks, all big arms and athletic.

That isn't counting Lawrence or Fields, and 3 or 4 more.

Huge huge fan of Keton Slovis but , he is not eligible.

A stacked QB draft is always good for the teams picking in the 20's looking for other positions.

I didn't think it sounded right, but I"m always looking for loopholes... lol

I've said it already, but he's got the mentality down pat to play in Philly.

I honestly have no problem with that pit. That’s it made sense to me and that pick I think it’s gonna wind up being fine. He’s going to get to learn from DeSean Jackson this next year. I also think he has a lot of chris Chambers in him. Chambers has more height at 6’1 but the athleticism imo is about the same. And chambers had 4.3-4.4 speed

Theres at least 2 elite CB prospects, and a few 1st round DEs as of now that we should be looking for.

You have Leatherwood who returned to school that likely was a 1st round OT. Figure on at least 3 QBs. A couple more OTs. And a bunch of WRs again. 2 LBs with Parsons and Moses should go early. It could be possible to land a really excellent CB or DE prospect later in the round.

It’s nice that the Eagles didn’t have any of those easy to predict bust draft picks this season like Pump or Thorson.

Cue the Hurts rioters.

Gonna be hard to declare Hurts a bust since he'll rarely play.

At this moment i like Bateman the kid out of Minnesota. He was clocked at 4.4 when he checked in at Minnesota and he’s 6’2 210. In the 20s he’s a good prospect as of today. But i think they likely are going DE or CB

Now there’s a loaded response.

Really good article.

If they are changing up the offense it makes a ton more sense at least.

Wentz's biggest strength is the deep ball, Hurts is best suited to a vertical scheme, no conflict between the two.

Hurts also excels in the RPO, which basically turned a journeyman into a SB winning QB, except Foles couldn't run, Hurts can run and pass.

They're not going to RPO Wentz much for obvious reasons, but if Hurts has to play, you're playing to win and you're not going to baby a 6'1 225 lb QB who was the lead RB on the Sooners. So I suspect they'd mix in a lot of RPO for Hurts.

Hey he could run.... but he is just what we call not fast lol

Sign me up for a slightly light extremely explosive edge rusher who can actually bring down a qb and disrupt a pass attack...instead of a RDE that makes me suffer the pain of listening to homers talk about how well he plays the run while next to an all pro 320lb run stopping DT in a league that passes 40 times per week.

If they had declared I was a big Tamarion Terry or Tylan Wallace guy.  And I think theyll be the later half of the round behind guys like Ross, Chase, and DeVonta Smith. Probably compete in the same tier as Bateman. Its incredibly freakin loaded. Theres a bunch more names to rattle off that  contend for a 1st round selection. And the guys at the top are even better than the top guys this year. Way better.

But yeah I think we go CB or DE first next year and thats ok with me. There will be a 1st round talent WR in the late 2nd or even 3rd in this next class.

And before we mention that stopping the run is so important considering the RBs in the division....

In the last 3 years, we’ve lost more games partly due to an inability to touch Russell Wilson than we have due to an inability to stop Zeke and Barkley combined.

Honestly that’s why I didn’t want to give a picks in next years draft to move up in this draft if the Eagles wanted one of the top three wide receivers. I think next year’s class it’s just better at the top and possibly all the way through out. So I wanted our first and second round picks because I think there’s gonna be somebody there you can take and you’ll have the guy you have now In Reagor and be set. I didn’t think it was worth giving up potentially the value next year when the top 3 were not Julio Jones type prospects.

Josh Sweat says hi.  His 4 sacks last year didn’t do it for you?  Great plan.

I liked the Sweat pick.  I am moderately encouraged by his progress and will be happy to see year 3 of his development unfold with him as the primary DE off the bench.

I wouldn’t bank on more or less.

When you see it this way it is pretty depressing

Although smith wasn’t cut he was traded (didn’t make the list just saw it on fb)
