I don't think anyone is really writing him off yet but it's safe to question the Eagles commitment to him after all of the rumors.  I just posted about his mental toughness. That game at RT could have really effed him up.  We're finally free of the headcase that Nelson was.  Do we have another brewing in Dillard?  I truly don't think he ever bounced back mentally from the game he got abused in.

We're already giving Brandon Brooks a pass for his anxiety.  Do we want a mentally weak LT protecting Carson's blind side?

Mentally weak. Please don't make me think you are talking about yourself.

Dillard will be fine this season. Now with Seumalo, I'm not so sure.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Confused with the shot you're taking at me.  I'm basing my comments off of what we have all read and heart about Dillard.  I'm not knocking the guy, I'm just making an observation and having a discussion if it's worth being concerned about.

Theres no way Dillard is a bust

It was dumb to ever put him at RT

Ive been checking for JP news every few days just in case.  I hope this is news that hes coming back at guard

It's not. This all was just a lot of hot air about alleged trades that were never to happen.

That would be the only way I would be happy to welcome him back. We could have a top shelf guard in him and it's easy to move Seumalo to backup if it is JP he has to make room for. Perfect!

There is absolutely no chance that JP signs here to take over Seumalo unless he gets injured.

It’s one of those not worth entertaining

Why not? Crazy as it sounds, Dillard-Peters-Kelce-Brooks-Johnson would probably the best line we can put on the field this year.

It would certainly make it easy for Dillard , too.

Dalton signs with the Patriots and they win more games than the Bucs this year.

Quick, sign him and trade him for a second round pick

I really liked Howie's 2020 draft before and after #53.  But if Dillard busts, that's too much.  That's just too many high picks with no return.  We aren't going to have a functional offense excavating Peters for another year.  There is a reason no one called him.

Mailata or Prince would be our LT in every 4th quarter anyway, might as well just give them the job now.

Wait until sports talk radio gets a hold of this and starts complaining that the Eagles could have just signed Dalton on the cheap over drafting Hurts. Listened to it all morning about Winston even though he is A. terrible and B. only signed for that cheap because he probably has a chance to be the Saints next starting QB when Brees retires.

I wouldn't rule out Ertz and Goedert being on the roster past 2021. It just depends what Goedert's market is.

He still has two more years on his deal plus a tag potentially, correct?

It is a brainer.  The guy is cooked.  Let the young 1st round pick play!

Correct

now if he wanted to be an assistant to Stoutland...

My gut says the Eagles are questioning what they have in Dillard. Apparently they were interested in OT draft prospects early, rumors of being interested in Williams, now they want to bring back Peters...

Where there’s smoke...

Nah

Dillard was fine when he was in at LT.  It's silly the amount of hand wringing going on over that guy.  He got tossed in at RT without practice and he fell on his face.  No reason to write the guy off.  And I'm calling the dude a "kid" like people love to do.  I hate that ish.

I agree. People are acting like dillard played horribly last year.

Other than the one game he played RT where he was just thrown in, at LT i thought he played better than Peters.

Does he need to get stronger?sure most rookies do.

The whole crying thing is over blown. This narrative that hes weak minded or soft because he cried is an old trope that needs to die. Id rather have a guy cry because hes passionate than a guy who doesnt care.

I think it was Sheil Kapadia who wrote the article detailing Dillard's initial struggles both in high school and college football. Dillard seems like a reserved guy who slowly adjusts to every new subculture he joins. Hope he perseveres one more time.

I like the Dillard draft pick.  I like what I saw at LT in limited action.  I thought he was sufficiently bad at RT, regardless of the fact that he was thrown into an uncomfortable situation, to have at least some level of concern.

I think most fans have been ready to embrace Dillard as the LT this year.  The real Dillard hate seems to be coming from rumblings from within their own organization.

So your threshold for no TE being that crazy is a guy who hung himself in jail after losing his lover?

The Patriots also had the greatest 2-TE offense in NFL history.  This. Is. Not. That.  Offense.

You think it's safer to assume that Goedert is content as the #2 TE in an offense that also just jacked up its investment in the WR position?  And your argument that it could happen is the one time in NFL salary cap history that the Patriots made it work so well...when half the rules never even applied to them?

Go ahead, stick your head in the sand, and hold your breath until both Ertz and Goedert both sign long-term contracts with the same team.  Let's see if it happens.

Howie seriously stated their goal is to have 2 of the top 10 QBs in the league?

Really?

Your post about Dillard’s ‘mental toughness’ is based in ignorance.  Your comment regarding Brooks reads somewhat more prejudicial beyond being ignorant regarding mental health issues.

Is Lane's big news about the message board being shut down?
