Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

He's 100% embraced Philly and the fans online also. Just a really likable guy all around so far. I do think he's going to end up getting over hyped though.

He's got Brian Dawkins in his ear to help direct him on how to connect to Philadelphia.  That likely helps.   (I believe he and Brian's sons were roommates at some time.)

Haha I knew you’d take it there. You never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity to learn something. I’ll spell it out-

if a TE would sign the highest contract ever to play BEHIND another TE, it can happen again. It’s amazing to me how many people on these boards see having two solid players at a position as a sign that one of them needs to go.

nope. We’ve seen it countless times.

And as I said, bank on it happening again.  Seems like smart money.  Let's see how that goes for you.

It's not that one needs to go.  You are just missing an opportunity to learn a little foresight to connect the dots and maximize your value on one before someone walks.

Got word today that a friend of mine's daughter (she's a nurse that's been in a Covid ward) is showing symptoms and is getting tested.  The really bad news on that is that my friend's wife (well, she's a friend too!) has just about every conceivable condition that would quickly exacerbate the devastating nature of this disease.   I'm not sure how careful she's (the nurse) been about isolating herself, nor how much contact she's had with her mother, but I pray that it has been enough.

Man, that's terrible. It's just such a contagious condition that I am sure your friend and her daughter are concerned.    It's so hard and I hope your friend's daughter will recover.  There is some good news about treatment I saw. https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/article242379241.html It would be great if this drug can help the most impacted by the disease.

Yup. He's certainly got the confidence and attitude Schwartz loves.

No Eagle fan should ever love the big D!

Yep.  Saw that yesterday.  Remdesivir might be a game changer for the treatment, until we can get a proper vaccine.

Whoa... NASCAR to start their season on May 17... with 7 races in 10 days.  That's crazy.

Gotta hope that this goes well though.  Limited contact amongst competitors even.  Basically, only people anyone would have contact with is their own crew.  So, if one team had a positive test, the rest could be isolated enough to not also be positive.

From everything I've read is that Wallace considers himself a CB than S.

Maybe he beats out Jones and Maddox to take over the other CB position after this year?

I remember the chatter about quez pre draft and a lot of peeps mocking him to eagles and i think it makes sense.

If one is basing their projection at what he is right now instead of what he cam be then one is missing the big pick.

Hes an explosive player who can run and jump, he needs to get stronger and improve his technique getting off press but i can see him having the same role pinkston did in reids offenses which is to be a field stretching Z.

Eagles rip on pinkston but fail to realize eagles won a super bowl with a pinkston type WR in torrey smith who wasnt all pro or even very good but safeties had to respect his deep speed because he could get behind them.

Teams will have to respect watkins deep speed.

You line up desean reagor hightower and watkins in a 4 WR set and defenses are going to be on their heels.

Unlikely, the trials have shown a mild impact on length of ICU, nothing statistically significant with regard to mortality.

In other words, at best it's a treatment with some but limited effectiveness, much like Tamiflu for the flu.

I don't see that.

And with no other sports.  I still wouldn’t watch.

I don't plan to watch, but it will be good for my mom.  She's a NASCAR fan.  Not sure why.   But, more importantly, it's a guinea pig situation.  If they can do it without any issues, it means that other sports can start to follow suit.  Its still a long way from 'normal' or even the catch phrase of 'the new normal'.  But at least it would offer more things to talk about.

I don't much either, but if he can, it's something interesting to look at as he develops.

Doubtful. If he was going to play CB it would be Nickel. I believe he only played an extremely small amount of outside CB in college. I think he best fits in the Malcom Jenkins role.

Then again I never thought Avonte Maddox would be a starting outside CB, so what do I know.

If Clement is healthy and can stay healthy he can help the eagles win.

Hes not great at any one thing but hes good at a lot and a good special teamer to boot. Those guys are invaluable as bottom of roster guys and its not like he hasnt shown he can contribute its just been 2 years.

Im rooting for the guy.

Same here.  In the right roll, Clement can thrive, provided he's healthy.  The guy loves the Eagles, wants to be an Eagle and can help the Eagles.  Hard not to root for a guy like that.

He could be great on ST and in the screen game.  Love his attitude.  Kind of like Vinny Curry.  Guys who just want to be Eagles and help their team win.

With that being said as much as we trash JJAW I hope he succeeds too.  I want to see all of our players play to their capabilities.   I want to see Greg Ward continue to develop in to a slot weapon.  I want Barnett and Sweat to become a great DE duo for the next 5 years.  I want Mills to bring that swagger to safety  and be succesful.

The list goes on and on.

I saw a 31% decrease in recovery time.  That's something.   And if this is administered sooner, aka, before we need to put someone into ICU, or onto a ventilator... then maybe fewer people would require that, and if fewer people require it, I'd assume that would impact mortality.

Not sure if this was posted earlier.

With moves like this, it's clear that Jones wants to win more than Lurie.

I know it's such a small detail but I posted about this months ago in a previous conversation about retiring numbers and such.  I actually called that if the Cowboys drafted Lamb he would wear 88.  It's a legacy number for the Cowboys.  It's an honor to do so.  I think the Eagles would be wise to do that.  I just hate retiring numbers so much.

I agree it's getting crazy.  Would love the intro's ......  And now your starting Quartback number 62 - JAAAAAAAALEN HURTS

So what's the deal with K'Von Wallace?  Had the lowest percentage of missed tackles for safeties, graded via PFF as the best coverage Safety, and also had the 4th highest SPARQ rating at 96.8 behind Dugger, Chinn, and Sneed.  Wondering why he fell to the 4th round based on all that?

Combination of things

1) Safety is a devalued position. No safety went in RD1, which pushes everyone else down
2) Is a combo-safety. Not as good in the box as Xavier McKinney, not as good as a FS as A****n Davis. You'll need to use him as safety #3 or as a combo-safety with another safety who can do everything.
3) Is a good athlete, but is a big small.

He should have been a 3rd rounder.

I mean it's not a miracle but an average of 4 days less stay in ICU is an impact.

It's not that one needs to go.  You are just missing an opportunity to learn a little foresight to connect the dots and maximize your value on one before someone walks.

Or you keep two great players instead of shipping one off while their value is at its lowest point because the league knows you might be looking to move or cut one.  Remember when Asomugha came in and everyone was eager to ship Asante out?  How'd that work out? Think we might have been better keeping them both? Or did you enjoy watching the parade of bradley fletcher and cary williams and DRC struggle to fill the hole?

Moreover, it just negates the purpose of good drafting to ship someone out every time you bring someone in.  It's a path to mediocrity.  The path to success is finding talent, keeping talent, and maximizing it on the field.  Let's see what those two guys can do to the middle of the field now that we have the power to stretch it.  You'll be surprised how productive both can be.
