Starting to get the feeling Peters is coming back. He should easily have had a home somewhere else by now if he was going to a new team

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Why not?   They should put as many great players around Dillard as possible

The answer is Reps.   If Dillard loses reps to Peters, that's a problem.

If Peters replaces Seumalo at LG, I think that's likely a downgrade at this point.  It puts Peters somewhere he's never played before, and Peters comes out of a bunch of games due to injury which means more flux on the OL.  We need continuity.

That depends... if they bring back Peters in a coaching capacity, then I'm very much on board with it.

That's the only way I want Peters to come back. In some coaching capacity. Definitely not as a player. Peters and Stoutland as coaches would be great

Exactly. If one doesnt trust dillard this year hows benching him going to either improve his game or his trade value.

If the eagles end up trading him it will be for far less than what spent and if they bench him because hes "soft" how often do soft players that get benched turn it around???

I think its much ado about nothing, i thought dillard played better than Peters last year at LT.

Time to toss dillard in the deep end, sink or swim.

I still hope for the best from Dillard until a roster move proves otherwise.

But if Jason Peters starts at LT in 2020, Dillard’s value to us and to everyone else goes to 0.  He’d earn bust status faster than Danny Watkins did.

@VaBeach_Eagle has earned the right to monetize this board.  I hate to say something that risks diluting this product.

Need to figure out if this board remains a nice community for us select few die hards, or if the new registration explodes into all of Eagles fandom.

If the registration explodes, you earned it.

I won't subject members to ads, (unless it's 100% the last resort to saving us from going broke lol). If any ads are placed, I'd only want them to be visible to guests and even then, as unobtrusive/obnoxious as possible.

The nice thing about the Invision message board software is that I can pick who sees ads and I can easily pick where the ads are placed... and there's no way I'll allow any kind of popup/pop-under ads. The way I look at those kinds of ads is that they're not only obnoxious and invasive, they're unethical.

I was being sarcastic, as that was the same logic they used for Hurts...."putting great players around ____" (even though the great player would directly impact ____ ina negative way"

Just thought it was an odd dichotomy of thought.....side note, I still f'ing hate the Hurts pick and think it was stupid and tone deaf

This is a guy I first noticed as a freshman. Draft eligible after this coming season. Fast. Curious where he will project in the draft.

Ive seen Moore play alot out here.

he is the real deal and should be a first rounder IF he stays healthy. Knock on him is durability.

There are just so many that may be 1st rounders it seems like there are enough 1st round WRs to last in to the 3rd. Its insane.

@ghor? @meatmcginley?

I did that just the other day.   Found a spider and I was trying to kill it.

so what? what happens if the wentz retires because of injuries and you are stuck with nate as your qb? and it could be years until you find another qb, did you see what the browns has to go through with their qb position, it's not dime as a dozen, it's very difficult. you want the eagles to be the browns of trying to find another qb? howie is not doing that, he's not going to risk this team to go through pain of finding another qb because they put all their eggs into wentz, that's just too risky especially with wentz's injuries, i guess you dont see that either, to you he's superman he'll never get injuried again.

he could have another injury and his career could be over and the team could be trash for years. i guess wentz fans dont care about that because winning isnt important, it's all about wentz. to me and alot of fans that support this move, it's about winning and having a pontentially healthy starter in hurts in case wentz never plays again and this team never goes to tank mode.

You can't draft in fear that your QB is going to retire early. Can you name any other QBs in the past 20 years that has the Talent Wentz has who retired early outside of Luck?

I had a post blaming Hurts for them forgetting to flip the switch off. I saw none after mine. I clicked out to try to see what boobs had potentially been posted in WU and it was off. I suspect I may have been last but certainly not least.

I was doing the same thing!!

DK Metcalf....

DK Metcalf....

Did he say it too? Well crap he showed up to all the teams that passed on him lol

Though to be fair a neck injury is a huge risk and Howie already took a risk the previous draft that didn't really pan out

If they excavate Peters, essentially acknowledging Dillard was a wasted pick, when they could have stayed put and given the DE position a future with Montez Sweat....

Y'know, Sweat was a massive disappointment for the Redskins last year. I read their message board from time to time and their fans thought he was a waste.

"I think about all the teams that passed on me,” Metcalf continued. "I went to work, training camps and the workouts with a chip on my shoulder.”

Thanks Howie (and Joe Douglas)!

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure they had him playing out of position?  Didn't they have him as a rush OLB rather than DE?  I would have loved to see a DE with his athletic ablility in this defense.

I hope we have a JP answer soon so we can end the Dillard talk.  If JP comes back we know that Dillard 99.9% isn't the answer at LT.  If JP retires/signs somewhere else then we can move forward with Dillard hoping he becomes the anchor for the next 10 years.

The medical team dinged him...

He had a neck injury! Lol and this team has had so many problems with injuries it's not surprising they passed on him

Why let JP walk in March if you don't believe in Dillard? What changed in the last month?

I said before this was a mediocre draft except for a few players.  Every player the Eagles drafted has something they need to work on to become better players.

Reagor. Drops, including concentration drops.  He took plays off when the ball wasn’t coming to him at TCU.  Can’t be a deep threat when taking a play off. He has trouble blocking air.
Hurts.  Progression reading.  Mechanics.  Note Foles had a long wind up too.

Taylor.  Getting off blocks.  Raw.

Wallace   Needs work on FS play and first step in deeper routes is slow.

Driscoll  Needs to get stronger

Hightower   Needs to get stronger   Basket (body) catcher.  Wentz throws high sometimes, basket catching doesn’t work with that.  Needs to snatch the ball. Press deficiency

Bradley  Instincts, or really the lack thereof.

Watkins  Route running  Needs to improves his cuts.  Just running fast at one speed doesn’t get you open in the NFL.  Needs feints, jukes etc.  Basket catcher.  Easier to break up passes to basket catchers

Wanogho  Still raw.  Needs to seriously work on hands and arms placement.  Punch needs improvement.

Toohill   To play in Schwartz’s D, you have to play the run.  As a pass rusher, he is a bit like Hall was coming from A&M   Fastball with no pass rush moves   He needs a lot of polishing

To create Left Tackle controversy between Peters/Dillard to take away from the QB controversy between Wentz/Hurts.
