That's why the 2nd pick is intriguing. The talent seems to be before the pick. The sweet spot seems to between 25-45. There has to be a partner which makes the trade down questionable and a run on WRs can complicate things.

Yup.  Seems we'd be better off with two picks between 30-40 than 21 & 53.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Can you please point out the others?

Reisling is like a desert wine.  I’ve made shaved ice with that before.  If you don’t know what Sauvignon is. Then I’ll give you a hint.  It’s a different aisle then MD20/20

Not necessarily - (on the reisling not the MD part).  Apologies for geeking out here a bit...but I am a bit fried on draft talk!

They can be anything from sweet like a dessert wine to bone dry.  the Germans classify rieslings by ripeness at picking, not the end point residual sugar levels - so it's more about balance between acidity/sugar/alcohol:

Kabinett - least ripe - lower alcohol, usually off-dry.  good with sushi, shell fish, spicy food (think Indian or Thai)

Spatlese (can be either dry or sweet)

Auslese (dry or sweet but this is were your dessert wines start

Beerenauslese (desserts - these are the pretty awesome wines with aging capabilities)

Trockenbeerenauslese (desert wines that are late harvest - infected with Botrytis so super concentrated sugars.  Now we're talking nectar like.

Eiswein - (Dessert) frozen on the vine before picking to extract water

One of the best dessert wines I've ever had was an aged Trockenbeerenauslese...

If you were looking to buy a dry German riesling look for "Trocken" ("dry"), but not to be confused with Trockenbeerenauslese...

apologies for the ramble.  I now return you to discussing #21...

Glad you made it over, now I have someone to argue with

I meant that I announced it in a few other threads.

OK... but what did he think the charges were?

Probably disloyalty. The Joint Committee on the Conduct of the War, made up for the most part of Radical Republicans, apportioned blame for Union losses. Hooker had been trounced at Chancellorsville a few weeks before and Hooker was skilled at blaming others for his mistakes. Meade no doubt thought it was his turn to be thrown under the caisson.

Can you tell me why the term 'dry' is used?  It seems an odd word choice.

I guess how I would describe it is to think about how it feels on your palate.  the "dry" wines tend to leave very little residual "coating" behind.  Clean finishes.  Think more wet stone, citric, green apple or grassy notes.  Vs yeasty or peachy, red apple...

And in reds, the tannins almost make you feel like your tongue is "drying" out a bit.

T-1000 is claiming he's not RJP.  So play along.

I smacked you upside the head with this BS last night and I will do it again. We'll see if you conveniently ignore it again. Not only did I not hide who I was on the other board, I made it crystal clear from the door I was RJP2743. Nice try, wrong again. Go JO to your guns and copies of ''the art of the deal'' and leave me alone.

Ahh...we probably agree on most things unrelated to Foles/Franchise tag & trade/etc....  But that conversation is well over a year old now and done with....time to move on to the issues that matter....like the 2020 draft.....:Eagle_smiley:

Other teams know the Eagles are locked in WRs. That makes me think it will be hard for the Eagles to sit at 21 and get the player they want. Seems the smart play for Howie is to move back a few spots, take Reagor/Aiyuk, and gather another mid-round pick that can be used to move up in the 2nd round and double dip at WR.

BWF guys posted their final mocks this morning on the Athletic. I'd be happy with Sheil or Berman's, don't like Wulf's (besides getting YGM in the 2nd):

Sheil went bold in one of his latest columns by saying that the Eagles messing up WR in this draft would be a season-crippling blunder.

No, they can't.

I can't laugh harder than last year -- it can't be done ..... but the Giants on the clock is must-viewing for tomorrow night.

Not a stretch, he could very well be right.

The Eagles record at WR is just so bad, I will automatically expect whoever they take to be a complete bust, and just hope for once to be proven wrong....

There is talk on Eagles live today about whether Westbrook or Lito should be allowed to return kicks.

Presumably to avoid fatigue and injury one might say no. But, it is hard to forget Westbrook in 2003. We have Ryan Moats to go in on first down if Westbrook is fatigued from the return

Or do we go with Bruce Perry or Reno Mahe?

Discuss...

Well the strip club isn’t open so my draft room is down this year.

Gettleman is a treasure.  We need the Giants to win just enough to keep him around.  I don't actually believe this but did see the reports that they have been doing crazy amounts of pre-draft prep with Herbert.  This would be in line with taking a running back ahead of a franchise QB when you have the 2nd pick, or taking a QB with accuracy and turnover problems 6th overall because he works out with the Manning brothers.

It is becoming annoying that they are in the top 10 literally every year, but it is better than having them picking in the 20's I suppose.

Willie Gay might be a realistic target at 53 or maybe even a small trade back and we can get him and another pick.
