Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

the greatest as far as I'm concerned.  It will be a shame if/when Belichick cheats his way past Shula's wins record.

One of my childhood best friends was and still is a HUGE dolphins fan.  I remember watching his 300th win against the Eagles and he would not let it go.

While I'm not going to say he was better than Shula, my vote will still go for Vince Lombardi.

And yet he was benched in the playoff game, which was kind of telling, I think. With the chips on the line, they preferred he not be on the field. That's kind of unsettling for me, who has been a Jones supporter the entire time.

On the other hand the 4 games leading up to the playoffs were really one and done games, so they counted on him when all those games were must wins.  I was surprised he didn't play against Seattle.

For a second there I was confused why he coached against the Eagles so much.

Yes and im not talking track speed im talking football speed.

Football speed as we all know is more than running in a straight line on a rubber track while wearing a singlet.

I think reagors and hightowers gained muscle mass or weight had negative impact on their football speed.

I think both will be faster football players at lighter weights.

Hightower played at around 175 lbs in college the heavier weight clearly affected his 40 time at the combine. I imagine hell slim down to be a faster quicker football player and same goes for reagor. The added weight didnt do him any favors and slimmed down for his pro day he looked faster and quicker. I imagine hes not going to play football at 207.

And get killed?

The issue with JJAW is the unfortunate collision of 2 problems.  Every player takes a certain amount of time to get comfortable and hit their stride.  JJAW is on the delayed developmental curve, as was Nelson Agholor.

When DK Metcalf doesn't know what to do on a given play, Russel Wilson can tell him in the huddle to run a go-route, slant, whatever.  Before he masters the position, on certain routes, he'll have a chance to beat his man deep, or at least drag a safety over for help.

JJAW can't win a route or a matchup against a DB unless he is precise.  He needs to cut at the right spot, waste no steps, master his footwork, sink his shoulders and hips at the right point in his stride, etc.

When you get a guy who lacks the movement talent to win a matchup who also mentally struggles with the finer adjustments, then you've got a non-viable player.

JJAW will get better, will calm down, and will learn this offense.  The question is if the juice is worth the squeeze.

We also don't know what JJAW's practice reps were compared to other WRs.  I mean there is no reason to believe he was ever working with the 1's prior to Alshon's injury.  I think the lack of practice likely also played a role.  I don't know if JJAW lacks the physical tools to win absent some super precise route running.  I do think he mentally was not fully prepared last season.

Sidney Rice is on this list. I’m not a big fan of saying he "never failed to produce”. Dude was a product of Brett Favre throwing up bombs with his eyes closed for one season. Otherwise he was garbage.

Silver linings, no 2020 international games

I wouldnt call rice "garbage". He had an issue with concussions and retired at age 27. The rest of the names are really good company for reagor to be in. I think he's going to surprise alot of people.

Seems like there may be some technical difficulties on the Wentz interview? Supposed to start 12:45 but vimeo keeps saying it'll start in 2 minutes every time I refresh. Or is it just my feed?

I call BS.  Anytime you like a player enough to have "stunned silence" when he's drafted in round 3, then you would have drafted him in round 2.

And if they were smart enough to think that highly of him in 2012, then they were equally stupid drafting a LB over him in round 2.

Just started

Carson's doing a great job fielding the questions and trying to kill any possible controversy on the Hurts pick. Not that I expected anything different, but they keep trying to come at him from multiple angles on it and he is just shutting them down.

Franchise Quarterback.

and there are the technical difficulties again...

Carson is now on the line by himself with no reporters

Well...that was an ending...maybe to someone's livestreaming career

I'm listening to it 'live' on facebook

He came back on about 10 minutes later. Nothing really interesting in the second half, mostly just shutting down questions or not commenting on specific things. The two only slightly interesting things is he said he trusts Howie and he's excited to have diversity at the skill positions.

Yeah this is sort of my sense too. If you’ve really blanked on this player, especially at qb, you just take him.
