Thank you SO much!! I’m halfway through and Zack is putting on a clinic. What technique! The balance, hand and foot placement, and the patience, just great.

Did notice that Barnett got Tyron Smith a few times. And Dallas is really going to miss Frederick.

Watching Martin is like watching Joe Thomas. Just great technique.

You must have missed that they were gifted (by the Eagles, no less) a future Hall of Fame center in the fourth round of this year's draft. What was Howie thinking?! I also can't believe that the Saints, Falcons, and Broncos picked centers that they thought were better than Biadasz. He was the bestest of them all!

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Go back to the timeline of when Reich left.  There weren't many options left.  That's the reality.  McDaniel screwed the Eagles when he went back to NE.

I think mcdaniels is a fraud. I think Brady being great made him look better than what he is as a OC. Definitely hurt us but i think colts dodged a bullet on that hire.

It’s going to be really telling to see How stidham does this year with mcdaniels. I liked stidham coming out of auburn but i think mcdaniels being vastly overrated and first year starting he’s likely to have a bunch of ups and downs.  Add on their weapons aren’t exactly great with sanu, Edelman, Lee, rookie TE, Michele, white and burkhead. Not exactly stellar. Belichick will have that defense playing well that’s their saving grace.

what are my blogging buddies hearing about the upcoming season in regards to covid-19?  business as usual?  games in empty stadiums?  games in empty, neutral site locations?  what it is?

The Dolphins are planning 25% capacity with staggered arrival times. They’re the only ones I’ve seen release anything approaching a plan. Seems like it will be a team by team decision.

As of now, I think the NFL plans on a normal season. As a reference point, La Liga (Spanish soccer league with the two most famous sports teams in the world) announced yesterday that they will begin practices next week and their league will resume competition in June. Obviously this is a different country/sport/league, but it seems as if there is light at the end of the tunnel.

25% stadium capacity, or 25% of what they normally draw?    From what I remember, Miami Dolphins games are normally socially distanced... not by necessity, but by apathy.  No one in Miami cares.

Wonder how much Logan Ryan would cost? Said today he's done in Tennessee. I know he played alot of nickel corner last year, and there is a gluttony of nickel corners here now. But he also moved around alot in their defense and has the desired versatility that is coveted here. I think he'd be better at CB2 than anyone currently on the roster.

Total capacity.

If Alshon is coming into replace a productive player, that's one thing.  If he's coming in on game 4 after JJaw has average 45 yards a game, then the pressure is going to be on Alshon to produce.  If he's coming into replace JJaw's production from last season, I think they should give him a shot.

It's really neither here nor there, but Alshon's last game he played was his best "stats" game as an Eagle when the defense decided to let Fitzmagic go off.

127 and 2 TDs or something like that.

You, sir have busted my sarcasm meter. I expect you to promptly replace it!

Greg Ward averaged 6.3 yards per target and 9.1 yards per catch. He wasn’t a productive or efficient player. He simply didn’t crap himself and stayed injury-free.

If you take away a 38-yard catch on a busted coverage against Dallas those numbers dip to 5.5 and 8.0. Those are putrid numbers.

Exact same as Nelson.  Highest was Jeffery at 11.4 then our two TEs at 10.4 and 10.5.  Not like anyone was lighting the world on fire.

Now take a look at the fourteenth rated OL, which ours was last year.  37 sacks, 100 QB hits. Only seven other teams had that many hits on the QB.  So is it the OL poorly blocking, Carson holding the ball too long, receivers not getting open or a combination of all three?  I suspect it is all three.  Too many games in the first half, Carson looked bad and the Eagles fell behind.  DL put their ears back at that point which wore down the OL.  Carson and Doug need to start faster.  The speed options should help.  Healthy Lane, younger Dillard should help.  Carson must improve his read quickness and Doug needs to tweak the calls and the offense a bit.  I expect some zone reads.  The problem with always stretching the offense horizontally is it takes longer to read the open man. And Hurts better improve whatever gave him 3.01 or he is going to get killed.

Does that mean we can PUP Jeffery and Hall right now? As I understand it a PUP designation is not required before training camp.

He have to have easily have been the worst first drive team in the NFL by miles.

Probably close to the worst 1st half team.

Imagine this.

Yeah i imagine Dougie P and Morhinwig are scheming up some 2 qb packages.

One more thing for defenses to prepare for.

This threw me off as well. Usually teams put them on active/PUP before TC and then are moved  to reserve/PUP at roster cut down. Never heard of a player skipping and jumping straight to reserve and the consequences being an entire year.

In Jefferys/Halls case they could move them but active/PUP doesn't really do anything, it doesn't even free up a roster spot. I don't know what qualifiers there are to end a guys season in the beginning of May.

For sure, but I think you have to leave it up to them to make their own decision.

Comparing numbers to a one-legged and probably washed Alshon and a clearly mentally washed Nelson Agholor isn’t a strong defense for Ward, who made his hay being ignored by defenses or covered by linebackers in the flat.

If you take away one blown coverage against Dallas, his yards per target is the same as Agholor’s and the yards per catch is 1.3 yards less, and this was with Agholor hitting rock bottom again.

Wasnt marty an assistant with Green bay when Doug was a qb there?

He sold the out route so hard the deep defender didn’t acknowledge him and the linebacker let him go?

You’re reaching if you think his route running made any difference.
