Eagles' fanbase ranked 5th in US for passion by Forbes.   Nonsense.

Here's the top 5:
Green Bay Packers
New England Patriots
New Orleans Saints
Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia Eagles

I think there's a lot of front running with a lot of this.

Green bay I can live with they own the team.

Steelers fans are hot and cold

N.O. the team brought them through the hurricane.

N.E. fans are frauds.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I didn't say that he shouldn't get 'several' questions.  4 out of 5 to start is a bit much, imo.  The first couple should have shown that he wasn't taking the bait.

Don't you think they were trying to speak on the elephant in the room early in the interview?

They then had technical issues so didn't even get to questions on other players.

I mean "Let's ask 2 questions on the pick the shocked the entire NFL world and happens to now be your backup" is a pretty ludicrous position to take.

The media has enough to draw ire from without trying to create it by them doing what any other reporter would do on a story of that magnitude, ESPECIALLY, with nothing else going on sports wise.

Total BS.

Having lived for many years in both Philly and Pittsburgh, I'd call it a draw.  I don't think any other cities come remotely close.  GB is a unique situation, but that's not even a city.  Patriots and Saints don't belong anywhere on the list.

This, absolutely this. Just off the top of my head, I'll give you the Bears and Browns as having more passionate fanbases. Probably Bills, Giants, and Vikings too. I might even say the Turds, but they only seem to come around when the going is good.

But yeah, good luck finding any Pats or Saints fans twenty years ago. They're all newbies who never paid their dues. F em.

Here is an important clause that could be beneficial in terms of revenue numbers:

(8) Recoveries under business interruption insurance policies that are received by any League- or Club-related entity, to the extent that such recoveries compensate such entity for lost revenues that would have been included in AR. The amount of such recoveries shall be included in AR net of (1) premiums paid for the policy/policies recovered under in the League Year(s) that include the events and the recoveries; and (2) deductible and unreimbursed expenses arising out of or related to the events giving rise to the insurance claim/recovery. Any lump sum payments will be allocated under the method separately agreed to by the parties;

One of the questions journalists should be asking teams is whether they have coverage under business interruption policies.

Most business interruption coverages require loss from physical risk to covered property from covered causes of loss that don’t include pandemics.  I am sure that there may be some policies out there with broader coverages.  Should be interesting to see what the Eagles and other teams might have.  Unlikely small and medium sized businesses have any fancy coverages.  In contrast larger companies may not only have broader coverages, they may have contingent business interruption coverages as well.  I expect we will see litigation over language although most of those types of policies have well settled law.

Disclaimer.  I haven’t been involved on a property coverage in decades and I last took education on this type of coverage in at least a decade.

I suspect since Sam (slynch) left nobody but NCiggles and I geek out on contracts.

Speaking of Clowney. No, I don't really anticipate the Eagles signing him, although I would hardly be disappointed if that were the case. But I do believe the Eagles will sign one or two semi-notable free agents between now and the start of training camp, whenever that may be. In other words, the current roster is not the one we're going to start camp with. I have to think there will be another running back or maybe linebacker added. There will be something.

The clowney noise seems like agent nonsense. Do not want

If the Eagles don't sign Clowney, I'll say good, F him.  Didn't want him.

If they do, I'll be happy they signed an elite talent, #1 overall pick, 27 years old, at the premium position in which they most need talented solutions...in May.

So I wouldn't go out of my way, but I'll be on board if they do it.

Much rather sign Griffen than Clowney.

Yup, ludicrous.  🤷‍♂️    That's just me.

But, I'm not sure about the 'pick that shocked the entire NFL world' angle.  The more shocking and more talked about thing was GB drafting a QB in Round 1... and not drafting a WR at all in the deep WR draft.

Just now, PrinceKelby said:

Yup.  100x yes.

Let's talk about Josh Sweat for a second.  He is a top of round 1 athletic talent...we are talking Clowney/Garrett type athleticism.  He was the top recruit in the nation out of HS.

He fell in the draft because of a terrible injury, which derailed his college career.  He was used in a read and react scheme (I'm not a big NCAA fan, but don't HS players consider these things when committing to schools?)  As a rookie, he couldn't figure out how to get out of his stance.  He was consistently the last guy off the line after the snap.  There is no point in being the most explosive athlete on the entire defense if you are stuck in your stance.  Then he had a seemingly severe injury at the end of the year.  Felt like there wasn't much of a future here.

In 2019, he became a little more instinctive off the snap, although certainly not yet ideal.  He stayed healthy all year.  His 4 sacks were respectable for a rotational DE.  His athleticism is still far more apparent when he's in a 2-point stance than when his hand is in the dirt.  He can run down anyone and erase space in the backfield in pursuit, but he still doesn't show that explosion out of his 3 point stance.

He only just turned 23, less than a year older than some guys who went top 60 this year.

Can we expect more from him?  Barnett is a "he is who he is" guy if there ever was one.  Graham does his job but already doesn't scare anyone; it's only a matter of time before he starts to scare us.  The need disruption from the edge.  It would be a huge win if Sweat could provide something.

Meh.  He’s old and a nutball.

Probably cheaper and traditionally more productive than Clowney.

Agreed on the nutball part, but then he should be cheap for a good rotational guy due to that too.

This guy concurs.

Barnett is only 23 as well. have to feel like this is BG's last year here. DE will be a top priority next draft

If Sweat turn out to be a hit that would be huge for us. DE is a weakness on our team that is only going to get weaker going forward.

Bills and Bears I agree with you.

Pack I am fine with.

I am OK with the Steelers from the limited amount that I have experienced and interacting with Steeler fans that I know and have known for 40 years .

NO- passionate but don't have the mileage.

Pats-no. Too easy to be a fan the last 20 years.  And while before that they SUCKED and possess the hard time chops, they were not beloved then.  Even in a love hate kind of way.  They were just ignored. Boston was always a baseball town and then a basketball town.  No one cared about the Pats.

And yes, the Browns.  GREAT fanbase.  And have suffered.

How does it work with the flu? They pick a strain. Just read an article today talking about how the virus hitting us now is a stronger mutated form they would have to base the vaccine off this one not the original. So how would it not be accurate?

Coronavirus has mutated into at least 30 different strains new study finds

The study was carried out by Professor Li Lanjuan and colleagues from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China and published in a non-peer reviewed paper released on website medRxiv.org on Sunday.

Found it in a quick search, but not the one from this morning. 30 strains out there...so how is a vaccine going to help?

Our CBs from last year should be fine.  They couldn't stay within 6 yards of a WR, let alone 6 feet.

I'm not into Social Media, myself, but I figured that there may be some lost EMBers wandering in the wilderness who didn't know of the death of the old EMB so maybe that might help them find their way home.
