Per PFF on a list of each team’s 2nd year breakout candidates...

Arguably the least proven player on the list, T.J. Edwards nevertheless earned an 86.6 overall PFF grade as a rookie, which would rank him among the best linebackers in the game if he played than just 112 total snaps. Why this is interesting, though, is that he had back-to-back seasons with a grade above 90.0 in his final two seasons at Wisconsin before going undrafted due to mediocre measurables and athletic profile. His NFL preseason grade was also consistently good, meaning Edwards has been an exceptionally productive linebacker at every level we have seen. He also excelled in coverage — unusual for a player with athletic limitations. He has a real shot to start for the Eagles this season and could be one of the surprise breakout players in 2020.

There’s a joke to be made here.  I’m going to think on it and get back to you.

If you have to think that hard it probably won't be that funny

Dude is a football player with instincts that make up for his lack of athleticism.

I thought letting Bradham go was a pretty clear indicator this was going to be the case.  On a defense that was constantly breaking down in other areas, he played really well most of the time he was in there and showed some possible starting WIL and even MIKE traits, IMO.

Maybe it was just me but Bradham looked painfully slow last year

Hopefully we won't be seeing any of Marcus Epps this year.

Need to be realistic on Epps.  Sixth round choice out of Wyoming.  Decent athleticism. Short arms though makes him a shoulder tackler.   Decent coverage and instincts but nowhere near a polished product at this point. He and Parks are likely playing for the fifth S spot with Rudy Ford.  ST capability will play a factor.  Speed like Wallace and McLeod.  Much better than Parks.  Ford is the fastest of the group but he has stiff hips.  Epps played FS/Ss/Slot so he kind of fits that position less DB as S mold.  When you consider that they all would have been battling for #3 S last year and two would have made the team, I think the Eagles got a bit better at S.

It wasn’t just you. He looked washed.

Parks will be no worse than fourth IMO, and likely one of the top three safeties. We don’t have a player on the roster who has ever played SS in the NFL. I don’t know how realistic it is to expect Mills to make the transition with a shortened offseason, and Wallace is a mid round rookie.

Seems like he went down hill relatively quickly, but he is over 30 now

He had offseason toe surgery, so maybe that hampered him all season. Who knows?

Both of them need to learn to keep their guns holstered.

Been 37 for me too. Same thing.  I did get a chuckle thinking about my wife’s "posse” as knife wavers though.

I can still remember getting grief from a co-worker 25 years ago because I laughed at a news story about a couple getting into a knife fight over the welfare check.  He told me "you wouldn’t think it was so funny if it happened to you”

Some people just don’t understand there is a proper way to live a life where this type of thing isn’t an issue

The Eagles are definitely better at S.  But this is what will be interesting.

Wallace is obviously more talented and a better prospect than all of them.  He's a lock.  But he's also new to the team, system, and league.

If there is minimal camp, practice, and preseason time before week 1...I would imagine Epps is higher on the real depth chart and stepping into the defense before Wallace.

Not a complaint about Wallace, just an interesting case study in talent vs. familiarity.  Across the league, it will be interesting to see rookies competing with slightly more experienced back roster talent.

This seems unnecessary...

If it gives their talking heads time to talk they will figure it out.  Agree, totally unnecessary.

Reagor's QBs in college. Attempts in parenthesis.

2019: Duggan (339), Delton (50), Collins (5)
2018: Robinson (204), Collins (104), Muehlstein (63), Rogers (1)
2017: Hill (400), Robinson (27)

So in practice, that's 5-6 QBs in a 3 year period. None of them were great; many were awful.

For reference, the other WRs drafted in the top 22 had the following QBs: Tua, Hurts, Burrow, Mayfield and Murray. 3 #1 overall picks, a top 5 pick and a 2nd rounder.

I believe that there was a similar tweet regarding Goodwin.

Played with the likes of EJ Manuel, Kyle Orton, and Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo.
