I like him...especially since he's projected as a 6th/7th round pick...or even as a UDFA.  Would be a great pickup anywhere near that late, imo.

 

Two dark horses to be the Eagles first pick if they trade back or perhaps even stay put...

I like Tanner Muse.  He's coming out as a safety but will be a perfect hybrid safety/linebacker in Schwartz's scheme.  Probably will be available late...5th/6th round.

This scheme doesn't require an elite LB. Hasn't for years now. In a 4-3 scheme I don't see that it has the game changing impact. I'm not doubting that Murray or Queen would be major upgrades but they don't vastly change this defense and the direction of this team. 

It may not require an elite LB, but what does it look like if they do. The Eagles have competent LB's right now...it is as big a need as WR and a high LB pick can start and contribute from day one.

The thing with an athletic LB, it allows the D to do more against RBs that are moved to the slot, etc.  When you see what other teams can do and then the likes of Bradham and Gerry doing their thing, the gap is vast.  The NFL has moved on in the past 5 or so years and the Eagles are stuck in the past.  Gerry is fine for where he was drafted, but imagine having a less stiff LB who can tackle in his place

He’s one of the guys. I also like Woodward of Utah state. Davis-Gaither i think could be there at 103. Justin strnad is another mid to late round guy i like. Marcus Bailey i like as well. Sleeper udfa or late round kid is ray Wilburn from ball state or rashad smith from fla Atlantic ( i think he needs bulk but a year on practice squad i think his range is good for a coverage backer)

It's a need because of limited numbers. It's a need because of lack of investment. But to me it just doesn't change this team much. There's not a real shift in direction by taking a LB. It is not a game changing position.
