IMO the Eagles caught a break when the schedulers allocated them Washington in Weeks 1 & 17.

Rivera should have that team much improved this year, but maybe it takes them a few weeks to find their feet. This could take them into 6/7 win territory by Week 17, i.e. just outside the playoffs, with no real incentive to beat the Eagles in the season finale.

If that mid-season improvement does manifest itself, hopefully they can nick a game off the Cowboys in either Week 7 or 12.

Their defense should be pretty good and Rivera is a defensive minded coach.

That offense though🤪

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Del Rio and Rivera will have that D playing really well.

You can get to the beaches in LA in 5 hours or something from Phoenix.

Trying getting to an ocean in that time from Ohio.

🤦🏻‍♂️

None of that changes the fact that Phoenix is not the west coast. They’re in MST. However they do not use daylight savings. So until November it’s still a 3 hour difference from ET, but since we play Arizona in December it’s only a 2 hour difference, which is the main reason people bring up west coast games when referring to a team’s schedule.

Yup their d line is stacked.

Do you know if theyre going to stick to 34 or go to 43 defense. Del rio and rivera have traditionally been 43 and seems their personnel is more suited to 43

I visited Phoenix in 2010 and really enjoyed it.  Being Canadian I didn’t even realize there were mountains there so I was pleasantly surprised.  Had to get on the golf course before 8am though, because it was 100 degrees out by lunch time when I visited in May

Visited Greensboro NC on a few trips for work; love the climate there as I could wear a short-sleeve polo shirt even in Oct/Nov.  Lots of run-down lower income areas near where I stayed, though.

Visited Chicago in 1997 for work — great city to visit with so much to see.  Wouldn’t want to live there, though — hearing gunfire outside the workplace left an impression

It was awesome to see Philly in 2012; lots to see and great history to take in

I’ve taken golf vacations to Palm Springs — what’s not to like?  Orlando as well, as long as I stayed away from the Disney complex.  Las Vegas was nice, but windy as heck

Only place I’ve visited in the US that I didn’t enjoy was Cleveland.

I don’t have any questions about Earl Thomas; he and Richard Sherman are likely the two biggest knobs in the NFL.

They even had Brandon Browner in that same secondary — another classless dunce

Oh, I was being sarcastic in my response.   It shouldn't be something that happens to anyone.

I have no clue on that.

I don't like the 1&17 combo. What's bothersome to me is the thought that they may have to shift the first couple weeks to the back end of the schedule, which would put the Redskins in back-to-back weeks.

Actually, as it stands now, the league could start the season in Week 3 and still be able to get in a full season with the Super Bowl played on the scheduled date. Plop the first week to the back end (we'd get the Skins in the final two games) and eliminate the bye week before the Super Bowl. Then all you have to do is reschedule the Week 2 games, which would be easy to do since every game scheduled that week features teams that have the same bye week. So the Eagles and Rams would then play each other in Week 9.

Sorry for going all Wallyhorse there for a moment.

You didn't. What you said is logical and makes sense, and could actually happen.

Yup.  That's the plan.  They league also has it setup where they say that they can just scrap Weeks 3 & 4 altogether.  (that's from Schefter).  Not sure how that works.   It seems each team would lose a AFC-NFC match-up and an Intra-conference matchup.  Ideally, losing the AFC-NFC match ups only would be better since it wouldn't impact tie breakers at all.

Probably would have been better not to record that work out

Jason Peters can still play, but teams aren't willing to pay him enough to move. If he was willing to take a weak contract, he'd be signed.

He should just wait for a LT to get hurt.
