Thinking of getting a Big Green Egg or Kamado Joe, or the like. Looking for wisdom from the grillers here. Don’t need the biggest size. Cooking for anywhere from two to six people, rarely more. Ease of cleaning a major concern. I recognixe they can be pricey.
Do I even want one? I sous vide my ribeye and sear in my cast iron pan. Perfect.

As I said, looking for wisdom.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I think you can get them for quite a bit less, but I’m good with my $500 Weber. It doesn’t take me to the movies though. I can bake a pizza on it.

Lol yup, sonic down the street is packed into the street and im pretty sure they use fresh garbage, i guess during a pandemic people will eat fresh garbage, they do make an average cherry lime rickey though, the key is popcorn ice😊

I could live off a cherry limeade to be honest lol

Yeah its my wifes favorite. After i asked her to marry me she was thirsty and wanted a cherry lime ricky, the closest place was a sonic😊 Braums makes a good one!

I'm trying to do more dry rubs just based on caloric intake but by mistake I created a great sauce.  I never use the same amounts, it always varies but it makes an amazing hot sweet rub for any meats.

Any regular or honey BBQ sauce

Brown sugar

Worcester sauce

Hot sauce

Powdered mustard

Red pepper flakes

Garlic powder

I used one very similar to this but I added a beaten egg or two ( depending on how much I was making. Acted kind of like an egg wash to make the sauce adhere to the chicken because I was grilling sauced    Much of the ingredients you added you will find in a homemade honey BBQ sauce.

By necessity, I've been able to get a good smoke with an old Weber gas grill.  Briskets, Butts, Chickens, Ribs...all work well.

I can walk through the technique, which is also readily available online.

Only place out here to get one is sonic. You convinced me to get one tonight. Lol

Read an article that says hes turned down other teams because he wants to play for eagles and the only reason he hasnt signed yet is because of all the covid stuff.

I wouldnt be a big fan of the move but i think at this point its more than likely going to happen. Too much smoke not to.

You are probably correct

Caught some of that.  ESPN did a better job than NFL Network which only re-broadcast the telecast.  ESPN also has some comments from people involved and discussions on the sideline.  More interesting.

Got this line from NFL network site: "with DeSean Jackson, Marquise Goodwin, Jalen Reagor and John Hightower operating like a 4x100-meter relay team on the perimeter".  That is a serious speedy team!

However, US sprint relay teams have not fared very well in Olympics or World Championship, despite the overwhelmingly speed advantage.  They don't pass the stick well and can't run as a team.

I might be showing my youth here but the thought of Jalen Hurts at QB with Adrian Killins at RB with Djax, Reagor, Goodwin and Hightower in the Spread (or Ertz in for Hightower?) gives me goosebumps....

Gives me visions of lots of 3 and outs...  Now put Wentz in there at... OH YEA THAT'S WHAT WE'RE DOING.

You’re right, of course. Just me feeling cooped up. I’m much more likely to make a risotto than a brisket. My Weber is more than adequate.

I would look at Primo - still made in the USA. They have a small oval shaped grill that might suit your needs.

I must have been feeling the same way about covid-19 isolation. I bought my wife a gas-fired pizza oven:

I don't know much about Marquise Goodwin but he's come off as a real good dude and excited to be an Eagle since he's been traded here.  On behalf of the Eagles however...did they just send him things that were on clearance from the pro shop? Come on.  Good for him for trying to be as excited as possible for some of that terrible gear.

I was in the market for a new grill last spring and looked at both. Even went to a Green Egg demonstration.  After reviewing all options, I went with a four burner Weber grill. I am really satisfied in my choice.   (I do have a portable Weber charcoal grill for when I want to cook on charcoal.  My fire pit has a grill although getting the woods I want isn’t easy.  Same with my two layer barrel smoker which I used for long slow smoking. (I have owned that for close to forty years.).)  I grill twelve months a year.  My neighbor has commented she never saw somebody grill with snow on the ground until she met me.

The Green Egg was interesting.   I just didn’t think it was as versatile as suggested and it is so heavy.  I was tempted but the grill size makes it tough to fit some salmon filets and a number of full skirt steaks.

Glad to see the laptop, probably with the playbook installed.

Good thread.

What about drafting a RB fourth overall and paying him $12M a year when he had two years left on his deal?
