    I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

So what kind of receiver do we think pairs best with Wentz? Big targets? Easy separators? Speed? All of the above?

It’s so simple. Big receiver combined with a vertical threat ion the other side...then add a solid slot receiver with two top TE’s and a great RB.

   Wentz had a field day in the first game against Washington last year.  Imagine he had those weapons all year long .

I made it guys! Feels like home.

About time lol

I think that all things considered, unless they get lucky, the Eagles are kind of in a crappy situation.

  • They have to come out of this draft with not one but two solid contributing WRs - at a minimum.
  • Trade up - A trade up for a top WR would be great...except that with poor drafting and light numbers after trading up for Wentz, they have too many holes to trade away any top assets. And, that would make it tougher to grab that 2nd WR later.   So I don't see a trade up as a good solution.
  • Trade down - Deep WR draft, but 21 seems too rich for many of the 2nd tier guys.  But, I just don't see how they could trade back even a few spots and risk watching their options dwindle even further.  Not worth it for another 4th rounder in my view.  So I don't see a trade down as a good solution.
  • Stay Put - likely that the WRs that are available here you'd ideally draft 10-20 slots later and there will probably be better BPAs sitting there.  But, there are a lot of picks that go between 21 and 53 to wait to grab your 1st wr, even with a trade up in the 2nd because again, you just don't know who will be there.

So for me, the best less-than-ideal option is to hang tight at 21, grab your favorite WR that's there, and then go from there based on how much you like that 1st WR.   If you get lucky, then start looking at WR again in the 3rd round on.  If your first WR leaves you wanting, start figuring out how you are going to grab the next one to supplement and spread the risk.

Yeah it's one show.

Reagor/Proche I think would be a realistic but solid haul from this draft.

I think I found the potential root of the issue, but I may need VA's friends help.

Im not super amazing at web development but in the embeding:

body {
  1. /* background-color: #00454d; */
  2. color: #353c41;
  3. font-family: "Roboto","Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
  4. font-size: 13px;
  5. /* margin-top: 15px;

if you remove the magrin-top and background-color it centers the tweet and will not have the midnight green, attached is a screenshot of what i mean and in the dev console where it is.

i hope this helps

I’ll start with NFLN, but it might not take long before seeing and listening to Michael Irvin makes me turn the station, even to Mel Kiper Jr.

Sure wish they’d swap Irvin out for Willie McGuinest

Really?  Gerry is a 5th round pick, Edwards is an UDFA, Singleton is an UDFA .... I think either Patrick Queen or Kenneth Murray would be a tremendous upgrade over what the Eagles got last season -- it would make life a lot harder for Saquon and Zeke.

I do think I’d prefer a top LB or CB at 21, rather than the 5th WR. You could always trade up from round two for a WR, there will be talented guys well into round two. But there won’t be a Murray/Queen or Diggs/ Gladney/Johnson too far in round 2.

Trey Burton to Indy.

Didn’t realize that until a few hours ago

If the top 3 WR's don't fall to us at #21, we should take LB Murray.  LB is our biggest need as we only have a below average Geary, then ZILCH after him.

Then get Hamler in Rd. 2.  We already have enough underneath targets.  Need to find someone to take the top off the defense.

With the rest of the picks maybe trade up a bit using the later picks to move up in the 3rd and 4th if they want to target certain guys.  Hopefully get an EDGE rusher (Greenard?), and another WR and LB in the mid rounds.

But in reality, best to just go straight BPA (aside from QB) after filling the two biggest needs of WR and LB.

Also perfectly fine with punting any of our later picks (3rd rounder, 3 4th rounders, 5th rounder, 6th rounder) for picks one round higher next year.  With all the uncertainty surrounding the next college season and 2021 draft, we should be able to attain even more value than normal in those types of trades.  Something like trading our low 3rd this year for a pick projected to be a mid 2nd in 2021.

I expect us to sign Joe Flacco for cheap later on, so we really shouldn't waste any picks at QB.

Been awhile since I have been here ,I use to go by thebeastfromtheeast ..

Congratulations to birds and their superbowl victory..as a parent of 2 temple students ,and spending lots of time in  philly I got to experience the craziness leading up to it all.

Reagor with Aiyuk or Edwards and I would be hyped!

Could still throw in another late Rd on Bowden or someone too.

If they can orchestrate a trade back to be all to do that, I may prefer that as a trade up to get one they like.

The Jeudy reports are strange as if he's there at 21 you would have to take him, wouldn't you?

In the embed.css right?  Very nice find, I think this confirms what I sent to VA.  I'm not a css guy but I thought the person who helped him with it might be able to make the fix.  Thank you very much!

Everybody's an expert with 20/20 hindsight and not having 7 minutes to make a huge decision.

It’s not hindsight. I hated the pick when it was made.

And you don’t have 7 minutes to make the huge decision. You have the entire season to scout them and the entire offseason to rank them.

This is a decision that should have been made weeks before the draft. That’s the entire point. You don’t go into draft day waiting for your 7 minutes on the clock to make this type of decision. Every player should have a grade, and that grade should have a pick value attached to it.

The fact that they waited until they were on the clock to have this argument and ultimately betrayed their draft board because one person with more "clout” liked him is just a terrible decision making process.

Well, some small nuggets. Judson Kilpatrick was a brigadier general of cavalry in Sherman's Army. He was known as "Kill-cavalry" for his penchant of charging infantry positions with mounted troopers. Not good. He was particularly bad at Second Bull Run (aka Second Manassas). During Sherman's March through Georgia, Kilpatrick travelled with an entourage that included at least one mistress, possibly more.

George Armstrong Custer, something of a hero in the Civil War, was killed with his men near the Little Bighorn River in 1871, IIRC. The traditional depiction of his last stand is one of his men forming a circle, surrounded by thousands of Sioux and Cheyenne. Not the case. They were basically chased and cut down in small numbers over an extended period of time and space. Major Reno, who was with a separate detachment, spent the battle staggering around drunk on brandy, with a small cask under his arm. He survived the battle on dumb luck.

Major General Joseph Hooker was a heavy drinker and womanizer. He would throw parties for his friends and staff, attended by um, ladies of the evening. This is the most favored of the theories for the origin of the work "hooker" to mean prostitute. Hooker was sacked as commander of the Army of the Potomac three days before the Battle of Gettysburg, when his army was already on the move to follow Lee. He was replaced by George G. Meade who, when awakened at 3:00 a.m. on June 28th to be apprised of his promotion, thought at first that he was being arrested.

Good write up.  Perhaps I’m due for another Ken Burns marathon.
