I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

It's better than it was in 2014. 🤣

Wait.  Why can't Nike make silver?

They only want their athletes to get gold.... it’s the same issues they had when the the nfl and eagles made the switch from Reebok to nike and they used the old material Jerseys for a Little while until nike came out with the color green for the eagles. However this feels like at some point in time they should’ve had this done.

You wait til 2033 when it’s their 100 year anniversary. Gonna bring back those yellow and blue unis for a second time!

It's their new material they use.  Think back to the 90's uniforms or Notre Dame in the 90s.  Pants were shiny, almost slippery.  They had traditional pants seams.  The new uniform templates and materials now are almost tiny meshy and have all sorts of panels to allow for breathing and lighter uniforms.  For some reason they can't make silver with this.

Nike did come out with these replicas this year. Kind of think it’s only a matter of time til they come out with authentics of these and eagles wear them in a color rush

Regarding silver pants, this is from an article about UGA and their "silver britches".  Also REGGIE BROWN sigthing!

What about those shiny pants?

We also discussed a subject that fans regularly have raised when McGarity does online chats: when the football Dawgs might return to wearing shiny "silver britches” like they wore in the late ’90s and the early years of the Mark Richt era, rather than the matte gray pants they’ve sported the past decade or so.

That might not seem like a major issue to outsiders, but I’ve gotten more mail about it regularly over the past five years or so than any other single topic, including a couple of recent notes from readers asking for an update.

The story so far: Back in April 2013, when he was announcing some uniform tweaks, McGarity said UGA would like to return to football pants with a sheen to them, kind of like the Dallas Cowboys were wearing at the time, but it depended on when Nike could supply a fabric that suited what the school wanted. "That’d be the goal, to get it back to the silver britches. That’s the overall goal,” he said.

Then, in March, 2014, he said: "We are working with our partners at Nike to create a more ‘silver’ silver for the Dawgs’ silver britches”

A couple of months after that, I checked with Senior Associate Athletic Director Claude Felton, who said: "Uniform design and production is quite a lengthy process these days, but the new ‘silver’ should be good to go for the 2015 season.”

As the 2015 season approached Felton again said, "we are hopeful they will be closer to the original silver britches.”

It didn’t happen, though. After that, I’d check in periodically on the subject and was told they’d get back to me if there was anything to report on that front. They didn’t.

So, I asked McGarity this week whatever happened to getting shiny silver britches.

Before we talked, McGarity checked in with John Meshad, the athletic association’s director of equipment operations, about the uniform pants. The gist of what Meshad told him, McGarity said, was "It all gets down to Nike being able to provide the material. They have this shiny material called Cordura. Unfortunately, it’s a heavier material and, when it gets wet with rain or sweat, it adds a pound or a pound and a half to the overall weight of the uniform,” which UGA finds unacceptable.

"It is not as good a performance model as the current Nike material,” McGarity said, and "they haven’t been able to make a better performing shiny material. They’re hoping to lessen the weight, but they have not been able to solve that problem.”

I speculated that perhaps not enough teams request such a material in order for it to become a priority for Nike. "I guess not,” McGarity said.

Doesn't work for me with the numbers like that.  Do better.

Honestly i rather just have Kelly green color rush jerseys. It’s a much better sell to fans who still have a huge following for it. Telling me this wouldn’t be awesome to see wentz and the eagles in for a game

A couple of years ago, I was looking at replacing my twenty-six year old roof.  I had been out of state when my wife sent me a picture of hail on the yard.  A month or so later I was walking through the subdivision.  I noticed some roofer signs with hail claim pending on them. I came home and got out the ladder to look at the roof.  There were hail pings.  It wasn’t leaking but the pings lose gravel, the shingle is fully exposed and eventually leaks.  I called out my homeowner’s insurer and sure enough hail damage. I got a new roof and gutters for the cost of my deductible.  Homeowner coverage for the structure is replacement cost, no depreciation.  You do have to do the repair to get the depreciation paid.   (I also buy down my deductibles and have replacement cost on my belongings.  Cost to do so is incredibly cheap.)

A little advice, if there is hail in your area, get up and look at the roof.  There is a reporting period limitation for most homeowner policies and the last thing you want is to have the pings deteriorate and the roof start leaking and then you find out you are past the reporting period on the policy

My neighbor on one side went with a roofer fro half the state away.  Another went with an obvious storm chaser that had to hire for all the jobs they took on.  Guess which ones had issues.  I went local with a highly rated contractor with local references. I am one of the latter now.   I had to wait a little longer but it was worth it.

It’s worth a call even if you don’t notice anything. Two of my neighbors got up and looked and didn’t see anything but their insurance companies called them due to all the claims and suggested they be looked at. Sure enough, they’re getting new roofs. I didn’t see any issues with mine outside of a few pings on the down spout, but called mine in any way, but they didn’t find any damage beyond that. My roof is only two years old though.

Edit: I should note that my insurance company contacted us about an inspection too.

If the Jersey was all green, even with the different helmet posted as well, I would be okay with it.

That line across the middle is by far the worst part of it. I can't even imagine how bad it would look on a guy with a gut

I think one of the easiest ways to "refresh" some things with eagles is use some new combos. Wear the Green(helmet) Black(top) Green (pants) combo that hasn't been worn since Staley was a RB here, Hell go all midnight green for a color rush. go white top and black bottoms on the road. See if any of these look good and stick.

We've seen it. It looks gross.
