I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Vodka is a complete status drink. Do a blind taste test and I bet most wont be able to tell Svedka vs a top shelf brand. As long as it’s not a cheap Popov or something and it’s been distilled 4 or 5 times, it’s all the same.

Generally true.

Ooh nice. Big fan of jack honey, not true it with Dr Pepper though. I've been on the lemonade and a couple of lime wedges. Yuengling is a great shout too.

It might be, but it's well worth it. I feel like I have a good enough diet and exercise routine to sustain this a couple times a week

Yeah I mean of course that looks like a bad decision but hey it worked for us. I mean if he runs in the 4.2s at the combine then I'm not so sure he falls to us.

Some quotes from that Eagles OTC cap podcast. Nothing major and really just what most have been already saying

Quote

So, basically what we’ve done is we’ve gotten rid of DeSean Jackson, we got rid of Alshon Jeffery, we restructured Carson Wentz, and we have about $6 million in cap space. And you look at Fletcher Cox at a $22 million cap charge, you’re probably going to be able to extend him. […] Cox has two years remaining on his contract plus one void [year]. You can easily extend him if you want to. You can probably bring that number down to 10 [million], you can probably extend him through 2024, that’ll bring him to 34 [years old] that year. You can probably work out an extension there to open a good amount of cap room where you’re $16 million under the cap at that point.

Quote

So, I don’t think that their cap situation is necessarily as dire as a lot of people make it out to be. Let’s put it this way: the Eagles reading at 50 [million] are in a lot better of a situation than the Saints reading at 34 [million] over or the Falcons at three [million] over just the way their roster is constructed and the way things kind of align when you’re talking about free agents, timing on extensions, and everything else.

Howie's strength has been compromised by his weakness.  Sure he's a good cap guy and is able to play the shell game with money.  But that Howie can only do so much to support the other Howie, which is why they will be in that cap situation.  Bringing back or extending aged players to help cover up crap drafting.  Sure poor player development has hurt to.  With players like Agholor, Jones, Hollins and JJAW.  But their constant misses in the draft has made his strength irrelevant.

Go ahead sensitive posters.  Flame away.

Lol, I thought the same thing. That siding is looking rough.

Did anyone read the proposed rules to bring MLB back?  Some of this is just absurd.  This is just round one of the proposal but I'm sorry some of this is just ridiculous.  Just like PA and our silly color coded re-opening phase 99% of these proposed rules have nothing to do with spreading germs.

https://wwl.radio.com/articles/ap-news/new-mlb-rules-shower-at-home-dont-spit-mr-met-stay-away

-Spitting prohibited

-No high fives or fist bumps

-Batting practice coach must wear a mask

-no face touching for signs

-no finger licking (another impossible rulem this is habitual for ball players, especially pitchers.)

-balls thrown away after touched by multiple players

-showers at team facilities discouraged (personal hygiene is most important to stop any germ spread but don't you dare shower!!)

-no video board allowed but music is (OK what does this remotely have to do with germ spread?)

Fallacy of the middle

compromise is often a far inferior solution

There's a lot of issues where a middle ground isn't the wrong answer.  It does take acknowledging the validity of other points of view.  There are other issues where there isn't a middle ground.

What kind of a username is MediterraneanDiet? Where’s the motivation in making that your username for a Sports’ team’s message board? Just curious.

I was watching German soccer this weekend and there is just way too much overkill. "Social distance celebrations” was my favorite.

I just think people are sweating the cap situation too much. Either way if they don’t start hitting on more draft picks then there will be changes made.

It seems like all of them are hygiene related.  The problem with team showers is that you are showering too close to other players.  I mean it's why the CDC is recommending distancing in changing areas for the meat packing industry.

I know they are hygiene related but doesn't it seem like just a tad bit overkill?  If anything, just isolate the teams in their own hotels.  Conduct testing and have strict rules enforced with who they can interact with.  Then they can go to the ballpark, play their games, free of masks and without these ridiculous rules.

If they want their multi-million dollar salaries, then they can sacrifice and isolate like the rest of the country who is doing the same thing, just 33% have no income at all.  If they want, they can have their families stay with them (it is summer).  Up to them.

I want sports as much as the next person but I don't want to see sports with rules that in all honesty are more for show than anything else.  Make it look normal for every day Americans so they continue to follow the orders.
