Don’t rule out DE early. Realistically, how many years does Graham have left? 1, 2 at most. Do they pick up Barnett’s 5th year option? He sure as hell isn’t worth $10 mil a year. Then there’s Josh Sweat... that’s it.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

We have a MUCH BIGGER need at LB than at WR.

At WR we have DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery.

At LB we have Nate freaking Geary.  It's a much bigger problem.

Nate Gerry is gonna play at least.

Sure I can.  We need a 3 down LB who can play in all situations, including as the only LB on the field in dime situations.  We currently have no one for that role.  It's extremely important.

Whether its the best LB in the draft is irrelevant.  What matters is the grade of the LB prospect vs whatever WR prospect we're considering at #21.  if the LB has a higher grade that should be the pick instead of reaching for a WR.

I get it.  But we won a SB without blue chip LBs.

And if Zach Brown wasn't an idiot, we could have had another good LB from FA last year to take over from Bradham this year.

Now if you're comparing prospects, that's a diff argument, sure.

Yup i know all of jeffersons stats and his sophomore season and i know how most people love him some have him rated above ruggs which is fine im just not a fan. I could go into details why but im not looking to get the new blog all yelling at me again😄😉

Lol. I must have missed it. I think he will be a 1st down machine. Jefferson reminds me of Ertz some. They both understand leverage and defensive coverages very well.

I just hope we get one of these top guys. We have been talking about them for over a year on OEMB.

Chaisson seems small to me. Seems like a Reid fast ball pick😊

I think he has more to his game than Reid’s ol’ fastballs. He could add another solid ten pounds but 6-3 254, which is his combine measurements, isn’t too bad right now at only 20 years old. Plus he brings it in the run game and plays with a nasty edge. He’s not a passive, finesse DE by any stretch and his motor always runs, which the eagles covet. I think he’s on the short list at 21 if he makes it there.

I contend Nigel Bradham was the most underrated player on our 2017 SB winning defense.  He played 90% of our defensive snaps that season.  Which is why he got a big contract right afterwards.

So why do we need another Ertz?? I’d rather have a 2013 Desean or 2017 Alshon.

Remember howie made two separate trades up to get Wentz.

I don't think I have ever seen something like that. I could see him trading Alshon away in a move.

Yup, I agree.

I'm not even convinced he doesn't re-sign at some point.

Thing is, the pandemic is going to drag things out this summer and into fall.

I just think Carson and the offense is priority #1.  That's Howie's focus.

The Vikes were desperate for a QB

No one is gonna be that desperate for a WR

No, he'll be on reddit trying to figure out how to sort by date.

If you understand coverages and leverage then you can pretty much beat any defense. That is why Ertz always gets open. Him and Wentz have incredible chemistry.

Now imagine a receiver who can play at all levels/inside and outside. That could have that same chemistry.

How could you not want that?

I don't watch much college football, but I have a question about WR Jalen Reagor to the draft experts in here.

Why zero concern about his disappointing 40 time, and terrible 3 Cone Drill and 20 Yard Shuttle at the combine?  For a guy who's supposed to be a deep threat those numbers don't inspire confidence.  It's not like he's a big guy at only 5'11" with relatively short arms.

I can see Rd.2, but what am I missing that people want to take him #21 overall?

I’m not a draft expert but I put very little stock in the combine.  I’ll take 2-4 years of game film over a weekend running and jumping in shorts and t-shirt every time.  The combine tells you what a prospect is capable of; the tape tells you what he actually does on the field.

The part of the "value” proposition people refer to that bothers me is it’s actually a pretty simple yes-no decision.  The Eagles are drafting at #21; if you don’t take Reagor there you know he’s not going to be there at #53, so it’s in essence a ‘No’.  You can try to trade up/down but it’s an unknown whether you’ll find a trade partner who will offer that ‘value’ you seek

If we use a 1st for DE then why don't we use it for Yannick instead?

Jeremiah's lack of explanation on why the Eagles go Murray in his latest mock only confirm the fact that he's throwing up smokescreens for his buddy Howie.

Boom.

But we already have Ertz.  And then we drafted another Ertz in Goedert.  And then we drafted another one in JJAW (well, a crappy version).  The last thing we need is another underneath weapon to clog the same area of the field as everyone else.

Your palate is far more refined than mine. I struggle to learn but when someone whispers Sauvignon blanc or Sancerre, I’m cooked. My wife cannot handle wines with a lot of tannin so I adjust. I used to go to Moore Brothers regularly on Saturdays for the tastings and Greg Moore’s musings. Not possible now, of course. I have some reds I like, pretty much all from the Chianti area in Tuscany, especially the Corzano reds.

Some red grapes have less tannins in the skins than others.  The 'softer' reds like Beaujolais for example, have less tannins.  Pinot Noir and Grenache, depending on the area it's grown, also will have lower tannins.  Whites have less tannins than reds as it's usually the red grapes' skins that contain the tannins.  I also used to go to Moore Brothers, even when I was managing another liquor store, because they get wines you can't get anywhere else and their presentation of them is excellent.  I also liked that they always play Jazz music in their store, at least the one in Pennsauken.  And the staff is also helpful and knowledgeable.  I always hit the tastings, which were very well done.  Big arse wine glass so you could swirl the wine around and get a good nose of it, plain crackers to cleanse your palate between wines and the info they would share with you while tasting was always a nice touch.  Great concept they have.  Italian wines, especially from Chianti, tend to be drier.  I like the Super Tuscans, basically Chianti blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or other red varietals to make it a bit less dry and add some body.  Amarones and Barolos are also excellent, though they can get a bit pricey.

Because he wants twenty mil a year

Feel lile he goes sixteen or nineteen. Falcons and raiders need speed off the edge

Howie swapped picks and Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwells stupid contract with the Dolphins. Then he moved up to #2 from there.

I'm not putting it passed Howie to pull off something crazy.

I don’t think Jefferson would necessarily be a horrible thing but we need guys who can open up the middle of the field and make it easier for Ertz.

Apparently there is some buzz growing about SF targeting Jefferson at 13. Shanahan is some pull and if he’s smitten...

Seriously? I'm not talking about the tight end position or a position in literal sense.

I'm talking about football IQ. That stuff matters big time.

He wants a massive contract. Not sure the exact numbers but you’d be talking a $10-15 mill/year difference.
