Is it too much to ask to take this crap elsewhere!?!?

Every offseason something racist happens so we can discuss it in the blog.

Kaepernick is at it again too.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I cancelled our vacation for the summer.  We were going to go to Chattanooga and Stone Mountain.  But, we weren't sure about the restrictions.  Ruby Falls is opening, but at limited capacity.  The Aquarium likely will too, but with limitations, etc.   So, we are just ''stay-cationing'.

I canceled 2 vacations I should have already went on. The 3rd was coming up, I rescheduled for November. Dumped a ton of money and work into my yard so the family can somewhat enjoy their summer.

Something we can all stand united about.

Wanna talk about the Sixers?  I'm sure you need a lesson or two...

Most of my travel will involve seeing family.  My sister is moving in late June orJuly to the house she has been building since she retired.  It is on Canyon Lake in Texas. We should be able to stay with her and hit some of the wineries in the area.  Most serve outdoors.  We will also visit my father-in-law in Paris TX.  He lives out in the country. My biggest exposure will be going to the store so I can cook for him to stock his freezer. May socially distance visit with some cousins as we travel.   I suspect my wife will have me do a one stop for gas to and from NYC to grab my daughter for a visit since she is working from home anyway.  Will wait on that until it is safer to travel east though.

Yes.

Follow the rules doofus.

No one is forcing you to read discussions centered on politics. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.

Lies.  You don't follow the team.

Disappointing but best case for the Eagles was probably a sixth and two bottom of the seventh choices.  That’s like two UDFAs.  NBD.  Dallas is going to reap some picks though.

Yup.

They also lost most of their defense. If Lawrence gets hurt, their season is over.

It’s been a long standing tradition in here to leave politics out of the blog. Take it to CVON.  Dunce.

It is established practice in the board to have wide ranging discussions that sometimes include politics.

Whose rules?  You are a relatively late comer to the Blog.  When you arrived, you had an offensive toilet pooping acrobat for an avatar.   That was more offensive than anything I have read since Carson’s statement.

Many of us have been here since close to the start of the Blog and know where each person stands on most issues and where not to go too far.  It has always been Eagles and other subjects here. While we may not share the politics, religion or upbringing most of us agree with Carson’s righteous statement and what greend posted earlier.   Enjoy your thread.

No it hasn’t. We just need to be respectful and most are. Desertbirds has been a member of this community fare longer than you.  I would also point out the only one who has resorted to name calling is you.

Wrong again.

oh yeah.  I name call.  It’s all part of my charm. Idiot.

Politics, yes - but what just happened to Mr. Floyd isn't political.  It's the easy way out to say it is political, but it's murder, racism, pain, suffering, anger....  It's important to talk about, equally as important as the Civil War, General Grant, and the military strategy involved.

Yup.   Doing the same thing.

Agreed with this 1thousand%.

Tho I believe 4for4 is talking about the traditional comments about politics that tend to devolve into bickering and preaching...  which I agree is a waste of everyone's time here.

Fortunately, my family (immediate) is all within a very small travel radius.  We are less than an hour away from nearly everyone.  My wife's twin sister (and her husband) put in a swimming pool in her backyard a year ago.  So, we'll go visit them, rather than having them visit us.   They are in Newark, DE.  My wife's parents are in Delco, her other sister is in Chesco.  My family is all Delco.  We got together in Chesco with my wife's family over Memorial Day weekend - al fresco and distanced.  We'll be getting together with my family soon.   I had a gathering with just my parents last weekend as well.  Outside... and distanced.

Looking forward to having gatherings with family where I don't need to be so careful.  Ultimately, it would be nice to just visit with family... and not think about it.   Some day...

I understand the concept of wanting to keep the conversation in here mainly Eagles focused but we do get off topic from time to time but always come back to the Eagles.  The only problem there is NOTHING else going on right now and the events being discussed effect every single one of us.  It's been mainly a respectable conversation and it really seems that many of us are trying to understand opposing viewpoints.  I know CVON exists but it takes it to the next level of political chatter that frankly I don't want to be a part of.

Once we have mini-camp, spring training, NHL or NBA playoffs I'm sure the discussion will move towards that.  Heck WE WANT to discuss the Eagles and sports.  Unfortunately right now sports are non-existent and we are dealing with unbelievable things in our country right now.

Not if both their criminals play and play like they used to be able to play.

Nice.  Would love to do the same.  Just scared to spend cash right now

So far I think my spending on the yard/garden has amounted to about $800.   Replaced an above ground pool... found a place in FL that is selling models like the one I am replacing for under $200, with shipping.  (That model seems to be discontinued, since I last bought it. It arrives some time in the next 3 weeks.)  I bought seeds and some plants to grow my own veggies.  Bought some butterfly garden plants and seeds for the wife.  Bought some mushroom soil and a new hose.   Mostly it's been about making the most of what we already have.  Reorganized the shed, cleared away the vines that were overgrowing the fences.   Going to order some mulch to keep it all beautiful.

Got back the deposit I put down on the vacation house on TN/GA line.  So, only really spent about $300... over 2 and a half months.  This was money that I had saved for this vacation.   Had it (and a bit more) tucked away for this vacation.  In the meantime, we've dramatically cut down our spending during all this in other ways, so that overall, we have spent far less.  I've been fortunate in that both my wife and I are continuing to get paid.  My job is safe for next school year.  My wife's is up in the air for the fall... so my summer pay is going to be put away in case she doesn't get an invite back.  I am overdue some back pay for other jobs I've completed, but haven't been paid yet.   That money goes straight to the savings account.... and gets locked in for the next 12 months... unless its needed.

I went way further than that, but my yard was rough and ugly before. The back is small, I have a huge curvers front and odd shaped pie wedge for the back that has been hard for elme over the years to figure out what to do with. So I built a 10 by 12 BBQ shack, equipped it like a kitchen with a bar on the side. Re landscaped everything and put up a gazebo on a 14 by 14 deck next to it. Rocked a section for tables. Its almost like an outdoor restaurant now.
