Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Sadly, there has been quite a bit of criminal activity happening over the past week or so... one criminal act has led to innumerable criminal acts.  And the main perpetrator of the initial criminal act, is on suicide watch in his cell.

Damaging businesses and robbing them is criminal too.  So is burning and vandalizing public buildings and burning police cars.

Yes.  That's part of what I was referencing with the 'quite a bit of criminal activity'.  It's a smorgasbord.  Arson, assault, looting, vandalism.... it's a long list of criminal activity.

We've had some protests over here, but if it's like they were a few years back, most people don't care other than right on millennials and the far left.

Moving on... It will be interesting to see if the NFL permit teams to host mini camps of some sort. With various team sports starting in Europe in the coming weeks, it will give a best practice template for NFL teams to follow. Life must move on at some point

It's likely they are discussing something for this coming month.  I would think it will be more than just a 2-3 day camp like most years.  Why bother, if you're then going to have over a month off until TC?  As noted a few days ago, some teams are in fact preparing for nothing until TC in August.

So maybe they devise something more substantial later in June.  Something like a 1-2 week OTA session.  Then another one in July.  Then start training camp at normal dates.

This is assuming covid hasn't resurged over the next 2 months and new hot spots don't erupt...

Well... the riots aren't exactly exercising social distancing, so we should know fairly soon if there is a major danger from this type of gathering... or any gathering of that size.   Sort of a nice to have so many petri dishes incubating for everyone to study.

sigh...

When is Ertz up for a new contract? Next year? He's been a favorite target for Wentz but that's also because he hasn't had many reliable receivers

Lol remember when there were complaints about his toughness because he went down before contact?

NFLPA already said they aren’t doing anything after June 26th until TC, since that’s what the CBA says

Not to compare situations but most people who are protesting do so peacefully while a smaller portion of this group causes riots, chaos, etc.  Some of these people come from out of town just to cause trouble.  So essentially a small few make the entire group of protesters look bad.  Just like the cops in this case that killed Floyd.  They are bad cops and should be punished appropriately.  Not just them but others around the country, a small portion, give all the good and hard working cops a bad name.

It's too bad because nobody will be able to trust each other anymore.

This is a fing disgrace

Yea, this is not about civil rights anymore...

Makes you wonder if even the arrests of the 3 other cops would slow it down now.

They were trying to arrest barbers and people going to church but allow this with zero social distancing

total trash

Boston does not look good...

Had this discussion with the wife. My opinion is it wouldn’t do a damn thing. I’m not even sure they could charge them with 3rd degree murder and have it stick which means if they arrested them now it would probably be for a lesser charge which would infuriate people more

It would likely be manslaughter.

Might just be a coincidence but after the Bengals game where he moved out of the way instead of blocking a linebacker gunning for wentz, it looked like he became slightly more physical. He still gets almost zero yards after the catch but he isn't a giant V anymore.

But boy did he get reamed by fans after that game, and rightfully so

And to be fair I think those criticisms were absolutely just at that point. He did play a little soft and he did only seem to turn up after our season was over.

But man has he turned that around.

Teams could still hold "non mandatory” camps, right?

Gentleman, I know it's miniscule in comparison to George Floyd's death, additional police violence, the destruction of our great cities, senseless beating of other Americans and additional deaths during the riots (why doesn't the media even mention these?) but we are going to see pre-game political demonstrations from players like we have never seen before.

Get ready for a year of sports where the actual games take a back seat to the corona virus and players making their voice heard.  I can't wait for sports to be here but I want them as en escape from this horrible reality we are going through right now.  I don't see that being the case.  Might be a good idea for the NFL to just scrap the National Anthem this year.  It's a shame that we were all on the same page in agreeing what a complete POS that officer was and how there needs to be justice but now our country is even further divided.

That is inexcusable. It sure seems like the Minneapolis PD needs a house cleaning.

Those were the National Guard.

Think I heard them saying it was the Minn State Police as well.  They tripled the police presence in that city with the above 2 groups and there was CLEARLY an increased aggressiveness mandated.  It's no coincidence there was no buildings burned down last night.

I have no issue with folks having their voices heard.  So what if that happens?  It’s nonviolent.  My son and I were at the Linc for the opener last year.  The two gentlemen in the seats in front of us chose to sit during the anthem.  They stopped their conversation when it started.  I appreciate the message. We celebrated together throughout the game. It took nothing from the game.

Pretty sure that is the National Guard.

Knowing how everyone is on edge there right now, I think I'm going inside (if they are screaming it at me) and coming back out as soon as they are up the street. What's the point of becoming another victim of overzealous enforcement?

It's a violation of Constitutional rights to shoot people sitting on their front porch.  It's inexcusable.  It speaks to poor training and a basic lack of human empathy.

All I'm saying is get ready.  Not saying good or bad.  Look at the uprise CK caused with kneeling during the anthem.  I just have a feeling that people would be happy with the kneeling compared to what we might be in store for.

For the record, I find it very disrespectful to kneel during the anthem but I do respect a players right to do what he wants.  What I hate is that we have fans all over who talk during the anthem, scream O during the anthem at an Orioles game, at Hershey Bears (AHL team) games they yell Go Bears DURING the anthem and countless other things that fans do that are just as bad if you ask me.  It's more of a performance now anyway.  You have to have fireworks during the anthem to match the words bombs bursting and people cheer.  It's become a joke.
