I had a liberating morning.  I unfollowed all of my friends on FB, only following groups or interest now (history, cooking, aviation and such).  Has severely cut down on the amount of stress I was causing myself in reading everyone's take on the current issues.  Twitter is next, not sure how to do it so I can still get the news that I want.

I actually just Temporarily deactivated my fb and instagram for that reason and some of the hateful back and forth convos between people who are "friends” on Facebook. Like there’s a lot of messed up things people are saying on both sides of the spectrum. So similar to you i was like I’m going to get off of here for a couple days/weeks then come back hoping that it’s not as stressful or ugly between people (don’t get me wrong there was also a lot of good convo and discussion but there was far more angst towards one another than that)

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I understand that there are plenty of United States Military veterans who agree with CK and worked with him on what they thought was appropriate and respectful.  I just happen to disagree.  I'm not saying I'm right, I just disagree and I explained my reasoning as did Drew Brees.

He didn't get it from the protests but it's likely he infected others at the protests

NFL players need to be careful when attending these protests

I think I saw Jenkins well covered.

One thing I just can't for the life of me get in to as a "healthy snack" are chick peas.  Even getting flavored ones doesn't help.  They are so insanely dry to me.  I don't like hummus either so it's a food I just can't get on board with.

i love chick peas in all forms lol. I will give you those dried chick pea snacks are pretty dry. But no Hummus? Wow, I am a big ol' fan of a cold dark beer, pretzels, and hummus

I think the problem is I've had store bought and it's just been entirely too salty.  @Iggles_Phan made some solid points and might be worth trying to create my own to my personal liking.

I can respect that, but at the end of the day, the military oath of enlistment says I will defend the constitution, not a flag or a song.  Additionally, the anthem and flag is for individuals to choose how they will show respect, not judge how others take that time.  If people are so worried about honoring the flag and anthem, go get all the people who are to busy in the beer line and make sure they come out and show respect.

Drew Brees is such a bad person. From this to his homophobic stances, it's all bad.

I wouldn’t go so far as to call him a bad person, but he certainly is ignorant in some ways.

just saw lol. Yes I also make my own hummus, and i agree with the baby carrot take (its my late night snack). Side note I came up with an amazing tahini-maple butter for biscuits. Life changing, and just 3 ingredients (butter, maple syrup, tahini). I prefer a 1-1-1/2 ratio with tahini being the half

Good comp. i had a convo with westbrook in tate. He reminds me of Chris chambers. Chambers had a little more height but athletically i think they are similar. I think reagor is more of a high 4.3 which is close to what chambers ran.

If you go back to a post I made a few days ago I said the same thing and I agree with you.  I absolutely hate hearing people at Orioles games scream OOOOO during the anthem or Hershey Bears games where they yell Go Bears! during the anthem.  Yes, the anthem is now more of a performance and and OOOOOO AHHHHH with the fireworks and stuff but there are some who still hear that anthem and it makes them think of what their relatives did.  I also think you have to look at the wars our vets fought in.  A WW2 vet is going to view the flag much different than a Vietnam or even Desert Storm vet.

When I hear it I close my eyes, think of my grandfather.  I think not only of him as the young guy jumping with the 101st but as the 93 year old man who as his skin deteriorated shrapnel would fall out that was buried in his skin for 70 years.  It just means more to me and that's why it means what it does to me.

whoa throwback! Chris Chambers love the comp (although I hope he is more productive than chambers)

I respect what it means to you, and it means that much to me and I will never kneel.  But it is not my job to police how others choose to show their respects.  I am oblivious to others during the anthem.

You’d hope to be more productive than chambers  In chambers defense he was productive his first 7 seasons (6 out of the 7) considering his starting QBs were Jay Fiedler, sage rosenthals, Gus ferotte, Joey Harrington, Aj feeley for the majority of it

I make my own. My barbecue sauce is brown sugar, sambal, soy sauce, and a few seasonings that vary, like star anise, 5-spice powder, garlic, ginger, etc. Whatever I'm in the mood for. For wings I'll dust them with baking powder to crisp them up and add the sauce when they're half done. I don't deep-fry anything except tonkatsu.

I'm not crazy about garlic parmesan sauce for wings but it's great on roasted cauliflower. Add a little cumin.

My garlic Parmesan. Is relatively simple. A stick of butter melted,  four minced garlic cloves or mashed crushed roasted garlic into a paste if you have the time, 3/4 of a cup of freshly  grated Parmesan, I like to chop some fresh parsley from the garden for a little color and I will play with spices like you so with your BBQ sauces, like red pepper flakes or oregano or cumin, sometimes some of my unsalted seasoned sauce, which is basically the spices in seasoned salt without the salt.  Even using my low sodium no aluminum baking powder to crisp bake my wings (also works on the grill), I find I don’t need to add salt to my wings sauces.
I don’t want to sound like I never use prepared sauces. I do.  I have a number I like.  My Giant sells a store made Carne Asada sauce I really like with shredded chicken.  Badia sells a good fajita marinade.  I like Guy Fieri’s barbecue sauces but I have a bunch I make myself. I will buy a good BBQ sauce at a joint if available.  Same with rubs.  But the commercial rubs go overboard on salt.  For sugars, I prefer dark brown, molasses and honey.
Question, how little soy sauce do you use?  I find soy sauce can over power.  How does the Sambal base compare with a Korean BBQ sauce?

And Colin actually reached out, said he wanted to meet with me. And we sat in the lobby of the team hotel, discussed our situation, our different opinions and feelings about all this. And I suggested him taking a knee instead of sitting even though I wanted him to stand, and he wanted to sit. And it was, like, this compromise that we sort of came to. And that's where the kneeling began.

Mincing garlic is SUCH a chore! ha.  Does minced in a jar count?
