Hey everyone, I know that the news of the moment is occupying everyone's mind, but I'm going to begin posting some old news articles in The 411 and wanted to mention it in here before I start.

The old news is from the 2017 season, I want those stories to be in our archive (both for us and for people searching Google, which may help boost the board in Google's index).

Why am I mentioning this in here (and in a post in 411)? Because I'm going to start with stories that were written starting with Carson's ACL and following all the way through to the parade. But I just wanted to make sure that I mentioned that I'm doing this because the first stories will talk about Carson having a torn ACL and I don't want anyone to freak out, thinking it's new news lol.

I just want to re-build some of our history, which was lost with the old EMB.

sounds good, distractions are good

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Thanks. My neighbor is ex military and he offered to come over with his cache of guns to keep the mob at bay, and i was like thanks Bro but well be ok. Hes a little on edge got some ptsd and i think all this stuff is triggering him😞

Yeah, probably best not to have him over. I have my own cache of guns but a person would literally need to be trying to get into my house or burn it down with us in it  for me to even think about defending myself. My stuff can burn I have insurance.

so stupid. So whats next season? December to march or are they permanently on this new schedule? They screwed up their entire next season.

yeah what happens after that, how do we catch up to the regular start dates? do they slowly move the playoffs earlier back in the year or do they immediately catch up with a super short offseason in 2021?

eh... I dont really believe that was the plan. I wonder if theres a different vehicle thats easier to get a resister in to. Though Id never think youd see 4 guys unable to get a guy in a patrol car. Floyd was a mammoth of a man, but I think they coulda gave him a couple jabs with a club and have him in.

A resister???A couple jabs with a club.???

I cant tell if youre joking or being stupid.

Next youre going to tell me he had sone weed in his pocket, or maybe skittles😒

From the video I saw, which doesn't give a clear view inside, it appears they never had him properly restrained in the car to start driving away, but he was definitely inside. Looks like Chauvin kinda just lost his patience, dragged him out and then put his knee on his neck to "calm him down". As for the rest, I have no idea which makes it so bizarre. From the leaked audio, it sounded like they were worried about agitated delirium. Maybe they were waiting for the ambulance to come so they could restrain him and get him medically/mentally checked? I dunno.

I can agree with that wording. In but not properly restrained. I feel like they might have had his butt on the seat but I dont think they ever really even got his legs and arms in.  I can totally see them going to a plan B after a few minutes of that BS struggle he put them through and he deserved a little club jabbing maybe. But I just really want to know whats supposed to be next from there.

There was an ambulance crew there at one point and Chauvin wouldnt let them check on him.

I’m not saying anyone should hate any group of people. I’m just saying some of the hatred can be understood. If you held a grudge would I condone it? No, but I could understand why you felt that way. There’s history.

My point is i don’t. I very very well could. Heck bobbywisdom came on here denying the Holocaust Straight  to my face. I didn’t hate him for it. My reasoning is I’m never going to change anyone by hating their ignorance and hanging onto hate is not going to change the past. Blacks and Jews imo have two of the ugliest past in terms of how people treated us throughout history. But I think holding a grudge for centuries or decades by people just leads to more angst and hate.

That’s what my question was and why isn’t their more outrage about it. That dbag should’ve been fired for allowing him to have that opportunity to even be out there if he was doing his job properly

Eh. I think you would need to see more detail on it before calling for the Police Chief to be fired. Chauvin was a cop for over 18 years. Of the 18 complaints, only 2 times was he reprimanded, the other 16 closed with no punishment per IA. And he's a rather new Police Chief, hasn't even been a full 2 years. I think he also deserves credit for firing all 4 as fast as he had. That usually doesn't happen.

Yeah police Chiefs change frequently. Usually a new mayor appoints his own guy. Surely this chief wasnt presiding over the entire checkered past of Chauvin's career.

Not many people are. One of the most frustrating things right now are those who are taking away from the point of the protest to focus on the riots and looting.

There have even been some protestors who have protected stores that some looters wanted to break into.

Also, the cops are inciting a lot of these riots. Some of the videos I have seen from police officers who have abused their power to screw with peaceful protestors is despicable and they should be terminated.

I agree with all this.

I can see that. I kind of feel like 2 reprimands needs to be either fired or moved to a desk job inside the department.  in my opinion it was a ticking time bomb waiting to happen when you have 18 incidents and 2 reprimands.

The people rioting and looting are opportunists taking advantage of the protest focus - they're not part of the protest. What angers me after the damage done to life and property by the rioting and looting is that the story becomes about the rioting and looting instead of about the purpose behind the protest. So please do not make the mistake of conflating the rioters and looters together with the protesters.

As for the cop - it's not a fore gone conclusion that he will go away for any time. That is one reason for the protests - too often the Bad Apple police have done similar only to disappear into the sunset.

I'm  not confusing protesting and looting. I support peoples right to peacefully protest.  I also agree there are outside influences at work trying to muddy the waters.

The only thing that will keep this cop from going to jail is if the AG overcharges him. I read that there was a movement to have him charged with 1st degree murder. For this to stick he would have planned to kill Mr Floyd even before the conflict occurred. You can get life for 2nd degree just as you can 1st degree.

Unless something surfaces from way out in left field regarding extenuating circumstances I hope this cop goes to jail for the rest of his life.

A side note there are only 3 states that recognize 3rd degree murder. Minnesota being one of them

Damn. I am letting my wife do any interactions with the police.

I dont think its anyone's place to tell Drew he dropped the ball at all. And Drew should not listen. Thats a matter of opinion which he should be entitled to. He said nothing wrong. The ball was dropped when kneeling was the means of protesting. Thats the ball that was dropped.

Pretty sure the police chief (I could be wrong on this) was the first to say that the other 3 police officers were also complicit in Floyd’s death and he said it in an interview days before they were even charged.   That’s pretty bold, given the circumstances and the fact that you very rarely hear a police chief basically say his own officers should be charged before the DA/prosecutor even charges them.

Did you see how his family lives when he was on QB1 on Netflix?  Southern, gun toting family.

Not defending his words but are private texts no longer private?  Did a friend rat him out?  Did his carrier turn it over?

That doesn't mean they're like that

Here's the texts though

Why aren’t they firing the police Chief that allowed this cop to continue to work after 18 complaints?

Also why aren't the killers of Breonna Taylor arrested yet

So during all of the "protesting" there have been more deaths.  Why is there no outcry for justice for David Dorn?  Former police chief, Affrican American shot and killed on FB Live while defending a storefront.  People just watched him bleed out on a live feed.

I'm not trying to downplay the death of George Floyd.  First and foremost we need to clean up our police officers and do they best we can to weed out the bad apples and train new officers proper policing techniques.  However, if our cities are being destroyed in the name of  justice and equality, David Dorn better be right up there with George Floyd.

I spend a little time in Cvon from time to time and that is of course where discussion like we've had today is supposed to be had. I have to say that the blog handled it way better than I've ever seen it handled over there.

I appreciate the discussion that those that agreed and those that have disagreed with me have had together here today. I appreciate that we could have this discussion for the most part civilly.

He did. He has not held back at all on any of this and has been very quick to act in his power while being respectful and professional. I do think the Minneapolis PD need to look into why Chauvin was allowed to work in the position he was in, as well as Tou, one of the other cops who had 6 or so cases including one that is still open, but I don't know how much blame the Chief should get in any of it.

Drew Brees entitled to his opinion, Kapernick not entitled to kneel.

What if drew brees knelt and Kap said what brees said?

Would you feel the same?

That was some grade A flirting at first.  Calling him Silly Billy.  She was after it.  I think he was trying to make a joke and it just went the complete wrong way.  As always, the headline doesn't tell the whole truth.

Could have said "Fromm jokes that elite white people should have guns".   Nope
