But can I have a hoagie without pickles?  I grew up in the south and prefer my sandwich not buried in mayonnaise.

I personally don't even like mayonnaise in my fridge for guests, because the sight of it makes me slightly nauseous.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

As time goes on discussing salary is becoming less and less taboo. Workers should discuss compensation and ensure they aren’t getting screwed over. It also is easier now that the internet exists and we can all see salary ranges for any given position.

Nobody discussed their salaries when I joined the workforce (2004).  I was/am in a commission based industry, and if you complained about your salary or asked for a raise, the response was "Make more deals/sales and give yourself a raise."  Nobody questioned it.  If you did, you were probably fired.  Being in a leadership position now, I am responsible within parameters to negotiate the salaries of my employees.  One morning they all had their paylocity paychecks pulled up on their computers, and they were all openly talking about their salaries/commission reports.  That was a fun day..........

the insults like goofball and nincompoop were purposely kept elementary to be as non-offensive and maybe even funny as possible. Dont cry too hard.

My salary is a matter of public record.  So, I don't know what y'all are talking about.  🤷‍♂️

Sorry, that is a narrow version of political discourse and our history.  Such is probably driven by twitter and 24/7 news.  We have always had boisterous and full discourse.  The pendulum swings and eventually the more vocal extremes realize that the pendulum spends most of its time in the middle and compromise prevails.

I'm talking about just how both parties react with one another in life outside of it.

As I said, both sides are stoking division so all that matters to run is which letter is by your name.

It why such horrible people are there.

I don't remember anyone being demonized for being in one political party or the other until Citizens United passed and it's all about who can race the most money.

Maybe I'm incredibly ignorant in that but I lived in 4 or 5 different states of both blue and red and never seen anything close to today.

Typically corrupt people will raise more money by leaps and bounds.

It's why our system is so broken.

Speaking of Mayonnaise, I just found out some people use that on the outside of their bread to make grilled cheese and that just sounds gross

There's a reply to that tweet that's pretty good. Lots of celebrities have promised to bail out protestors. Would be nice to see them bail out businesses that have been looted or at least help

There's a fund for that too, at least in Minneapolis.

Mayonnaise is about 95% oil (just in an emulsified form).  So, what it really does is put a frying medium on the bread for more browning.   Its not much different from buttering the bread and then putting it on the griddle. The fat in both cases allows for better heat transmission from the griddle to the bread, and browning.  I've never done it, but that's the science behind it.

This angers me more than anything else that has happened in 2020.  I kid of course.

Among business contacts in the industry I’ll discuss salary, but never within the company I work with; people are just too petty.  When I accept a position I negotiate a salary, benefits, etc.  If someone I work with asks me what I make, I tell them "I make what I negotiated ".

I used to work with a guy whose attitude was ‘if we discuss what each other is getting paid, one of us will walk away pissed off’.  I always believed that to be true, and still do.

socio economic equality would be a good start.

Capitalism creates competition for resources which in turn creates aggression for acquisition of said resources resulting in exploitation of the weak.

80% of stock in the US is controlled by the top 10% of the population.

Around the world 80% of the worlds resources are controlled by 10% of the population.

Redistributing wealth resources goods and decreasing inequality in theory decreases aggression.

4 people in america have more wealth than the bottom half of america combined.

Restructure the tax code, provide universal health care, give living wages, decrease military budget and police spending. Put more towards education protecting infrastructure and protecting the environment. Elect government officials that serve and protect the peoples interests not corporations and the working class.

These are all steps that can foster equality and decrease aggression towards other over competition for resources.

Knowledge is power. If I know someone is making 10K more than me in the same position then I know what I can negotiate for next time or I will simply feel comfortable moving on elsewhere. I don’t think someone should get pissed off, you agreed to work at that number. Just take that information and do with it what you will.

I always tried to evaluate my own performance with a critical eye and put a price on what I thought I was worth. Most of the time my employer met or exceeded that.  I didn’t care what my peers were making.  I also didn’t care if my employees discussed their salaries.  I would be honest about their performance and why they were being paid. If they brought up a coworker I would tell them I wouldn’t discuss a coworker’s salary as it was a matter of privacy.  I offered on a few occasions to let them to invite the coworker into the discussion and we could check if they wanted to discuss performance and evaluation.  No one took me up on that offer.  I believe I was always fair within my budgetary constraints.  I never had a direct report employee leave for a lateral position but I am proud of the ones that left for a higher level position.

Citizens United is a Supreme Court case.  Montana has a great law in response.  It’s a disclosure law because free speech is not guaranteed to be anonymous speech. We should pass that in PA and nationally.  We should also seriously consider an amendment that a business entity like a corporation, partnership, joint venture is not a person within the meaning of the Constitution.  Those two things would reign in a lot of Citizens United.  Challenge you representatives on this.  They are easy to email.   Go to town halls and bring it up at the microphone.  Too often we complain of not having a voice when we don’t try to exercise what voice we have.

The calories for mayonnaise are outrageous for the value.  A good aioli is better.

Are you talking about during the interview/hiring process to negotiate your salary?  Or are you talking about discussing with each other while employed?

That came off really insincere.  Maybe the league needs to reevaluate policing things like marijuana use.  At my employer a DUI didn’t get you suspended, it got you an offer for counseling and a prohibition from driving for a period on behalf of the company.
