I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Calm down Conan the Grammarian it's just a joke that started about 2 years (maybe more) ago

I didn't even know how to pronounce it not so long ago.

I agree and I don't even understand it. It's not like they're being asked to wrestle alligators or something. Any store I go into the mask goes on, that's not about my freedom, it's about caring about others.

My "net worth" has bounced back pretty decently. But your original point is correct. I can't get any of our stupid customers to wear masks anymore, but we have to.

I am still down about seven percent from the highs. Bonds, oil and bank stocks mostly. They’ll bounce back.  The stocks of mine that are down from overall highs pay great dividends and those still continue. They are meant to be income stocks more than growth stocks.

I get that.  Does it make it any better?

Anyway, I don’t mean to be hypocritical since I’m taking my son to Universal Studios today.  But Universal Studios (at least) has implemented requirements such as face masks and they take our temperature before admittance.  I know it’s not perfect but at least they have guidelines.  And I’ve already explained to my son that if I see people there all over each other, we aren’t staying.  It’s a matter of principle at this point, imo.

Anyway, that’s the first thing I saw when I logged onto the Blog this morning.  Rant over.

Same for me.   And no, it's not better.  But, people have always 'acted the fool' to be close to celebrities.  It's embarrassing really.  I've never understood it.   There are very few people (and by very few... I think I could count that number on one hand.... and frankly, am having a very difficult time thinking of anyone at all at this point) that I would ever wait in a crowd like that, just to get a glimpse of.

Good.  It would be a shame to take a fish like that out of the water just to be a trophy.

The stupidity of people who can't figure out how to properly wear one is equally infuriating.

I think you also have to take positive testing and spikes  with a grain of salt too.  If they are testing positive and hospital ridden, then yea that's a problem.  If they test positive and are asystematic then if you ask me the problem is going away and life needs to move on.

I think why you are seeing "ignorant people" is because not one source is consistent with their message.  CDC, WHO, Government...they all change daily.  Just yesterday the WHO came out and said te virus most likely can't spread by asystematic people.  If that's the case then that's why you see people out in larger crowds.  You can't trust anyone, they all contradict each other and don't share the same message.  Tom Wolf on Monday said that NO masks are not required but businesses should require people to wear them.  It doesn't even make sense.

The George Floyd protests/riots, which have been going on for 2 weeks now,  are what really pushed people over the edge.  Just weeks prior to these we had conservative heavy reopen state protests all over the country.  They were chastized by governors, mayors and the media.  People were called cowards by Tom Wolf only to see him marching shoulder to shoulder a few weeks later.  The media and blue check mark social media community pushed the message that these reopen protests were all about people wanting to get haircuts when in fact the majority of people were those with businesses who just want to open their doors back up so they can survive.

You can't say that one form of protest is bad just because you don't agree with it and then 2 weeks later show your support your protests that help your political agenda and tell us that everyone has the right to protest.  Sorry, that message is just going to make people tune you out all together.

We've been told that if we don't show any empathy towards the 100k that have lost their lives due to Covid that we are bad people with no hearts.  Think about those who have lost loved ones but can't visit them in the hospital or have a funeral.  Shame on Americans for not caring about those people just because you don't agree with the shut down.  Then we see George Floyd paraded around with 4 different funerals in a gold plated coffin surrounded by people.  It's unfortunate what happened but why does he get 4 services when 100k+ were told no funeral, no family members.

People are fed up with double standards, misinformation, being treated with a lack of respect and losing everything they've worked for.  Shoot, I got a pizza here in York and I wasn't allowed in without a mask but not one employee (they had 5 behind the counter) had on gloves, hairnet or masks and they were preparing all of the food.  What are we even doing?

If only I ever get the chance... I really enjoy an oily fish though... so that's good to know.     I suppose with the mercury levels that would have to be in a fish like that, its not a fish that one should eat frequently anyway.

I believe it was the right decision to let him walk but I wish he was still an Eagle. Leadership and passion will be missed.

I'm sorry. There has been exactly ONE case in my county.

Why should we live under the same restrictions as people who live in cities where there are lots of cases?

How do you get it lit?

Incidentally, whomever it was from WHO that said that, has backtracked from that statement.

I’m happy your county appears unaffected. What’s the downside of wearing the mask at grocery stores?

The thing is, it is disrespectful of the people around you not to wear one.

They aren't stupid they just don't care enough to wear it properly.

Are your borders shut down to people from other counties? You can get it from someone pumping gas ahead of you or sneezing/coughing on their hands and then touching a knob. This isn't meant to be a sermon.

Let’s discuss York County as I live here too.  Despite being next to Lancaster and close in size, abutting Harrisburg and having a ton of folks who work in Baltimore and even DC, we have done a great job of controlling the virus.  Why? Because we show common sense for the most part on social distancing and we wear masks.  Please tell me what pizza place that is so I don’t go there.  The virus is still around.

Didn't see that yet.  But that's half the point I'm trying to make.  They are so quick to publish this information.  What do we believe?  What organization has the true numbers?  Everyone has the angle they want to push.  You can make it look worse than it is, you make things look better than they are.  But who do we go to for trusted information?  That's the frustrating part for a lot of us I would assume.

When you have information overload and none of it is the same it's so much easier to say F this, I'm doing what I think is right for me.

One case from the tests. That really doesn’t guarantee just one case.  No one is saying close everything down where you live, just take sensible precautions.

And we do. I'm just getting tired of people expecting others to bow to the mob.

It doesn't work and the backlash is likely to be severe.

Lol.

The WHO doctor explained her initial response to a journalist on asymptomatic transmission likelihood.  We don’t know.  I don’t think it is misinformation as opposed to this is what we think we know at this point.  I can see her initial answer making sense.   It seems likely transmission is by respirating droplets.  Well if you are socially distant, wearing a mask and not coughing or sneezing because you have the disease with no symptoms, you are probably unlikely to spread the virus, but we don’t know that for sure.

Parma Pizza on Haines Rd.  I look at Lancaster and HBG as almost extensions of Philly cuz of the workforce that commutes.  I'm sure they had a good number of essential employees still commuting out of county to Philly.  I work in Cumberland County (currently remote) so I track their numbers too and out of all their deaths I want to say they had only 1 that wasn't in a nursing home so while the virus is out there it's still contained unfortunately to these homes.

No doubt it's still out there.  Still need to take precautions but my feeling is things will get back to normal quicker than we think.  Will be interesting to see if this new bill that ends the emergency order actually does anything.

The mob is people who wear masks in public?
