Not sure if this has already been brought up, but has anyone sent a PM to Veejer in the old place telling him about the new boards? Hopefully he would see it before it shuts down.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I don't buy it! Whoever you are, you're over-doing it with the grammar typos.

If you're the real guy, then find your original avatar and change to your screen name.  You don't have to worry about bans here.

This will help me believe you:  what are your thoughts on Veejer?  AFan?

I don't care who it is.  If its him, or someone trying to pretend to be him... either way, he gets the same treatment from me.

Who were some of everyone's favorite UDFA signings of all time? successful or not. Here's a few of mine since about 2010 or so on.

Walter Mendenhall was Rashard's brother, just hoping he was good.

DeAndre Brown from Southern Miss, big WR 6'4"? was a stud in college until he broke his leg in half, literally.

Graig Cooper RB from Miami

Cliff Harris DB from Oregon

Trey Burton, Biased but he turned out just fine.

Devante Davis a big WR from UNLV

Byron Marshall RB from Oregon

Jerod Evans a QB from Va Tech Broke a bunch of records and left way too early, thought he might grow into a solid backup.

Jeremy Reaves Safety from South Alabama. Some Draft people had him as a 3rd round grade, i thought he was making this team and taking the 3rd safety role. Is he even in the league anymore?

I loved Cliff Harris, thought we got a steal. Turns out he wasn't only a knucklehead, but he couldn't play either.

1. So far it was Sidney Jones, you can double check me in the old boards IWTETG thread for him. I was very against him, his film against juju in college and other no name larger WRs was very concerning to me. I thought in the 2nd round we got better value on him, and the achilles most certainly could be a factor.

2. Homer bias aside. Matt Elam former Florida gator, 1st round pick of Ravens. We needed some safety help and he could do it all in college, huge hitter and rangy in coverage. To this day im not entirely sure why he couldn't do it in the nfl. We didn't do much better in adding a safety that year as we took Wolff and Poyer (who obviously we should have kept)

3. Honestly it was Shady, 5'11 and closer to 190 lbs playing weight at Pitt. Just thought he was too small and added weight would kill his speed. Came in at the combine at 198 and then played closer to 210 here and didn't lose a step. I was very wrong. I was sadly in the Beanie Wells camp that year...ah young and naive Gator 12.

4. I'm adding a player i was absolutely stoked the eagles got and was wrong about: Macho Harris, monster at Va Tech, His one year here was decent at best and i thought he would continue to grow. Gone after a year and basically out of the league. Honorable Mention: Casey Matthews

Thanks for the work on the boards.

4.  My reaction was exactly the opposite on Harris.  My thought was "a friggin boundary corner that is slow? How the ‘f’ does he fit our scheme.”  Oh play him as a hybrid. Nah. I was right about that one.  Come to think of it, I think my reaction on Douglas was "great, another slow corner.”  E45 wants speed with his WRs.  I think I have a similar bend on outside CBs and I like interchangeable Ss with speed.  Fluid hips on CBs and instincts at S.

Rumors flying around that the Raiders and Jags are coming to terms with a trade for Yannick.

Total Confessions time:

  1.  Which player that the Eagles took were you MOST disappointed in and were RIGHT?
  2.  Which player did you ABSOLUTELY think the Eagles HAD TO GET, they didn't and he turned out to be a complete BUST?
  3. Which player were you disappointed the Eagles took and were WRONG?

Love this.

1.  Shockingly, this one isn’t the place to gloat.  Most picks fail and it doesn’t take genius to dislike a pick.  But here they are: Fredex, Jordan Matthews, Matt Mccoy, Reggie Brown, JJAW, Huff, Bryan Smith, Marcus Smith, Danny Watkins, Jarrett.

2.  Perriman.  Not a total bust but a disappointment: Bud Dupree.

3.  Graham.  Still don’t think he was great value given the other options on the board, but he certainly turned into a player.

The major eagles picks I loved and was wrong about: Bunkley, Demps, Gibson, Hollins.

Now that’s a bust and overdraft of epic proportions.    I was under the impression the criteria was Eagle draft picks.

Nah... the 2nd question is for anyone you really really wanted the Eagles to get (Eagles' pick or anyone) and it was just a nightmare as it turned out.  Getting a great trip down memory lane from these names.

Matt Jones!  Wow.  Yeah, I bought into that hype.

so has anyone ventured a guess as to what time the Eagles will actually make their pick?

7 minutes, 20 picks ahead of us.....Im guessing somewhere around 10-10:15?

Yeah, I think the fact that Shady came to the Eagles at 20 years old really helped.  He wasn't close to fully done maturing his body, so adding that weight was seamless.

At least they ended up getting a good pick back for Kolb from Arizona a few years later but yeah that sucks.

I thought Kolb was a value pick. Extremely accurate at UH and tough because the Cougs OL couldn’t block.  I was very familiar with his play.   Not the strongest arm but he was accurate.   That knockout concussion David Carred him, which I never saw coming.  I thought a QB whisperer like AR could cure him of his biggest college flaw, which was staring down WRs.

My favorite Trent Williams moment of all time.

D bag Sherman with the nervous laugh afterwards

Kind of a D move doing it with his helmet still on though.  Sherman likely deserved it, but when you have 100 lbs on a guy, I don't think you need a helmet too.

Just listened to the Tie Domi interview on Angelo's show.  Dude's pretty awesome.

Sat next to penalty box couple decades ago. I was heckling him, he was great. Laughed the whole time.
He landed a couple shots on somebody and gave me the belt thing that he was "the champ”.

Very True

2nd fight with Bob Probert was awesome.  Domi thought he won the 1st fight (draw at best) and then Probert destroyed him.

This was back when there was an unofficial heavy weight championship for Enforces/Fighters

That video is hilarious.

Funny, both Kiper and Daniel Jeremiah have Jefferson going ahead of the big 3 (2nd behind Lamb for DJ) in their final mocks.

I just don't get it with Lynn Bowden - not that he can't play, he's definitely got some juice but I hate positionless players; they almost never work out.

Research him some more.  He's not a positionless player.  He's a slot WR who can be moved around creatively.  He played WR at Kentucky, and only moved to QB because the team needed him to, because they had no one else available to play at a high enough level and he was athletic enough to be able to.

Day 1 - he's your top returner and a slot WR.

Down the road, he could move into a lot of creative situations, wildcat QB, 3rd down back, slot WR, etc.   But, that's because of what he actually offers, not because he can't play slot WR at a high level.  He's got speed, quickness and toughness.  Also really good hands.  His route running might be a little raw due to missing a year of development due to playing QB out of necessity.

But, Bowden is not some freakish athlete that the team couldn't figure out how to use... or a QB that was converted to WR.  He's a WR that played QB due to need, not because he couldn't hack it at WR.

No problem! just using my little knowledge i know to help!

I really thought Macho was best suited for safety and we put him there, He did okay i thought. Coming into camp the next year they moved him back to corner, then Lindley beat him out if i remember correctly, then they moved him back to safety for the last preseason game but the damage was done he was just bottom of the depth chart so they cut him. I thought we would regret that choice. We did not lol.

I got the honor of watching Douglas at WVU in person a lot, i remember thinking almost the same thing. This guy had the skill to be a really solid free safety in my opinion in college. I know people say that transition isn't as easy as we act like it is, but still thought we should have tried.

They hit much higher than the pac 12, that cannot be even remotely debated

There’s no denying that most of the talent comes from the SEC but to start the rah rah only SEC players chant is just lazy.

I thought about Randy Gregory. Thought the cowpads got a steal in the second because of his character flaws.  Oops

1. Danny Watkins.  I had a near meltdown on draft day...and I ended up being right about that one.

2. I was pretty upset when they took Josh Huff in the 3rd round (Actually was right about that) and a few picks later, Donte Moncrief was taken.  I had a late 1st round/2nd round grade on Moncrief, so I thought he would have been the steal of the draft in the 3rd round...... and although he wasn't a complete "bust" I projected for him to have a better career.

3. I really can't think of one off the top of my head.  I'll just say JJAW for now and just keep my fingers crossed that I was wrong about him.

He is still my number three as I don’t know if I believe the concern with Jeudy.  I do think he is the first round choice with the lowest possibility of a flop.

He seems to have decent league connections. He projects Murray, saying he expects us to target safety or linebacker over WR.

My guess is that his league sources aren’t in Philly.
