The speed factor could make it possible that we see Taylor on the field right away with a very basic 'see ball, get ball' disposition.  Schwartz could build around him schemewise, with Taylor learning on the fly (think Keith Adams), and initially, only playing 1st and 2nd downs.

What could go wrong?

yeah its kinda ridiculous how everyone waited on them and they said, youre on your own.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Bryce Harper said if there's no season he would sign a one year deal to play with the Eagles. If he can add some bulk he could be our new LB

Converting MLB games to NFL, he's like $3M for the year

What about Trout? I'm sure he will want something to do if there is no season and he can't sit in his box.

Seems I need to go back on another rant about people dismissing Miles Sanders too soon.

So, I introduce for your approval, "The EMB Eagles Blog 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic Patience Act"

We the below signed Blog members do solemnly swear, that on this date, June 15th, 2020, that they will reserve judgement on the incoming class of draftees until at least week 10 of the regular season, and not use the terms "Bust", "Reach",  or "Wasted Pick" until at least more than 50% of the regular season of games has been played out.  Terms like "disappointing", "underachieving" and "underwhelming" are permitted, but only with the caveat that "it's still early and there's time for him to turn it around" be implied, if not actually stated.

I swear.

Sure.   Hammer the crap out on a player that produces like JJAW... but I'm asking for folks to wait until week 10.  That's after they would have played 9 games... I think that's reasonable.  I mean, it's still too early to truly judge.  Brian Westbrook did pretty much squat-ah as a rookie.  But, had the luxury of sitting behind Duce Staley and Correll Buckhalter at RB and even Brian Mitchell, as a returner.     But, one year later, he was part of the 3-headed monster.  And 2 years later, he was the most dangerous player on the field for the Eagles.

I highly doubt that JJAW will follow that career trajectory, but he's not dead in the water yet.  They have a lot of speed at WR now... but he's really the only 'size' WR they have, after Jeffery, whom I doubt will dress even once this year.  So... he offers something different, maybe he can become serviceable.  That won't make him a great pick by any means, but it might at least make it look a little better than it does right now.

Pinkston had similar numbers to JJAW as a rookie with 10 catches 181 yards and zero tds then followed up with 586 and 4 tds on 42 catches.

I could see jjaw having a similar trajectory. Hes not going to have the yards/ catch that pinkston had but if he can have around 40 catches at about 11 to 12 yards/ catch and 4 or 5 tds that could be a good sign.

Pinkston was a Z and JJAW is an X so its not perfect comparison but its an example of a WR that didnt produce much as a rookie to take a significant jump 2nd year, one of the obvious differences is pinkston had the benefit of a full off season and training camp without restrictions.

We'll see how JJAW does.

Still seems too rich... I mean, he's got less experience than Taylor, and I doubt he has that level of speed.

Anyone else's cell phones gone dead? Twitter is buzzing about a possible DDoS attack. T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T all have mass outages. Mine wont make any calls.

DDoS?

Is that like MSDos?

My phone isnt dead cuz im typing on it right now😄 but yeah tried calling my pops and no luck, so maybe the network is down, there is chatter all over the web that verizon t mobile have lost coverage over certain areas, im guessing its the pre cursor to the Alien attacks😊

Distributed Denial of Service. Basically corrupted programs flood service providers and overwhelm them to the point they stop functioning. T-Mobile is definitely down for me and my family, but reports of all other major carriers being down too makes it seem suspicious.

Gorsuch was a big surprise.

Yes and no.  It says what it says. Just like with contract law, you don’t go with extrinsic evidence unless there is an ambiguity. Apparently Alito was trying to assert this but he had to go to what he asserted might be in the extrinsic record and then quote the dictionaries ad nauseous. In my mind, he gets a D in class where Gorsuch understood there was no ambiguity and followed precedence on the interpretation of Title VII  I was surprised Gorsuch wrote the opinion. Not really seeing a lot of distinction between Alito’s dissent and Kavanaugh’s except, Kavanaugh at least tried to use precedence, albeit unrelated to Title VII interpretation for the most part.  (I really need to read the robber baron decisions on beans and tomatoes at some point). Thomas continues to demonstrate an inability to articulate his own position. He does realize that under Alito’s reasoning (which he joined) he couldn’t be married to his wife, doesn’t he? You’re the lawyer, not me, but that is the way I see it.

This has been NCIggles and BigEFly geek out on the law, we now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

I was able to call my wife.  But she ignored the call, which is normal for us.

At this point, would make sense for 2020.

You knew that was coming. Been on the idea no baseball this year for a while. Too much greed on owners and even the players side to get something done.

I thought the commissioner could, at a bare minimum, force a 48 game season. Is that off the table now?

He can but i have a hard time seeing players just showing up for it especially if they aren’t getting paid like they want add on some players don’t want to be in the conditions (living and health) they’ve put out. Frankly that’s been the last resort option but I’ve always thought more players would just give the owners the finger and not show up claiming heath reasons with covid 19 when really i think majority of players it came down to getting money and ditto for the owners

Both sides.  Neither side really wanted to give in and recognize that there was more at stake than just the money they are going to lose.  They lost a huge fan share when they had their lockout in 1994.  Having no season at all is going to be very hard for the sport to come back from.  They are going to lose more fans, no doubt about it.   The sport has been losing ground for a while, and this will precipitate a greater loss of fans.

So... Ezekiel Elliot has contracted Covid.   So, here's what that can teach us.  Don't cut the belly portion of your shirt off and use that as a face mask.  It doesn't work.
