I would argue that the legalization of gay marriage was saltational.

Another good example of a issue with a generational time frame

my kids generation thinks nothing of it

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

No one is saying don't protest, I think many of us have made that crystal clear.  We have all agreed with the problems at hand and want the same justice for all.  We just ask that for those 2 minutes to not protest.  Malcolm Jenkins now has a role with CNN to continue his conversation on race.  He now has an even bigger platform for his actual voice.  Why keep alienating so many people who are on your side despite not agreeing with the flag protest?  The flag and the Anthem mean something different to every single one of us.  I get it, there are veterans who support the kneeling but there's also the other side who don't.

Again, there is never going to be an end to this discussion and disagreement.  The same points are being said over and over again, myself included.

Well said.....we all need to realize that we arent going to agree on everything and that's OK.  Its fine to voice an opinion and disagree with someone as long as you are not putting someone down or degrading them.

I dont feel Brees should have apologized.  I dont agree with what he said but he didnt put anyone down.  Just gave his opinion on the flag and what it means to him and he didnt agree with kneeling.  Doesnt mean players cant continue to do so if they want.

Interesting use of saltational. Son of a geologist, my instant take was what does that have to do with the migration of a grain of salt.  I take it you meant in the evolutionary sense. But I would argue it wasn’t abrupt but rather an incremental migration from demand for the right to civil unions laws, some level of civil disobedience in the issuing of wedding licenses and in performing marriages which ultimately resulted in conflicting decisions and finally a decision by the Supreme Court.

All within the span of ten years or so.

well, I think some of them would split the class in two groups who would never mix.

OK, but still...I don't see how there would be much benefit to this at all past making lives really difficult.

It will.

As much as its a hassle to home school and its certainly not as effective as being in class with a real teacher, my wife and I are not opting to send our son to a different school with different kids so he can go 5 days every week. Im afraid thats the option most will choose just because it makes it easiest for most people who work to have their kids in school all 5 days.

For me I think it should be home school or just do it 5 days. They can make it like college where MWF classes are in the morning and Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, so the different groups still don't have to see each other. All the breaks and days off and the rest just seem ridiculous to me. Still being exposed to the kids in your group and anyone they have in contact with essentially. Whatever. Not my problem either way.

Your paragraph reads exactly like when somebody says something like, "I don't mean to sound like a prejudiced, racist, hateful person, but..."  and goes on to say the most prejudiced, racist, hateful s***.

C'mon, man...

no, you just read it that way. He's saying masks should not be a political issue (science, b****), but some people are using them for that and they are idiots.

another awesome video imo from this guy.

He has videos recently about the moral foundation theory and accepting the other side whether or not you agree. But today's video he tells a great story about where he was actually exposed to the other side of the why people feel a certain way.

Love this channel. I recommend a watch. This guy is great for those who embrace the growth mindset we used to think was cool when Chip was cool and talked about it.

Does this mean you’ll stop responding to posts by saying "wrong?”

Anyone want to rip your hair about what could have been but also enjoy amazing defense?

not when theyre wrong. I only say that after careful consideration of their stance.

If you think that vid could have been a turning point for me, you should have seen the one I posted previously in here where he really goes deep in to the moral foundation theory. It was way better than this one even. The reason I liked this was that he applied that, but instead of just considering the other side like he talked about before, this time he spoke about experiencing the other side. Took things a step further which was neat to hear.

Really love his vid on the moral debate over masks. It applies to everything we discuss in here and the blog would be a billion times better than it it is now (Even though I think we did pretty well recently) if everyone here would watch that vid. I wish everyone in the world would watch it.

More like 40. Stonewall was 1969. In terms of our history, this was immediatism, so, not bad at all.

Thanks. It goes back much further than Stonewall culturally and legally though.  But the issue that Desertbirds is pointing to is an incremental step towards a much broader matter. We each individually and as a society and a nation take steps every day.

I remember talking to a gay friend about marriage. He was convinced that he would never see it in his lifetime. I was more optimistic than he was for his prospects. Not six months later everything changed.

This seems like the blink of an eye (top graph):

Top 3 defense all time.  Had absolutely no offense and spent almost entire games out on the field.

People don't relax anymore.   It's sad.   It makes me just want to sit amongst my tomato plants and talk to them.  They hear me, ya know.  Or... maybe they just don't judge me.

Do we even really know what the injury is? I can’t remember.

No, I read what he posted.  And I 100% agree with the statement wearing a mask should not be a political issue.  That ain't what he posted.  You can't have it both ways, no matter how badly the attempt to deflect the issue.
