Run out of defense mechanisms, liar?  You exposed your true colors today and many of us thought you were better. Not in the viewpoint but in your lack of intellectual honesty or logic. Shame.

the pathetic part of this is that you’re not capable of having someone disagree with you without the personal attacks and childishness  why are you so fragile?  It’s a discussion board

looking forward to the months of butthurt passive aggressive responses to this. Cheers

I like how the other day you told me you look forward to months of practice aggressive posts from me. Which was dumb since I've posted here for years and you should know that's not something I do. However you've done it multiple times since then.

Sad.

You were then, and remain, wrong. You threw a tantrum because you failed to admit you were wrong about the incident. You still are. The incredible thing is that you still don’t realize that you continue to prove my point...

I said you wouldn’t take the video you posted to heart and would instead revert to your norm. The hilariously pathetic part is you reply to another poster with the lie that you only post "WRONG” after careful consideration of their point.

so you prove me right, then reply to Me directly with another load of defense mechanisms and ego. The scary thing is I think you may be starting to believe your own bs...

In my past profession, we had many discussions about the degree of fault of the parent.  Ultimately, it is a losing argument in front of many juries.

Like it or not, juries tend to discriminate against companies.  Jury verdict research proves that out by just comparing verdicts for similar injuries in similar auto accidents where the defendant was an individual or a company. Fairness, justice with a jury can be fleeting.

Fair minded judges have nothing to do with most of it. All the judge is going to do is decide what the law is based on statute or case law.

Issues of fact lie with the jury.  So if the facts include a CDC warning against gatherings exceeding X and the football game exceeded X, if the facts show that the victim suffered from or died from COVID-19, if the facts show the victim sat in the section with a person that suffered from the same strain of COVID and that through contact tracing maybe even through help by the Eagles, well then there may be enough for a jury to fault.  Add to that issues of masks taken off and show in game footage , expectation of yelling and singing, maybe even the stadium crew playing Fly, Eagles, Fly after scores and maybe even that the other sufferer moved seats, a good plaintiff lawyer will argue are signs of negligence on the part,of the Eagles.  There may be a dispute as to who had the virus first but most cases aren’t won on the science.

Maybe the victim left behind a widow and a couple young kids. So now it’s not a person v a person but rather a widow and two young kids v a billion dollar entity (absent a punitive claim, worth doesn’t get presented to a jury but you can bet at least one juror will be aware of Wentz’s contract).

The jury will also thing they have plenty of insurance.  Now folks should think about insurance like tax.  Everyone pays for it so the bigger the hit to insurance the bigger the hit to your pocketbook.  I would suspect that every team already self insures to a high amount. $10s of millions most likely. I could also see the domestic market deciding a pandemic risk in a large stadium isn’t in their appetite. There is no actuarial data to base premium costs on so I would expect, at least to lower level domestic (US) policies they will face a pandemic or Covid-19 exclusion. But the jury doesn’t get evidence of insurance so they won’t know that.

So widow and two young kids have a higher likelihood of a verdict in their favor than you would suspect.

To JR’s point about the likelihood of a season, well insurance will play a part.  You would be surprised at how the size of balls shrinks when insurers say they won’t insure a risk.

Lots of good points here.  I think what will eventually happen is that insurance companies will set their own guidelines on what the league/teams need to do.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they have fans agree to some sort of mandatory mediation/arbitration (In states where those agreements are legal).  Maybe even print the waivers on the back of the tickets, etc.

Well said.....we all need to realize that we arent going to agree on everything and that's OK.  Its fine to voice an opinion and disagree with someone as long as you are not putting someone down or degrading them.

I dont feel Brees should have apologized.  I dont agree with what he said but he didnt put anyone down.  Just gave his opinion on the flag and what it means to him and he didnt agree with kneeling.  Doesnt mean players cant continue to do so if they want.

I disagree about Brees. If he thought about it, changed his perspective then he definitely should have apologized, if that's how he really feels. Since none of us know him I will take his words as truth

Sounds like too much nitrogen.  Are you using Miracle Gro?  That's not good for fruit, just green.  Need more phosphorus and potassium in the soil.  Try a fertilizer with low first number but high second and third.  Like a 5-10-10, 0-5-5 or the like.  That's (N-P-K). Added calcium is nice too to combat blossom end rot.   Did you plant indeterminate or determinate?  If planting indeterminate, pruning is very helpful to push out more fruit and less leaves.  I'll see if I can find you a youtube video on pruning tomato plants.  Lower leaf branches and even most just leaf branches can be pruned away safely.  Also pruning back suckers will force the plant to put more energy into the remaining stems, which includes more flowers, and therefore more fruit.

Give equal to the highest paid plaintiff, but the attorneys getting more than any of the plaintiffs isn't justice.

Attorney's fees are going to be less than what any individual plaintiff receives.  If there's a class action, then the class action attorney fees will be set a judge out of the common fund for the plaintiffs.  It's typically much lower than a 1/3 type fee that is used in litigation.  Keep in mind that it's not like PG&E will likely just roll over and pay.  You may have situations where PG&E wants to establish a common fund to compensate plaintiffs but individual plaintiffs may want to opt out and sue as individuals.  It really becomes quite complex.  While these cases can be lucrative, they tend to be long-term plays and require law firms to fund the suits heavily on the front end.  In a wrongful death suit, it's not unusual to front costs of 6 figures to obtain appropriate expert testimony.  This is in addition to the cost of just running a practice while the litigation is ongoing.

Early December, I believe. So 8 months take you to August, 10 months to October. While it's hard to imagine him being ready for the start of the season, it's not unreasonable to anticipate that Jeffery would be able to play at some point. Now, whether they truly want him back is another matter, though I suspect they do.

Don't count on it. I mean you're waiting for them to mature so that you can rip them from their life giving stems, that's why I'm against eating vegetables (not really but maybe plants have feelings too)

Nah, we have an arrangement.  Tomatoes 'know' they are one season plants, that's why they fruit so vigorously... to ensure that the next generation can sprout and repeat the cycle.   So, I promise them that as long as they make me happy, I will ensure that they always have a place in my garden.   Learned that one from my dad, and he's been growing backyard tomatoes since before I was born.  Has worked wonders for him.  And it's working its magic for me too.  A couple years ago, the tomato crops across the region were really down.  I forget exactly why that is, but that was the year that I bought some San Marzano plants.  Those suckers didn't seem to care that the rest of the tomatoes were down, they produced me a bumper crop... so much so that I had to can them to be able to use them all!  Since then, I've made sure to always have a pair of San Marzanos in the garden, in addition to my 'Amish Paste' tomatoes for sauces.   But, it's really about having a mixture... early fruiting, late fruiting, disease tolerant, fungus tolerant, etc.  Beefsteak style for sandwiches, Paste style for sauces... and have it all spread over the growing season.  I even cover them late in the season to try to squeeze out a few extra dozen tomatoes... It usually works (or at least that's what I tell myself).

The garden this year is for fresh veggies certainly... but it's really about mental health.  I need to 'get out' and do stuff.  This gives me the perfect excuse.  And since I've been basically stuck at home since the middle of March more than ever, I was able to give it more TLC, and expand the area a little.  The big question is whether or not the work I put in this year will allow me to maintain what I have created now into the future, when I likely won't have that time in the early season in future years.   I really need to just go whole hog and get all the beds raised up about another 2 feet minimum, but that's where the funds come in.  There's only so much funding available.

But, remember, you told me to eat healthier... and I told you I only like to eat what tastes good.  The backyard garden is the perfect mix of those.  You can't get better tasting veggies from a store.  You might get some stuff like this from a farm stand or even a farmer's market.  But, those produce stores don't cut it, and grocery stores... blech.  No comparison.   The celery I'm growing this year (first time) is the most 'celery-flavored' celery I've ever had.  It's super flavored.  It makes the stuff you get at the grocery store seem like its just water.   My celery is much less mature, but it's so much more flavorful, it's worth the effort.

My wife has a small garden, she loves messing around with it and I get to reap the rewards. I love fresh tomato sandwiches with mayo. Veggies will never take the place of meat in my life, but I have learned to enjoy them for what they are, healthy and tasty all at the same time, just not quite as tasty as a nice thick T-Bone

If I was going to make a Constitutional Amendment, it would be to get rid of the electoral college.

It's part of the checks and balances system.  It helps prevent "mob rule/group think".  The United States isn't a direct democracy, it's a Representative Republic.  The amount of electors a state has is in direct correlation with the amount of representatives they have in the House.  The "checks and balances" system is what makes/has made the U.S. system of government among the strongest in the world; among the strongest in history.  Smaller states have fewer congresspeople..they barely have a voice in the House.   The electoral college is a small part of the "checks and balances" system but it helps rural/smaller states have a voice in the executive branch as well.

And it's not as if the electoral college gives smaller states a big advantage...it is still based off of population....so states like New York, California, Texas, Illinois. Florida, Pennsylvania, etc still have the most power when electing the president... It's not a perfect system but it has sustained the test of time as being among the best in the world.

If I was allowed to grow my own meat stock in the backyard I'd do it.  I've talked to my wife about moving out to Chester or Lancaster County when we retire and set-up a little homestead... nothing fancy, just enough to keep me busy while I can still be busy like that.  And she's unequivocally told me that's not happening.   (But, I've got another 15-20 years to work on her.   This coronavirus outbreak opened her up to me getting to do pretty much whatever I wanted garden wise in the backyard.  So... who knows what the future will bring?  If this thing lingers, I just might get my wish on that.)

Here where I live in Canada they've begun opening up places like large shopping malls and dine-in restaurants; I'm somewhat of an antisocial person by nature, so the concept of social distancing isn't that difficult for me.  My wife, however, is much more social so she has taken me out shopping -- and it's been interesting to observe some of the behaviors in the general public.

When we go to Costco they suggest wearing masks, so my wife and I put on our masks.  I look around the store to see who isn't wearing masks -- mostly white people between 35-50 or so -- both men and women, surprisingly.  To generalize, I notice ALL Asian people wear masks no matter what age; I don't know if some of us whites don't understand the concept, or just feel too entitled to wear them.  I wear eyeglasses so I tend to get fogged up -- still wear the mask in public places, though.  I've looked online at a few methods of eliminating the fogging, as that's the only minor irritant I've had with the practice.

A couple of weeks ago I took my car in for scheduled maintenance and, since they don't offer wait area or shuttle service, we took public transit home.  The window near me was open and I must have inhaled some dust -- ended up coughing.  There were only 5 people on the bus but two heads shot around toward me like I'd just started a fist fight; my wife laughed and told me I was about to get kicked off the bus.  It made me laugh but she probably wasn't too far wrong.
