Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

We dont have it and if they want Dak to sign long term then Dallas doesnt have it either.

Safety is not worth big money deals.

We’re just going to reallocate your salary.

Because he’s the best safety in the NFL and only 24 years old? Safety money is usually reasonable in comparison to other positions.

I think it’s definitely something we should explore.

Not anymore.  The market reset ridiculously last offseason with the signings of Honey Badger, Landon Collins, and Earl Thomas.  They broke the bank on the position if I remember correctly, which is why Malcolm Jenkins had his panties in a wad.

All that being said.............I'd take him in a heartbeat, and I'd trade valuable resources for him.

I doubt that makes much of a dent in his salary. 😅

I really hope Alshon comes back and is able to contribute...

1. he makes this offense better - We all hope this happens, but he's probably not even gonna be able to play.

2. I can throw it in everyone’s face for hating on him - Rumors of him mouthing off aside, he was slower than Lane Johnson running routes last year.  Kudos to you if it does happen, but that doesn't make it an intelligent prediction.

He probably took the Rams off the table since they don't have a 1st round draft pick until 2037.

He would be a souped up Jenkins in our defense, and that obviously would be very valuable, but is that worth $17M a year and trading a 1/1 or 1/2?

It's common for anyone who plays for Adam Gase.

That’s true.

Ok, so it actually plausible to get Adams and be able to extend him.

Now, I'm not going to get into what all it would take to get him or the costs in that. (A lot a lot) This is simply cap talk.

It would get dicey next year with our already known cap issues and he would be due almost $10m next year on top of that so a projected $60 mil over without rollover.

Now, he IS only due almost $900k base this year.

Question: he has bonuses due so would we be on the hook for those in trade or not?

Signing bonus is $3.5 roster bonus is almost $3mil so he be around $7 this year if on the hook.

I could see us take up the roster bonus but pretty sure we aren't for signing bonus, so we would still be able to rollover quite a bit of the space over next year to kind of offset his $10 mil add on.

Now, 2021 is when Alshon can be jettisoned with no implications so could see the money going to Adams at that time if extension to kind of balance things out.

The S market could reset higher or it could regress to the mean after these last ridiculous contracts.

It's a crap shoot at predicting the per year 2 years from now.

So it is a bit more possible than I thought , plu Howie.

Really depends on how things shake out next year, but you'd rather have him the mix to make those decisions than not.

Eddie Jackson recently signed a four-year, $58M deal with $33M guaranteed (although it’s basically a three-year, $33M deal), which makes him the highest paid safety in terms of average salary at $14.6M.

Kevin Byard signed a 5-year, $70M deal, which is basically a 3-year, $31.3M deal.

If he wants to sign for a bit above that, great, but he supposedly wants to be the highest paid Jet, and Mosley makes $17M per. That’s a pretty easy pass due to contract and trade compensation.

"Souped up" or a possible future All Pro?  At 24 this is the kind of talent DC's want more than anything (but normally never see because the position isn't drafted high very often).  We've seen good players move on to better structured teams in the past and just blow up.  Fitzpatrick was a little bit of an example just last season.  Imagine him (Minkah and Adams) in their 2nd and 3rd years in the system.

If he becomes the best, or 2nd best, or even 3rd best player on the team then it's worth it.

Might be all it took to get to this point.  And he's been stewing on it for months.

Damn, Landon Collins didn’t really get that much funny money. He’s locked into three years, $45M, and that’s with a $9.6M dead cap if cut. If he’s kept for year 4, he earns $56M. Yiiiiiikes.

I think a souped up Jenkins is an All-Pro.

I'm still on the rather trade and give big money to Yannick train than Adams

Smart!

Stupid...

I laughed.

FWIW, wearing a mask prevents an individual from spreading the disease.  When about 1% of the population wears the mask correctly, it generally increases the individual's chance of contracting the virus.

Take that for what it's worth if people should be forced to wear them.

Thought you were going to post about the Gov. of Nebraska threatening to withhold funding from local governments if they make masks mandatory.

That is ridiculously stupid.

For the record, I grew up in Nebraska. Ricketts sucks.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean they’re wearing them incorrectly?

On the knees.

People touch their face more often when wearing a mask.

If you walk through a store, adjust the mask 2x, take it off when you get in the car before washing your hands...your personal risk is much higher than had you not worn one.

You're suppose to only touch the ear straps. 🤷🏻‍♂️
