I don't disagree.  Like I said, it's not about this group or that group... it's about the individual who is making a bad choice.  Each person has to make the right choice.  As has been discussed by most states with a mask requirement order, they aren't really able to enforce it.  One state plans to enforce repercussions on the businesses for their employees not wearing them, but I don't see how any local government could really enforce it on the individual.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Sure, that's the business enforcing it.  Not the gov't.

Exactly.  That was made with a Sharpie.

They don't have those in the White House?

Not really relevant to my point, but ok.

Going to the grocery store there is a sign saying a mask is mandatory to enter the store yet there were people in there without them.  Might be hard to enforce in larger places but smaller stores they can see and inform a customer a mask is needed if they arent wearing one.

Love the brotherhood and comradery but so glad other Eagles weren't there. Definitely don't want any Eagles in jail or in trouble with the law

If you're talking about the fairness doctrine in broadcasting the market serves that function. The left started Air America as a counter to conservative talk radio and it failed miserably. Why would you want the government to mandate what a media outlet has to broadcast?

No one is preventing liberal talk from starting again but it should have to compete in the market based on its own merit.

The right to broadcast alternative facts, something that is non-existent but created out of convenience, for business opportunity and now permitted due to this. I could live with less opinionated news and just the facts ... all the facts

Needed Jalen Mills there.  He's experienced with this sort of thing.

I'd love for the news to be nothing but facts.

I think we both know it's never gonna happen

It's not so easy.  Which is a fact?

There is systemic racism in the United States

There is not systemic racism in the United Sates

News is more than simply reciting data and events, it is also about trying to read between lines, peeling layers to uncover truth, trying to understand the how and why.

The real issue to me is what is news vs what isn't.   I'd say local news broadcasts are about close reporting facts that we get.  So much of what we call news is truly opinion, but we watch and listen to it much more and we all call it news.

I remember as a kid, and yes there was TV when I was a kid when the evening news went from reporting to opinion it was clearly stated as such and I remember a banner across the screen saying as much.

I haven't seen that in years. as too often "news" outlets try to muddy the water between fact and opinion

Thanx for the link

I have FOX and CNN bookmarked and I usually read what each has to say on a subject and figure the truth is somewhere in between. I equate the NYT to the Epoch Times who are on the same level, just on different ends of the political spectrum Otherwise this article has a pretty good mix of left and right leaning sites.

Cyprien and a 7 for Duke Riley, Marquise Goodwin and Prince Tega-Wanogho.

That’s a helluva trade. I still have no idea what Atlanta was thinking.

Every time we start ragging on Howie he seems to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

One error in Kaye’s story. Atlanta isn’t hoping for Cyprien to recover from his injury. He was signed as a street FA late by Howie to a one year deal. Atlanta did not negotiate a new contract so Cyprien is a FA again. Atlanta got one game from Cyprien but the most they would have got would have been twelve whereas if Riley makes the team, the most the Eagles get from him is 29, assuming a full 2020 schedule plus playoffs if any in 2020.

He also turned a 1st and 2 2nds and a 3rd into Barnett, Jones, JJAW, and Rasul Douglas.

Sorry, I had to.

I think Douglas' contributions to the team have been worth a late third round pick. He held down the fort during the first half of the '17 season when Darby was injured. There's a heckuva lot of value in that. He hasn't been a complete cluster-f the rest of his career either. No, he's not a star but I don't consider him a disappointment either.

More accurately, Joe Douglas did.

I put more of that on joe Douglas than I do Howie. Douglas wasn’t really concerned about athletes, and the Eagles just had the most athletic draft class in the NFL.

Even if those were howie picks, those guys contributed to a super bowl in 2017, so I wouldn’t have preferred it go any other way.

He’s compelled to, yes.

Despite the narrative some folks want to push, the Eagles don’t draft poorly as an organization.  Every team has misses in the first 2 rounds, and most teams have hits late in drafts like the Eagles have with Kelce, Kurt Coleman, Beau Allen, and even Mills (although everyone knows I’m not high on him, he’s played 4 years as a 7th round pick)

People need to remember when you win a minimum of 9 games most seasons you’re just not going to have a choice of blue chip prospects.  Everyone one here brags about how DAL drafts, but their 2019 draft class has been abysmal so far — barely any contributions at all.

Douglas had a strong voice and set the board, but Howie ultimately made the picks. Howie doesn’t deserve a pass and fans shouldn’t sidestep him to point the finger at Douglas.
