Serious question — how would you quantify the ‘lunatic fringe’ in the US?

5%, 15-20% .... higher?

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Higher than I would like.

The Inside the Birds podcast with Greg Cosell’s breakdown of the Eagles was pretty darn good too. His analysis of Wentz was spot on.

And a tip of the cap to him because he too acknowledges that Reagor was the better fit for both our offense and for Wentz’s skill set.

Cosell is a quality listen.

I sincerely doubt that.

My favorite is when he calls out "Betas" and brags about his world series rings. Dude had .192 AVG and a .608 OPS in 2012. Really an important cog for that team there Aubrey.

I am too lazy to research this but I wonder how many times Jones was on the bench as a healthy scratch in favor of Darby, Mills or Maddox? He was clearly the best option as the article makes clear, but for some reason Schwartz hates this kid.

I think Maddox will be given every opportunity to win the starting job, and unless Jones just plays out of his mind, he's going to be on the bench yet again.

Is there a more vague term than "general welfare”? Probably not

enforce contracts. Protect against threats foreign and domestic.

Whats trumps approval rating at.

I think that would be a good reflection of national lunacy. 35 38%  ???

Schwartz hates him because since hes been here theyve asked jones to get stronger and instead he said nah im gonna work om my endurance and stamina, then he got hurt again, and they said we need you to get bigger stronger and said nah im skinny so schwartz said ok sit your skinny a** on the bench.

Jones needs to get stronger if he wants to play.

Here is something for the complainers.

I expect him to show up to training camp this year with the ability to squat more than 135 lbs.

I didn't realize he had zero snaps in the playoff game against Seattle.  That makes no sense to me at all.  He showed some really positive signs the last 4 games of the season, made some big plays, and according to this article he was the best Eagles corner against the deep ball by a wide margin.  Not like it matters.  The defense played well in that game, but Schwartz's decisions with our corners continues to confuse me.

big changes tend to be disruptive in bad ways for those in power.

The transition from the upheaval of the norm can be a little hectic until a new norm is reached.

Those in power enjoy the current norm it suits them well. The beginning of this country was rough for many, those in power didnt like the dissent and the " big changes" caused harm on both sides.

If one was scared of big change back then one would still be saluting the queen mary.

This country is in need of big changes, incremental changes have been lost in the fray and led us to where we are today, fighting amongst ourselves instead of demanding whole sale changes to a system that benefits the few and divides the voices and needs of the many.

I would really, really disagree with this.

Big changes tend to be made by the people in power for their own benefit.

Revolutionary type of big changes tend to end in hardship for the masses as established systems are upended and the revolutionaries fail to understand the reality of why the system existed in the first place and are incompetent in replacing it.

Revolution is romanticized, but historically, they’re blood baths that end in disaster. The reference point of European Enlightenment is an outlier that is clouding your judgement. This country is incredible. Imperfect for sure, but still incredible. Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it.

Are we? What, for example, is the purpose of government?

That would depend on the government, wouldn’t it? It could range wildly from enforcing religious doctrine to enforcing property rights (or non-rights) to enforcing borders and virtually anything in between

Ultimately, government is simply an institution of force. How that force is applied is the tricky part. Most want to wield it as a weapon to impose their will on others.

Since there’s nothing else to talk about...Any Apple fans? How about what Apple has planned?

Apple using their own chips is going to be a massive change.

Jones needs to do some heel raises and squats. Those legs are twigs.

The most relevant (and illustrative) comment I saw:

Was sitting in my car at CVS today after getting my Epstein Barr medication.  Saw a guy pull up, get out with no mask, walk just inside the storefront and then immediately turn around and walk back to his car to put his mask on.  As he passes he looks at me sees my mask still on and nods at me with the thumbs up.

I said a few weeks ago here I believed not wearing a mask was definitely political.  I was honestly talking about the people the above tweet describes.  But I do acknowledge at the 4+ month point in this pandemic there is also room for simple forgetfulness and/or laziness.

I’ve gotten out of my car on more than one occasion, having forgotten to put my mask on before walking back to get it. It happens. Unfortunately with the amount of people I see not wearing masks, it’s not simple absentmindedness.

I did it on the first day masking was required. Luckily it was 4:45am at sheetz and no one was there. I didnt  bother running back out to get it.

I also nearly let people through our screening area in to the hospital without masks because its still just normal to see people's faces without masks. More than one occasion. Luckily there was always a co-worker or two there and one of us would catch it.

Yeah... it happens.

Theres been a lot of people who would walk in with it still down on their chin not covering anything. Id always give a polite reminder after we finished with our questions as they began to walk away "dont forget to pull up your mask!"  Usually they seemed like they were just trying to see if they could get away with it because they didnt want to. Sometimes thered be a huff and puff and eyeroll, but were willing to if told.

6LBs. Average NFL tackles per LB last season(solo and asst) 19. SMH.

What an idiot

Djokovic has been heavily criticized over the past several days for organizing a charity tennis tournament, the Adria Tour, in Croatia while the coronavirus is still surging around the world. The Adria Tour operated with no masks and no social distancing requirements, and nearly 4,000 fans attended the Serbian leg of the tournament. Players were seen embracing after matches and going out for nights on the town, which were organized by Djokovic.

Now he and his wife have covid.

On a more concerning note for actual popular sports here in the US 2 Suns players tested positive and Phoenix is a team that will be participating in the continued NBA season if we get there.

Rule of law to protect property rights. Courts etc

military/law enforcement to protect borders etc

its really not complicated until we try to make it more than it is and engineer outcomes

The collectivists whining about virtue signaling is peak stupid

People are violating no law not wearing a mask. There is no obligation to do so really.
