Yep. We’re the most informed we’ve ever been with the internet, but everyone gets access to it.

Still have to know and want to weed out the nonsense. Some people aren’t smart enough to determine this and some are in denial

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Tragically, genocide was much more widespread at that time than most would believe.  Stalin was as bad as Hitler objectively IMO.  Mussolini was from the same pool, Chiang Kai-Shek was responsible for millions of deaths in China, Emperor Hirohito in Japan was awful (but protected as royalty).  As awful as Hitler was, the world was rich with some awful players at that time.  WWII in actuality was a few fragmented conflicts playing out at once.

Hitler in Germany was a product of the destitution the country was left in at the conclusion of WW1 — the allied powers bankrupted the nation probably more than was practical, and chaos was bound to flourish.

JMO

Yup.

Stalin killed more jews than hitler but isnt as vilified as hitler because russia was an ally during WWII.

And of course our own genocide of the native americans isnt spoken of as such by mainstream America as its justified by "Manifest Destiny"😒

Now he and his wife have covid.

On a more concerning note for actual popular sports here in the US 2 Suns players tested positive and Phoenix is a team that will be participating in the continued NBA season if we get there.

NBA playoffs are going to be a joke even if they happen. There won’t be a serious US sports season played until 2021 at the earliest. Each sport will eventually shut down for this year.

Ok, I’m with you. May the best person win even though with the 2nd Amendment they may be shot, isn’t that what it’s there for anyways ?

Boomers, many spoiled by the Greatest Generation don’t like to be asked what they can do for their country, they’ve reluctantly done enough in their book. We can go around and round but most of the problem comes down to if everybody is ok with their piece of the pie and you will find the further to the top they are more satisfied. Every man for himself is convenient. Trickle down and overspending on military, I think we can all acknowledge are failures ... except for you of course

Yeah...that 41% in the link you sent that I've never heard of...even if it is true is so much different than the 45% from Rasmussen.

Nonsense.  Most of governmental functions are focused on serving the people. Roads, water, sewage, safe medicines, safe foods, helping farmers, fire protection, parks and other recreation, flood control etc.

Total naivete.

Whats so incredible about this country right now???

Like i said if those who were dissatisfied with the status quo in jolly ol England said England is incredible then my dollar bill would most likely have a queen on it instead of an old dude wearing a wig.

When Incremental changes come from those in power its so the peasants dont notice, bread crumbs and football dont quell the masses after wholesale negative changes from those in power. Instead wholesale changes by the top lead to revolutions which is why its rarely seen by the ruling class except in the case of a conquered nation where those wholesale changes are forced upon the conquered by the conquerors. Wholesale positive changes in a society are more  commonly as a result of those many that have been disenfranchised by the few ,by enacting wholesale changes much like the revolutionary war.

Even in germany hitler didnt just wake up one day and have a whole nation willing to participate in genocide, it was a calculated systematic process with incremental negative  changes here and there until the average german either contributed or turned a blind eye to genocide.

This country is incredible at 2 things. War, we drop lots of bombs and we all pay for organized murder whether we want to or not, secondly we are incredible at imprisoning our own citizens, number one in the world by a wide margin.

This country is incredible for white males everyone else is second class. This coming from a white male who wants wholesale changes.

You’ve never heard of 538 but you cling to Rasmussen?  Huh...

Very prevalent where I live, Spokane WA. It’s like Trump popped the cork on the northern Idaho racists.

Like the 17 year cicada.  They were just waiting for the right conditions.   Idaho,, Oregon, Southeast/Eastern WA, all hotbed and Trump gave them courage, endorsement,  and a voice.

Any info on when hockey will return?!

Haven't we learned by now that polls are meant to shape public opinion, not reflect it. Has 2016 taught us nothing?

I'm 65 and have lived all over the country. I've never been asked to participate in a poll. Neither has anyone in my family.

I spent 21 years in the Air Force. You have no idea of the waste in the DOD. The $600 toilet seats are the tip of the iceberg.

People are violating no law not wearing a mask. There is no obligation to do so really.

Well that's not true.  If a mayor or governor mandates masks because there is a declared State of Emergency, then violation of a declaration is in many states a misdemeanor crime.  So there does not need to be a formal mask wearing statute for it to be a law.  There just needs to be a formal declaration by a governmental entity with the authority to propagate the rule.  So in my city, it would be a class 2 misdemeanor to not wear a mask in public.

I can tell you that politicians and political parties want accurate polling data.  They use it to allocate resources.  It's not meant as anything other than a way to find out what people think of the candidates and what issues are important.

enforce contracts. Protect against threats foreign and domestic.

What about protection of your property? Does Government have a role in protecting your life, liberty and property?
