So if the Eagles were to tarp off the first eight rows of the stadium, what happens to the season ticket holders who paid thousands of dollars for the seat licenses for those seats? Do they get to sit somewhere else, or will they be told "tough luck, see you next year"?

That thought had crossed my mind too

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Another thing  wonder about is if teams only allow say 50% of their normal fans into the stadium what good does it do?  You're not gonna get social distancing.

Also people go to games for the atmosphere. Lets face it you get a better view of the game on TV. If you only allow half the fans in and then require masks the atmosphere goes right in the toilet.

Well I would say that we all have some kind of addictions. From the stories that I've heard in the past around here it would be booze and he's not a good drunk

I’ve heard rumors of pills...

It's up to each team.  Up to the Owners.  That's why it's outlandish the way they are doing it.

Close friend of mine who I recently saw just tested positive. I got my test done yesterday so I'll find the result out in 2-5 days. I don't have any symptoms as of yet.

This is my last post here. Seeing political ads, in this case for Brian Fitzpatrick, but it could be anyone, I will not post or visit here again. Live long and prosper, Y’all.

It's a bug. VA has said he doesn't want ads shown for members.

We've all been there. I was all aboard the Gus Bus

Some of us were on the Gus bus simply cause we knew Kelly was a fraud and not so much that Bradley was great. But he was the other choice between the two. Kind of like presidential election last time... lol

I've been seeing a bunch of crazy trade scenarios for Adams

I don't watch the Jets. Is he really that good?

I actually think ngakoue is more realistic then Adams. I think it’s a position they value more and Graham is getting older and Barnett hasn’t lived up to the expectations we had with him being drafted at 14.

i don’t believe either is very realistic  Just saying i see them trading for ngakoue rather than Adams if they make a move.

Hope you are alright and it comes back negative. I’d recommend getting tested for Covid 19 and getting tested for other coronaviruses like 229E to see if that’s also coming back the same as Covid results

i think adams is a better fit , if he could help give the pass rush 2 more seconds the front would be all over the QB and that would really help barnett and  the younger DE's

There was a lot of enthusiasm about Kelly too. Briefly

To be fair, there was a lot to be enthusiastic about with Kelly (at least at the time of the hiring) plus we were coming off a decade and a half of one head coach, so it was the biggest eagles news in a generation.

Yup.

Stalin killed more jews than hitler but isnt as vilified as hitler because russia was an ally during WWII.

And of course our own genocide of the native americans isnt spoken of as such by mainstream America as its justified by "Manifest Destiny"😒

Say what? Stalin killed a lot of people, but other than the "Doctors plot," never engaged in wholesale killing of jews specifically, although he was certainly antisemitic (as were and still are most Russians). The Great purge killed a lot of Jews out of the half million, but more because they were disproportionately involved in Party politics or members of the intelligentsia. The Great Famine killed mostly Ukrainian peasants, few who were Jewish.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalin_and_antisemitism

If we had wanted to commit genocide against Native Americans, there would be no Native Americans left.

The primary cause of death was disease imported by Europeans, but since they had no concept of germ theory, they couldn't have weaponized it. The reports of using smallpox blankets, etc. have been refuted. The real problem was lack of immunity by Native Americans, similar to what happened in Europe during both the Justinian Plague and Black Death, the latter killing 40-50% of Europeans from a disease imported from China.

White Americans certainly oppressed and killed Native Americans, so did the Spanish, and before them the Aztecs and Mayans. The Comanche and Sioux crushed neighboring tribes, practically exterminating some. White Europeans were not better or worse than the rest of humanity, they just had better technology. American Indians did not live in a peaceful paradise before the arrival of Europeans, they did a fine job murdering each other with stone age technology.

It is racist to hold White Europeans to higher standards than the rest of the world, since that presumes White Europeans are morally superior.

War, genocide, and slavery are among the few universal social constructs.

Keep yourself protected out there.  You guys are getting hammered of late.

I do have one rule in life when it concerns political discussions, never waste your time discussing politics (or history) with someone who gets their news from cable TV instead of a range of written sources. Other than breaking news, they have zero value, Fox news probably negative value outside of Chris Wallace.

There is bias, but in written media (except for ideological think tanks) less than people think, excluding editorial pages, which are opinion.

I've read the WSJ and NYT for decades, and the reporting isn't that different, what differs is mostly the headlines (editorial decisions) and placement of stories.

Now the WSJ reporting has gone downhill since Murdoch took over, far less, and most of the in-depth stories are gone. But the WSJ caters to people making big money decisions who want real news, they can read the editorial page to stroke their money grubbing egos, but want to make decisions on facts, not propaganda. The same dynamic holds for the NYT and Washington Post, who depend on maintaining their reputation for quality reporting to sustain the economic value of the paper.

Good sources for Americans who want a wider world view would be that radical magazine The Economist, and also that lefty publication, Financial Times.

Both the Atlantic and New Yorker, while biased liberal in their short pieces, have high journalist standards for their serious reporting. The New Yorker has some of the best in-depth pieces around.

I would say it depends but left and right? 20% easy

Lunatic fringe, maybe 1% on both sides.

Ignorant fringe, that is, people who believe crazy things, like anti-vaxxers, evolution deniers, climate change deniers, mild conspiracy theorists (i.e. not pedophiles in pizza joints, etc. but more a lack of statistical judgment), maybe 20-30% on the right and 10-20% on the Left. Trump has a 35% hard core, the "Progressives" maybe 15% (40% of Democrats who are 40% of the country).

Another issue, is the term Conservative no longer applies to most of the remaining Republican party, Reactionary is a better term, that is, yearning for an imaginary past ("Christian America," white picket fences, good manufacturing jobs, law and order, etc. ignoring the extent of unreported rape, incest and child molestation, brutality, racism, et al that existed in the past), in the same way "Progressives" today have little in common with the Progressive movement, rather, they tend to be utopians, yearning for an imaginary future and disdaining compromise because armed with moral certainty they see no reason to moderate their demands.

There is a wing of the "progressives" that have adopted fascist tactics - cancel culture, CRT, etc.

The worst of it is in Phoenix/Maricopa county. I live in Pima county. It’s higher then it has been but nothing like Navajo and maricopa. It’s really bad in those places. I’ve been wearing masks and washing my hands all the time to avoid getting it.
