Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Did TO respect Andy Reid? I mean he's won 130+ games and a Super Bowl. He consistently has his team prepared and they win.

I would not bet on having football this year.

Idk i struggle with him cause i think his super bowl victory really came on the back of what the Steelers had built with cowher. Still did it so I give him credit for winning it cause it’s not easy even given the pieces. He also got back to a second and lost to the packers. So he deserves that credit. But those were also very early in his career

the further and further removed From that era, his teams took more and more steps back or failed to live up to expectations or beat New England when they had golden opportunities too. he’s had some super talented teams that just never lived up to expectations since their last super bowl appearance. I’d argue some years they had the best collection of talent or top 3. I could see him being ahead of mcvey and shanahan but really i think Doug would get more out of some of those teams then he did since his last super bowl loss.

Minor League Baseball will announce it is canceling its season today at 5 p.m.

I hate to say it  , but forget any professional sports this season .

I mean what's the argument that Payton should be higher.  Payton has had just as much talent and done the same thing.  Also, it's not like Belichick didn't beat almost all of the other coaches on the list in playoff games.

saints have consistently been a better team challenging for best in NFC. Steelers just consistently hope to make the playoffs these days. Tomlin has done less with more than a lot of coaches. Hes not very good, and his players have recognized.

Not only does he come up with a crap list, he then goes with this tweet

Some kid that is six years in the sports writing business all in CA decides to troll Eagles fans with pathetic lists.  No surprise he is picking two CA based coaches and comes from Seattle so he adds Carroll too.  His credibility is pretty slim.

I feel like Payton has also got shafted more than the Steelers in terms of no PI (not that it’s a be all end all excuse). He also took over an organization that was known aints. I feel it’s easier taking over a super bowl title type team then taking over a team that historically was not very good. Heck brees was good when he went to New Orleans but he also had a major shoulder issue which was why he didn’t go to the dolphins. I think building the saints into what they are is more impressive imo

I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t know any of the background on the booing "Santa Claus”, either.

IMO booing those little kids who couldn’t find Easter eggs was much more egregious 😀

The Steelers have challenged for the AFC when Ben has been healthy.  The Saints can say the same about Brees.

Boo Hoo.

The 'Aints thing ended when they brought in Jim Mora.  They've been an up and down franchise since then... and even during Payton's tenure.  2012-2016 wasn't exactly anything to write home about.

Zucchini update:

20200630_170005.thumb.jpg.2849aa9ece83ffdf3a0e37169395f413.jpg

Two on the left are bigger than I normally prefer, and should have picked them yesterday, but the others weren't ready yet.  The middle fat one turned out to have been rotten inside, insect or bird damage.   I'll be saving those two big ones for tomorrow night's dinner.  They will be sliced lengthwise with the mandolin and grilled - olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.  Delicious, even that size.   The smaller ones have been cut into medallions and my wife is baking with parmesan cheese, olive oil, and some Italian seasoning.  It turns out wonderfully. I could eat that style everyday, but I shouldn't.

Not bad.  My tomatoes are all producing and I have peppers on all but two of my plants. Nothing harvested yet, except herbs. I have five garlic cloves sprouted and growing in an unused corner of my garden. Never done garlic before.

How are your other plants doing?

RIP to a legend. This tweet is worth clicking on and reading his thread in full. What a wonderful story.

Pretty good.  Loved him on the Dick Van Dyke Show as Alan Brady.

Been harvesting lettuce for a while, pulled the last of them as they bolted.
Been eating beets (tops and bottoms) for a while... have a bunch more to harvest still.  So good.
Chard is popping now and I need to get going on that.  Same with the kale.
Cucumbers are exploding in growth and male flowers, no females yet, but its a matter of time.
Beans are starting to take off up their trellis.
Watermelon is starting to climb and has a flower or two here and there.
Replanted more carrots for later in the season.
Been harvesting Celery for a while, that's about done now.  Need to get another round of Celery planted for the fall (crazy to think about).
Tomatoes are producing like gang-busters, and I even have an 'Early Girl' that's started to ripen.
Tomatilloes are exploding all over the place - tons of flowers, tons of 'pods'... but I don't know how many are fertilized... - first time growing, so that's all new.
Peppers are doing well.  Got some bells (4 plants) and they are doing nicely flower and fruit wise.  Put in 3 more corno di toro peppers, so we'll see what they do eventually.
Herbs are doing fine.  Basil has exploded recently, so we'll have plenty of that, unless my son finds out.  He'll just walk out to the garden and eat the basil straight from the garden.
Have some bunching onions and leeks - we'll see what they do.  There's a lot of growing season left to go.

I mean the saints historically even after mora weren’t great. It’s way easier to win a title with good ownership and being given a championship roster like tomlin was given. Can say boo hoo doesnt effect me. I still believe much easier to win with the Steelers organization then a historical bad organization outside of a couple of seasons before Payton arrived. Even with those down years they weren’t exactly god awful which was an improvement for like 85-90 percent of their history.

Eagles fans are passionate but it seems there are assaults leaving people in critical condition at CA professional stadiums almost every year.

I'm the biggest Dick Van Dyke Show fan in history. (Not joking.) Carl Reiner was my television idol. It's a sad day indeed, although certainly one that I've been expecting for awhile. 98 is a pretty good run.

Was at the rams game the year wentz got hurt. There was a 70-80 year old eagles couple. Walking up the stairs and some drunk dumb rams fan pushed the elderly man and he nearly fell down the stairs if it weren’t for like 2 other eagles fans Catching him. Had to call security and instead of removing him they gave a warning. Same thing for nlcs in 2009 thug dodger fan throwing stuff at us and then threatening to kick our arse when we leave. Like we get a bad rep but LA fans are just as bad.

Meh.  Can't stand the Saints, or more specifically Peyton, so I'm not going to worry about him not being respected.   Mora turned that franchise into a legitimate NFL franchise.  Building with the Saints is no more impressive than building the Colts in Indy, Titans in Tennessee, etc.  They weren't a laughing stock before he got there.  Haslett had them in the playoffs in his first year, too.  But, his tenure took a turn quickly.  Then Peyton came to town.

Don’t get me wrong i was happy as hell when they didn’t call that Pi cause i can’t stand them either.

I get what you Are saying but i still think tomlin inherited a much better situation to win and be successful then Payton. It’s why I’d have him higher.

Don't get me wrong... I'm just using this as an excuse to trash Peyton.

Damn straight.  Some really long runs from a few of my fav celebrities.  Betty White is 98, Bob Barker is 96, Jimmy Carter is 95 and still building houses(?) .... Norman Lloyd is 105; he looked ancient when he was in St. Elsewhere in the 80s
