The only thing I don't like about my Stinger is there is no automatic trunk open, but that's because i'm lazy. I don't remember but the 2019 might have it, not sure.

yeah some do. Im not sure the year, or maybe just trim level. Maybe just GT2 has them.

Id be happy even with the 4 cylinder GT Line. Thatd still be a performance upgrade over my optima and still has most of the nice bells and whistles.

The thing I hate about my optima is the sound system. It was weak to begin with and now most of my speakers are blown out and Im not even a super loud listener.

To have that 15 speaker system on the stingers will be heaven.

I really love where on some videos where they add an aftermarket air intake and it makes the turbo sound come alive. I love that sound of the blow off valve. Ill do that all day when I finally drive one.

cool to hear 2 in here have stingers. Ive been reading that Kia might kill it off. Theres been talk of a re-fresh, and at the same time they say maybe the 2021 with a minor facelift may be the final year.

I know the one dealer where Ive been watching this car has had it for about 3 months now. There doesnt seem to be high demand.

It does kind of make sense to kill it with the K5 GT coming. Or at least the lower trims. Though I think they should still keep the Stinger GT2 as the ultimate flagship car. Thats still gonna be better than the K5 GT.

man shes a beauty! I didnt notice the pic in the post before maybe it was slow to load.

I love it anything but black so it doesnt hide the dark chrome trim and mirrors. Love that contrast on the white and the way those red brembos pop.

I also LOVE those rims. Anyone that buys aftermarket rims for that car is a stupid. You dont get better than those stock wheels.

ah... I used it for a hidden picture that someone brought to work for us to do back in the day when the hospital was super slow. Dont know how this lady found a hidden picture in Azerbaijani. It worked but those were just single words saying what the items were that we were supposed to find.

I used it to navigate my way around the Frankfort Airport when they didn't have German and English together (most signs actually had both).

I'm good with or without pickles.  My wife would say that pickles are a necessity on EVERY sandwich.  Sometimes, I think my wife eats the sandwich just as an excuse to have more pickles.

I was in the spanish honors society for the 2 years I took it, and then I was in the German honors socitey for the next 2 years in high school.

You think I can read anything in those languages these days? Not much.

I even took Spanish as a senior in college as a blow off elective. Just super easy back then. But cant remember much anymore.

Pickles are fine on a chick-fil-a sandwich. But everyone else who has tried to copy that sandwich should just stop. Do something else.

First of all, theyre tiny pickles on a chick fil a sandwich. Theres only 2. Theyre thin slices and you barely notice them. You dont need them. But theyre there and thats ok.

Other places are putting more on and its really just not that good then. They should be not there, or just barely noticeable just like a little hint of pickle. Anyone making it a distinct part of the sandwich is doing it wrong.

Whole bunch of random notes about my car today. Feel free to discuss any of them.

- Hit 100k miles on the 2013 Kia Optima yesterday. Kia gets a bad wrap. This is a good car.

- On that note, might finally be time for the first repair. Have not had to do anything other than brakes and oil changes so far. But now I have a squeaky wheel, especially when I turn to the right.

-Major PSA. Do not ever buy Nokian tires. These were recommended by a friend. All season tire. Made in Scandanavia where they know how to make a tire for snow. I got these in winter. My car is front wheel drive. I thought I was getting a hell of a tire for winter without getting an actual snow tire. They had an 80,000 mile warranty. My tires today measured 1/32. I only got 35,000 miles on them. Who knows how many less miles they were when they were at 2/32 which would actually fail inspection. But, theyre already at a 1. Horrible. Im sure I could try to get them replaced under the warranty, but I dont even want another set of those pieces of crap.

-Ceramic "wax" is great. Relatively new type of product on the market. My first time using it. I first used turtle wax hybrid ceramic car wash. It was really as simple as washing your car and you get a great protective ceramic coating with great water beading. Then I decided to clay bar my car today. I was a little disappointed that the clay bar seemed to take off most of the coating.

Water wasnt beading nearly as much. I then tried Meguiars hybrid ceramic spray. I sprayed it on a wet car after washing, and wiped with a cloth to dry and spread the product at the same time. My car is hella shiny from a distance, but this left streaks. It almost looks like I did a poor job buffing off old fashioned wax. This is how you are supposed to do the first application with this spray product. Future applications you are supposed to spray on, and then actually use a strong jet setting on your hose to spray the product off your car which is actually supposed to spread it. Seems weird. Ill try it that way next time and see if it makes a difference with the streaks.

I also did my wife's car today. I washed hers with the turtle wax hybrid ceramic while I clay barred. It worked well. I then hit it with a second wash with a greater concentration of the ceramic soap. Her car is looking great.

After these few trials using these products in different ways, I prefer the turtle wax ceramic hybrid car wash soap. Its just so easy. Applies a great shine with great beading protection. And is as easy as just washing a car.

We bought a new KIA 5 or 6 years ago after having it towed back to the dealer and 2 other warranty trips the air conditioner froze up. Back to the dealer we went and were told "that's a KIA thing, we cant do anything about it.

We went to the local Ford dealer and traded it in on a new Explorer.  No regrets

Good to hear about the ceramic wax though. I am rebuilding a 97 F350 diesel and paid $6300 for  GREAT paint job. I'd like to keep it looking like new.

Full disclosure, my model year optima has had 3 engine recalls. I just got unlucky on the model year.

But I have literally needed no repairs. Till now at 100k. Cant really complain.

ahhh... one time I needed the AC re-charged.

Yes. This is the ceramic car wash I am talking about.

Thanks man. Haven’t done a thing to her yet, just mostly cause I don’t even feel the need to. Looks and performance are already great as is.

My next car WILL be a Kia Stinger. I just cant afford one yet.

Though have you seen the news on the K5? Theres gonna be a GT version with a twin turbo, and a GT Line version with AWD.

Ill either get one of them, or probably a used stinger in the next year or 2.

I freakin love the stinger. It has everything you can want. The performance. The drivability and comfort of a daily driver. The AWD for winter weather. The cargo capacity of the hatch back. Great reliability. And comes with the best warranty around.

Pathetically Ive been looking at a 2020 Stinger GT Line almost every day just wishing it would drop in to my price range (it never will). I cant wait for the day I can go buy.

oh. well that sucks.

Crappy. Had a setback. A little short of breath, but only a little. A further setback and it's oxygen tests and a chest x-ray but I'm not there yet and have no intention of getting there.  I read and i sleep and I watch something stupid and I sleep and I read. Thank goodness for Ron Chernow and William Lee Miller. My pile of books by the bed is dwindling. Recommendations are welcome. I like history, any history, a good spy novel, anything by James Crumley, Mick Herron, John D. MacDonald, Lee Child, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. Pretty broad range. Liked The Swerve a lot.

Ever read Gods, Graves and Scholars? Pretty old now as my dad passed to me when I was in my early teens. It is a History of Archeology. - early archeology. Have you ever read Undaunted Courage?  About Lewis and Clark,  Jedediah Smith and the Opening of the West.  Much like Undaunted Courage is more readable than the actual Journal of Lewis and Clark, Morgan is much more readable than Smith’s actual journals. Really enjoyed 1491 too.  About pre Columbus America.  A couple of decent books on the Voyages of Zheng He are 1421 and 1434 although there is a lot of speculation as the records on Zheng He were destroyed.

Sorry, I don’t do spy novels anymore. Nowadays when I read fiction I am doing it as mind candy and mostly read Sci Fi and Fantasy.

I've always been in to cars.  I love American muscle but I'm a German car fanatic despite the common electronic issues.  Have had numerous VW and Audi's.  I love to drive.

Over quarantine I've been watching so many car restoration shows either on the firestick or youtube.  There are these 2 kids in Tennessee with a channel called Goonzquad.  They fix totalled cars and it's fascinating.  It's got my juices flowing to do a build at some point.

Would love to find an old Bronco or F Series to cruise around in.  Not sure when I will ever pull the trigger but I would love to learn how to do it all A-Z.

thats gonna be fast.

Will always remember Paul Walker pulling up in that silver one with the steam blowing out of the blow off valves. That car is an icon of my kid years!

My F350 now has 330,000 miles. When I drove it off the dealers lot it had 14 miles. I figured it was time for some body and interior work.

In manual or no?

In several states where the NFL plays, those waivers aren’t worth the paper they are printed on. The worst thing teams can do is use a universal one that isn’t based on the host state’s law (statutory and case law ).

I used to have  CC and the Areton is pretty much a CC but much better.  I had an S4 and Touareg, decided to sell and get the best of both worlds with an SQ5.  Absolute beast.

I got the Chemical Guys car wash kit for Christmas and it's a great package of everything you need.
