this is going to be your yearly cheap deep threat option.

Which then frees them up to take a different kind of WR. Like.... Tee Higgins!

Frankly we’d still need a deep threat for the future. Goodwin is 29 and hasn’t played 16 games since 2017 . Desean is 33. Other than those guys you still don’t have a deep threat long term.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Dillard for #11 overall is fine with me. I like Dillard, but that allows us to take a WR at 11, and another developmental OT at 21. We could resign Peters and try again.

If it's 21 + Dillard for 11, then pass for me.

I think 2 first round picks to move from the mid twenties to number 11 isn't a terrible price.  I mean I think if they traded a 2021 1st and number 21 this year it would be a reasonable deal.  I do think it means that Dillard was a bad pick.  I am not sure that it engenders any confidence for me.  It also leaves them in a hole at LT. It could be filled by Peters next season.  It's a problem in 2021.

Want no part of Peters as the LT next year, nor do I want Marquise Goodwin to be the band-aid for deep speed.

This makes me want to steer clear of Goodwin because it could give them the mindset "Well we traded for Goodwin so we covered the need for a speed WR".

Draft your guys.  Build your team.  No more re-treads.

Peters played well last season.

Goodwin is going to probably be cut if they can't trade him. No thanks to anything other than low pick swap

It'd look bad if we moved on from Dillard-- but it doesn't matter how it looks.  Gotta protect your franchise QB and if you don't have confidence in the bookend, DO IT.

I got some good 2-4 round guys i like. I have loved Cleveland for months. I also like Charles from LSU. He had some marijuana issues. Also love peart from UConn at 103. Niang of TCU is under the radar like as well.

I’d really be happy with peart or Cleveland as long term development prospects.

While true, you can have both. You could draft Reagor lets say and still get Goodwin on the cheap. Doesn't put it all on Reagor in this scenario to produce.

True you can have both.   But I fear that if they trade for Goodwin that would be their answer and reason to NOT draft Reagor.  IMO trading for him would make them complacent and they wouldn't attack WR as a need anymore.  They would think they did their job and they can sit back and wait for the board to fall much like the Pumphrey draft.

No Goodwin please unless we're getting him for practically nothing

Same, but if he makes it to the bottom third of Round 2 and around 53 that's a pretty big slide IMO.

Yeah i get what you mean, It would be very very incompetent of them to use that acquisition to put off the need of still drafting a WR, as he's only ever had 1 good season and plenty of injuries. If this were to happen i think you really would have to question is Howie can manage a roster.

I wanted to react but I'M OUT OF LIKES.

Anything we can do about removing that feature? :D

Yea, this could be a timing thing by Howie.

Make teams think we won't go WR.  (Seems to have worked on some of you guys...)

Well yeah, that is. I say he last no longer than pick 40

To be on the safe side, post that on the old board. 😂

It's like he's talking about a dog .....

It always made sense with their total inactivity in free agency and trade for WR, Howie would have something cooked up other than hoping a guy they like falls to them. A trade in the works would make sense.

I changed my mind. I'm out on Goodwin after looking at his contract. He'd be close to $5M depending on when some of his bonuses hit.

Same with Barnett. Thanks to the Vikings dropping off after a hot start.
