Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Guys like Kaepernick and LeBron are social media activists. They'll put up some "inspiring" post on Instagram or Twitter, but in the end it's just to boost their Q scores or popularity. I give Kaep credit because he actually runs the Know Your Rights camp/foundation that does a lot of good and educates kids. LeBron funds his school as well, so they're doing their part in a way and I'm not saying that they don't do anything. But guys like Jenkins walk the walk and talk the talk. They're having important conversations with decision makers in power and trying to make things better. They're on the front lines walking with ordinary citizens showing solidarity. Jaylon Brown did this too. If you want to be about it, you have to put yourself out there. LeBron wouldn't be caught dead walking the streets of LA in public protesting. He'd rather hide out in his mansion and throw money at causes.

Yup that was more eloquently worded then mine. But i do think Lebron is out there for certain things. His school in Akron and he’s done some stuff in Ohio. I’ve yet to see kaepernick at a protest with the people since George Floyd was murdered. I might not agree with everything Malcolm has said but i respect the hell out of him for going out and talking to those In the public forum to try to make a difference for something he believes in and then actually being out there during this time.

You are new to the blog and want to ban some long time posters in here. Talk about censorship.  If you don’t like what is being talked about go explore some of the TATE posts.   Like it or not Kaep is going to be talked about.

Like it it not, the guy running this place asked us to try to keep political talk in the proper thread.

I really don't have an issue with it. We're currently in one of, if not, the weirdest times we've all experienced and there are no sports going on to keep us distracted. For the most part, it's been civil in here and I find it stimulating and engaging in reading what others have to say regardless of if they agree with my opinons or not.

On an Eagles football related note:

Geez. Look at those hips. Mirror work.  Jones is close to that too. Two CBs that can mirror and not tackle.  Mills has that, problem is, if he lets a fast WR go, Mills is toast. Maddox, is tighter in his flip but a maniac in tackling  then watch Douglas, not only slow but not smooth in his mirror.  Needs to keep the WR in front of him. Douglas is a slant CB, which you see a lot of in college.  BTW, the cowpads drafted two slant CBs this year.  Robinson has awful flip.  Just a press and slant CB.  Diggs is a little more fluid although not much. Weakness for both, fast WRs with moves like DJax, Reagor, Goodwin and Hightower.  Weakness against other WRs, bigger ones with leaping ability like Jeffrey and hopefully JJAW, the latter needing muscle.

Rasul has been working with the same trainer in the video above as Slay this offseason. Who knows if it well help or can change his ways, but hopefully he can see some improvement.

I appreciate the IT work from him but the money came from a number of us.  I made a sizable donation. The Kaep talk happens every time he opens his mouth.  I left that alone like you did because we have said what we will on that subject ages ago. It will die down.   Long time Bloggers aren’t going to whatever CVON is.

Like it or not, some of the other stuff is going to bleed in this year.  The rally in Tulsa, the Mt. Rushmore rally, the Republican conventions, church services and the protests are litmus tests on whether COVID-19 allows fans in the stands and frankly what works.  Right now, masks and a bit of distancing outdoors seems to work some better.  I’d feel better in a 50% capacity link with masks than in a stuffed Jerry World without.  Just having been in northeast Texas, I was appalled at the lack of mask use so I suspect Jerry World won’t be much better.

I like the effort Rasul puts in. Problem is an oil can doesn’t make smooth hip flips. Not sure that can be learned.  I tried as a kid but my hips just don’t swivel.

Yep, good points.  I mean obviously there's no need for the ongoing pages and pages like we've seen recently, and if it happens again.... well it happens and totally I agree it shouldn't happen here.  But man, there really is nothing else going on.

It's like you're back in high school and the teacher disappears for the whole class period, and nobody comes in and tells you what to do.

I agree with Bdawk, this is just a strange time.  Everything's in a kind of limbo.  We just need a sign (ing).

If we will be censored here by a guy running this place,  then this will be no better than reddit.

He only came and said what he said because some Karen's were complaining.  Those Karen's can F off.

This thread has 360,000 views since this site opened. No other thread in TATE is anywhere close.

The most popular thread in WU has only 14k views.

The activity on this entire site is driven by this thread.  Without us, I'm not sure google approves the site for ad sense. In a way, aside from many of our monetary contributions on go fund me, we are still supporting the board by being largely responsible for its traffic. Google would have looked at our site and seen very little activity and maybe not approve it.  Even if they did how much less money would we make on those ads without the crazy number of clicks this thread gets?

When we first began the site people couldn't log on from work because their fire walls were saying the site was too new. That changed for them in just a few days because we tore through over 100k page views in this thread alone that quickly.

Months later now this site continues to get new members signing up. When you search for eagles message board on google, we are the first result on the page. When this site was first created,  it wasn't searchable on Google at all. One of the things that determines thre order of those search results is page traffic. We will be the main reason people are eventually able to find us when they didn't get the word on the old boards.  And we will be the main reason new members find us.

Anyone who wants to censor this thread is doing a disservice to the entire EMB community. And censorship is the main reason no one wanted to go to reddit.

People just can't help themselves, it seems.

"Careful, that stove top is Hot!"

Touches to verify.....

I expect the secondary to be a new strength going forward, instead of a liability ( if we ever get to play some football, of course).

It was really remarkable what Gym Shorts and company were able to do with the various practice squad guys and popcorn vendors he had to put out there lately. I know its been touched on in here but needs restating, having some real talent on the back end will allow a lot of flexibility in how we defend the field. Being able to single up on the outside and possibly flip the corners to isolate or mirror the biggest threats will have a trickle down effect. Disguising schemes and coverages pre-snap will be a real thing and maybe limit some of the the quick-hitting first reads that QBs rely on so much if the deep threats are more reliably contained. Maybe even allow the Free Safety to actually react to the play instead of having to support a guy on the outside whose coverage may (usually) be suspect.

The Eagles identified the problems, addressed them to a large extent, and are ready to move forward with more confidence that the guys they put out there can execute without training wheels. I suspect the Sticks D was born of the notion that it was the only way to defend the 3rd and whatever with the personnel we had available. The fact that it was largely successful was just a pleasant byproduct of a desperate attempt to limit damage and compensate for a lack of individual ability to cover.

Hopefully, those days are behind us.

With respect,  your last sentence is the meat, the rest of this post is stale sides.

Billy Davis used the sticks D when he was here as well, iirc.  But, he couldn't coordinate his way out of a paper bag.

Schwartz has a happy history of seeing a weakness on his defense and finding a way to scheme around it.    In Tennessee, he designed the Wide 9 to stop the ZONE stretch that Indy killed them with. (Reminder, unlike the way that Washburn bastardized it, the Wide 9 was actually designed as a RUN defense).  I am excited to see the defense with a legit CB out there, we haven't had that in a long time.  I'm still concerned about the safeties for now, and the opposite side from Slay, but just having Slay opens up some other options that havent existed for Schwartz in his time here.

Coming from the guy who beats more ish into the ground than anyone.  Karen, that’s original.  Next you’ll be saying "let’s go” every chance you get.  Or calling people "boomers”.

Do you think your posts are any better the political posts just because you attack people rather than their politics? You're acting worse than anyone in here at this moment.  Lock up your keyboard for 2 days.

That's a prolific bush or quite a few... but he needs to pull them off the vine sooner.  They are all about twice or even triple the size they should be.    That one on the far left is baseball bat sized!

Yeah.  I’ve haven’t been in here for a month.  Hoping you people would stop.  And I’m not the only one.

And how do you even know who I am?  Because I don’t remember your name on the old board.  So who were you?

A reader not a poster, thought I'd change my tune with this one.  And for what it's worth, when VA made his plea, I fell in line.  I'm not turned off by the mix of conversation.  I don't need the separation of church and state, so to speak.  But I respond to VA's style of communication.  Hey, close the thread if you want, I think threatening it is childish.

Nothing earth shattering, but Kempski thinks Parks would be the backup FS.

What is with the signs parents are putting in their yard now about their kids graduating a grade.  Is that a thing up there?   I mean, I get celebrating a kid graduating HS or College. But damn.  I’m seeing them for 5th grade, pre school, kindergarten.  When did that become a thing?

I've been going to "graduations" for the past 20 years.  I don't get it, but i go and cheer them on.
