I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Gotta love someone who has spent their entire life in central Texas calling out anyone for where they live. Have fun rotting away in northern jersey. Much "cleaner" up there.  🤷‍♂️

Uh, Daingerfield ain't in Central Texas, which is some beautiful country.

It's in Northeast Texas, near Arkansas and Louisiana, basically the Deep South.

Not getting to play the Jets this year is disappointing.

I think if he still has anything left, he will be fine...bucs might have the best 2 WOs in the nfl, ditto TE group.

Tom will be a transition to new future QB, next  years qb draft is loaded, and it doesn't include two of the top QB prospects...actually my 2 fav ,Slovis and Howell,  both true sophomores

I enjoyed Counting Coup.  My dad shared it with me.  Have you read 1491?  I enjoyed that.  Charles Mann.  Probably my most recent read on this.

I have not read 1491 but I will make a point of it. Thanks.

I loved him as a 5th round prospect.. but as the hype grew and he moved up and up and up... I just lost all interest in him.

Yup i was ok with him in the 3rd or 4th round. Second round i was way nervous about taking him. However people moved him all the way up to like a late first and early second. Didn’t not want him at 21. Even 53 i wouldn’t have been thrilled. He seems like the guy who has a great pre-draft but then gets to the league and never lives up to those numbers.

Never saw what others seemed to see in him around here that would justify a 1st or 2nd round pick, tbh.  On film there's very little difference between what he looks like and what Watkins and/or Hightower look like....and Watkins' in-game speed actually looks faster.

It's an awesome city.  Beautiful skyline, great historic sections, great nightlife, among the best restaurants in the country, state-of-the-art sports complexes, top universities and has among the best hospitals in the world....45 minute drive to the beach and an hour drive to the mountains.  Most of all, it has a unique, unparalleled culture....once you get through the tough, outer layer, if you look hard enough, you will find some of the nicest, most loyal and truthful people in Philadelphia, imo.

1491 is well worth the read.

I read what he said and almost sounded like he got in a fight at a bar.

Basically.  He looked like a deep threat and added value with blocking, which also might translate to ST coverage.  But not in Round 2, and Round 1 was an insane suggestion.  A guy as fast as him should have generated more separation, especially against the Big 12 defenses.  He didn't, and he didn't seem to possess "natural" hands.   (Incidentally, the hands on Reagor are my biggest concern for him as well, everything else seems ideal, and were he 2 inches taller, he'd never have lasted to 15, let alone 21.  )

Because they don't understand why the trails are marked as they are.  And they figure, I've never fallen off a shear cliff before, why would now be different?

It's a shame.  Tragic for their families, horrific for those who have to go into those dangerous areas to retrieve their bodies, and just plain unnecessary waste of life.

Similar stories exist for those who wonder off the Appalacian trail.  They get lost and disoriented... and die a slow agonizing death.  Stick to the trails folks.   For a variety of reasons, protecting the nature itself being one of them, but for your own safety being the biggest one.  And NEVER hike alone.

Not sure the falls were long enough for that, unless you can have a 10-15 year free fall from one of their ledges.

Agreed.  The thing that separates Reagor from pretty much every other WR taken (other than maybe Lamb) is his strength.  That kid is exceptionally strong, especially for his size.  When you combine that with his quickness and speed, you have a pretty rare combination of skills.

Most super-fast WR’s aren’t super-strong and most super-strong WR’s aren’t very fast. (There are exceptions out there like DK Metcalf, T.O. etc but generally speaking, that is usually the case)

If I were his coach, that would be the very first thing I would focus on.  Use his strength/burst to get off the line, then use his speed for separation, then his strength/vertical leap ability making catches, then his quickness and speed after the catch.

Add a significant amount of route running training and a decent amount of time in the film room.  It’s a bit to work on as a rookie but if they go that route with the kid, I can see him becoming special.  From everything I’ve seen from him, he seems to have a good work ethic and for rookie WR’s who want to make an impact, it’s a basically a requirement.   I’m pretty high on the kid...let’s see what happens.

Eh I was trying to encompass Dangerfield and Waco (Baylor) but sure that works. Plenty of cool parts of Texas but that ain't it.

Blame selfie culture. No longer enough to post a picture of the Grand Canyon without ruining it with your ugly mug in it. People die all over the world trying to get the best selfie

Just out of curiosity how did someone who's never been to Philly become an Eagles fan?

Growing up in utah all we got on tv was niners and broncos and since my family hated football i was left to my own devices, one of the first football games i ever saw was a game where a receiver caught a td and did a celebratory back flip, i thought it was one of the coolest things i ever saw, it was Gizmo williams😄 after that i got a topps football card set i think 1989. I pulled out all the eagles cards and put them in a folder. Around the same time techmo super bowl came out and sports illustrated named randall cunningham the ultimate weapon. So i played as the ultimate weapon on tecmo super bowl against all my friends and around that time really started following the eagles and randall as much as a kid from utah could

If this was a football play, it'd be Torrey Smith's catch right before half of the Atlanta playoff game that should have been picked off.

Daingerfield is much closer to LA. My father in law lives in northeast Texas.  That is Jerrah’s team country.  He probably hates the Eagles.

But there are parts of east Texas that a pretty cool.  Great largemouth bass and catfish fishing.  Great place to hunt feral pigs.  Most trap them.  Neighbor of my father in law traps them and takes them to a place that fattens them up a bit and butchers them.  He is always barbecuing ribs and shoulders and an occasional ham long smoked. Pretty good eating. He also cures and smokes bellies. Some of the best bacon you will ever eat and leaner than domestic.  Lots of whitetail too.  Some great hiking and camping areas too. Summer is too hot for that in east Texas but considering they only get a month or so of real cold you can really enjoy the piney woods and thickets. That pine belt stretches all the way from the Carolinas.  Now those pines wither out before Dallas, which is, in my mind, the worst part of Texas.
