Great singer/songwriter.

I want no part in him.  Selfish player, over compensated, under producing, not to mention the cheat shots.

The more time goes on the less I care whether we get him or not

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I came across this group of sentences in a book 📖I’m currently reading and liked it so much I’ll quote it here, slightly bowdlerized. It applies to a brief conversation in here that touched on Moby Dick. Someone asked if reading it was worth it. The book I’m reading, H is for Hawk, is about falconry and speaks of a book by T. H. White called The Goshawk.

"When I read it again, years later, I understood why people considered it a masterpiece. For White made falconry a metaphysical battle. Like Moby-Dick or The Old Man and the SeaThe Goshawk was a literary encounter between animal and man that reached back to Puritan traditions of spiritual contest: salvation as a stake in a contest against God.”

I have no idea what that means, but it sounds 'purdy'.

Ribs update:

had to start the cooking process early due to T-storms rolling in, and didn't want to get caught in it.  (I really need to get myself a 'Smoking Porch' built on this house.)

Anyway, the ribs are 1 hour into their cook time...  Pit set at 250... but the lid thermometer is reading 275, just like I thought it would.   Probe thermometer is reading around 290.  Ribs just got flipped 180 degrees, and spritzed.   They should sit on the grill like that for about another hour before wrapping.

Should have a few decent Anaheim peppers by weeks end. Any recipe ideas?  Not enough for stuffed peppers.  Think of roasting them and mixing with some shredded pork I will be making.  Roast, skin, seed and cut into thin strips. Thoughts

First Jalapeños today going in a tequila lime marinade with cilantro from the herb garden. I know that JR says marinades don’t work on chicken, the alcohol and the citrus acid help infuse these.  I use the blender to pretty much purée the cilantro and jalapeño so that flavor infuses. Will be using chicken tenders which will go into a salad.

Switch out jalapenos for roasted anaheims and you get a milder salsa verde. Blacken and peel, chop and they go great in scrambled eggs or pasta primavera or roasted potatoes. Tonight I’m making sautéed boneless chicken breasts smeared with salsa verde and I wish I had some anaheims for that. Will have to make do with jalapenos.

In general, I would say that anything where you might think of adding rosemary, anaheims will work. There’s certain common woodiness in their aromas..

Hope that helps.

I watch his videos a lot.  He has some good ideas.

He recently put out an "American as Apple Pie" Ribs... sounds like a fun one to try.

What is with the idiots that can’t respect the trails and the barriers at the Grand Canyon.  Four deaths in four weeks.  Last seconds realizing what dumb asses they were.

Yeah i don’t get why people do it. I go to the Grand Canyon about once or twice a year living out here. Every time there’s at least 5-6 groups of people that Go take selfies or pictures as close to the ledge as possible. The picture isn’t worth your life.

I’m deathly afraid of getting too close to the barriers in general. It’s just as great of a view or picture staying within the barriers. If anything go on the tour that takes you down the canyon in a mule or to the rafting. You’d get better pictures and experience.

Anyone watch BBQ Pitmasters? Or any of those shows

I really thought he was going to wait until after Dak. I know it's going to be insane but I figured it'd be after Dak

Likely they think that this will be a 'cheap' contract for them by year 4 or 5.

There has to be an out for him in that. I can’t imagine him wanting to be locked into a contract for 10 years when the market goes up and up at QB.

Kudos to Seumalo. He has really turned himself into a nice player.

Something we already knew.

Mahomes staying in the AFC = Best News possible

Maybe pre COVID, don't see the point in doing that now

Possibly. He’s probably the only QB in the league right now due to age and ability to ask for that.

Yup, hopefully pryor can step up as well. Losing Brooks is a big loss.

Mahommes has no reason to wait. He was always going to be the bar regardless

This probably pisses off Chris Jones even more. I wonder if he will actually sit out.

I wonder if it’s the first $200M guaranteed deal.  10 years at $39M per year would be a huge deal — for both sides, really.
