Makes no sense...  we don't have a need at LT in this draft.

But all of a sudden a Jets beat guy uses him to boost their GM's cred, and it's an episode of Three's Company?

It does if the eagles don’t believe dillard is the guy you thought when you drafted him and after seeing him for a year.

This was discussed around the combine as well. And it was 4 different eagles beat writers who talked about it (Mclane, kempski, zangaro and McMullen and evening Dave zangaro said he’d been hearing it) and them not being thrilled

they don’t if they believe dillard is the guy. What if the reporters from 4 different beat writers about them being down on him is true and they don’t see him as that guy? Then they do. And it’s a draft with a ton of talent at the position. And you still have peters sitting out there to allow him to develop.

im not saying It’s true But it would make complete sense if stoutland doesn’t see it with dillard and he loves someone guys in this draft as much or more than dillard and the jets are willing to give you more value then you see currently with dillard.

The question is do the eagles see dillard as the same guy when they drafted him or have they already soured.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

I dont understand why anyone would care to do that, nor why anyone would care to prevent it from happening.

Or just hasn't seen the context yet from Metah's twitter feed.

Kempski has been pushing an anti-Dillard narrative for a while now - it was the centerpiece of his article today.

Their has to be a reason that there have been rumors surrounding the Eagles moving on from Dillard.  If they feel they can find his equivalent or better in this draft while also loading up some trade up ammo for CeeDee Lamb I'm all for it.  He could have 100% been a Joe Douglas guy and like mentioned earlier, Howie might want to get rid of JD guys and build his team.

He's also going to be 25 half way through the season.  I would much rather get a guy who is 21 and have that much more time with him to develop and grow.

If he drops 1 a game, but makes an impact all game with his speed, it doesnt seem like a big deal to me.

If he's dropping them in college at one per game,he had 12 last year...his drops wont improve in the nfl , and he will have more contested passes.

You see it in online games a lot. People boosting stats. Didn't think about it until now that you could use it on forums with an unlimited amount of likes:lol:

In fairness it wasn’t just kempski when the report came out. Berman said he had heard similar. Zangaro as well as McLane. You got about 4 beat writers and now McMullen. So 5. It’s not just jimmy kempski at this point.

he didnt have as many in the season prior. Maybe like Mims, he was dealing with some hand injury. Or, maybe his hands will improve in the NFL. No reason they cant. Either way, I think his positive impact will outweigh the negative.

As an early 200s WWE (WWF) fan I hated how they evolved Kane.  He was so good as a mysterious villain with no voice.

If the Eagles didn't think Dillard was their guy, they would have moved to retain either Vaitai or Peters.

I saw those reports - all based on rumor with no authentic sources listed. It would not be the first time that false rumors were started at the combine.

Not only that what if stoutland went to the eagles said i don’t see it with dillard and i can’t make him what you guys expected When you moved up.

if the eagles Do move on from dillard then i think stoutland is a big part of why from who he loves in this draft and what he sees working with dillard. If he believed dillard was that guy i don’t think the eagles remotely consider dealing him. Which still might be the case

Eric Allen, Byron Evans, seumalo, Mike Patterson and kendricks. (Id put Jordan Poyer who’s gone on to have a good career in buffalo. We should’ve kept him)

just pointing out last 15 years (2005 To present of pac 12 vs. big 12 vs. Sec vs big 10 Vs. acc with the best selected players

big 10 since 2005: miles sanders, Brandon graham, Kurt Coleman, beau allen, Nate gerry and Jason avant (Dennis Kelly)

last 15 years from Big 12 has been lane Johnson, maclin (big 12 at time), Stewart Bradley (big 12 at time), Hicks, Bryce brown and vaitai.

Last 15 years from ACC: mccoy (was big East then), maddox, sweat, Bunkley And Dion lewis

last 15 from pac 12: desean, ertz, foles, Dillard, kendricks, seumalo and Mike patterson (poyer who is a good safety in the nfl)

last 15 years SEC: cox, Logan, Matthews, Mills, Barnett, Chaney, Riley Cooper, Omar Gaither, Reggie brown, max jean-Gilles and king Dunlap.

That proves my point perfectly. Out of those SEC players, only Cox was a premier talent. I don't remember if GA was any good when brown was selected from there and barnett is very meh. Matthews of course was a mediocre player. And every other one of those guys is a 4th round pick or later. Mills and cox are the only ones to have any sustained success, and would you look at that even the 7th round pick from a perennial top 10 school has outperformed the others outside of Cox. No one is saying draft all SEC players, but it would be nice if they tried drafting some

There’s no denying that most of the talent comes from the SEC but to start the rah rah only SEC players chant is just lazy.

Good thing literally no one is saying that then.

Draft Projection

Round 2

Overview

Explosive slot target who hits the scales as a lightweight but could have heavyweight impact on games. Hamler's blazing speed is used solo and in route combinations to stress secondaries and create big plays. He had an alarming number of drops in 2019 and the routes are ragged, but his athleticism and separation burst on all three levels helps mitigate those concerns. He's a smallish slot who isn't built for the tough yardage and could have durability concerns if he's run into too many collisions. However, speed kills and his game-breaking potential on all three levels will be enticing as a high-risk, high-reward draft pick.

Strengths

Field stretcher from the slot

Explosive athletic ability with sub-4.40 speed

Showed press shake against Ohio State CB Jeff Okudah

Separation burst to open the passing window

Has glide-and-burst setup move to race past coverage

Deep speed to separate and stay separated

Route-running will eventually catch up with the athleticism

Run after the catch is electrifying

Darts and weaves for impressive make you miss

Ability for jet sweep and gadget packages

Weaknesses

Smallish body type could be concern for durability

Needs to tighten his turns to keep from drifting

Balance issues avoiding route redirection

Physical coverage wears on him underneath

Route stems are disjointed and labored

Lacks focus into traffic

Cradle catcher with troubling hand-eye coordination in 2019

Ball tracking needs work

When has there ever been authenticated sources listed for anything? It’s usually when there’s a ton of reporters putting it out there someone leaked it on purpose to them. Hence desean Jackson had ESP and then 2-3 other reporters also leaking info and then they released him.

They can still technically bring back Peters, but yeah, letting Vaitai go if you weren't sold on Dillard makes zero sense.

Vaitai got paid. He is more of backup imo.

Eh the point is more the eagles have Drafted a Fair amount from every conference when i went back 15 years. They haven’t been greatly superior one conference to another. Some better by not like the margins you’d think. No offense cox, Barnett and mills would be the top 3 drafted guys we have taken from the SEC over the 15 year period. I’d argue ertz, desean and foles/seumalo would be better than anyone not named cox in that group of 6. I’d rank them cox, ertz, desean, foles, Mills and Barnett. Could make the case mills over foles but imo foles every time he’s here has been successful

If I recall correctly, there wasn't even a claim that the information came from an Eagles' official.
