Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Yup.

If you didn't cut Cooper for what he said, you can't cut Jackson. It's that simple.

Cut?!?!?!? I’d be shocked if this were still a story 5 days from now.

BS. Because they messed up in handling Cooper years ago they have to handle this one incorrectly?

Nothing will happen to him past maybe a small fine. It doesn't fit the progressive agenda.

Cut his a** If a white guy said or did anything close to that right now he'd be on the street and out of the league.

This.

There's no way anyone could justify Ertz getting 99% of the snaps over Keith Jackson . Ertz would edge him out but Keith Jackson was a legitimate deep threat as a TE...which is not even heard of nowadays.  I could agree with Ertz getting something like a 70% of the snap ratio but not 99%....not vs Keith Jackson.

And I can't see anyone picking a clear side between Chad Lewis and Brent Celek...they almost mirrored each other in terms of playing style, with Celek being the slightly better blocker and Lewis being the slightly better receiver.  The edge would go to Celek, imo...but it's somewhat close.

Id take Jackson and Celek.

Jackson is just a good receiver as Ertz is and was better after the catch and a better blocker in the run game. Ertz out of the 4 is the worst blocker of the for.

Celek is the best blocket which is why id take him as my second TE, in his prime at his peak he was also a solid receiving TE with a season just shy of 1000 yards.

With jackson and celek id have two TEs that can block and also move all over the formation as flexed out or in line

Lewis would be my 3rd TE. Hes a good special teamer and while not a dominating blocker was a high effort blocker with good technique and a reliable target over the middle.

May seem harsh to Ertz but really hes a obe dimensional TE, hes really just a big slot receiver and while hes an elite receiver id want more balanced TEs that would give my offense more flexibility.

I wonder if the Eagles lawyers aren’t reviewing the personal conduct clause in Jackson’s contract.  That said, by giving Cooper a second chance, they may have to do the same with Jackson.  IIRC (sorry, IP...oops, sorry again), Cooper had to go to counseling.

Jackson will get some kind of slap on the wrist

Agreed.  Dude knows he's a dope.

And I'm willing to bet Lurie listened to him say basically the same thing to him and replied, "Sit down, press record, say what you just said to me, then post it."

Richie Incognito...

Why not? The NFL is supposed to be "woke", right?  Oh, you mean because they can't in this climate? Probably right. Do I really want him off the team? No. Am I pissed about the double standard? Absolutely.

He's still playing in the league...and Jonathan Martin isn't.

The NFL is in the winning business, not the morality business.

They didn't cut Cooper. That set precedent

He was probably ignorant to it all honestly. No way a black man posts anything Hitler says unless he is completely ignorant.

Yeah, you can keep trying to play that card, but it expired. This is a different time. I love people getting second chances, but it only goes one way right now.

The more frightening part of this are the responses of some people on Twitter to the story or "literature” that basically are defending the literature saying prove it’s not wrong When referring to the antisemitic part of it.

Also as amazing are the parts of the fan base telling joe banner on Twitter well you extended Riley Cooper and were Ok about keeping Riley cooper after dropping the N word. Cooper didn’t say what he did until July 2013. meanwhile joe was in Cleveland by October 2012 so he wasn’t even here when that whole incident went down nor did he extend his contract.

When facts are inconvenient, just ignore them.

Look even if Djax came to my house and call me a cracker arse cracker and asked me to forgive him afterwards I would. People say and do stupid things and sometime they do things in the heat of the moment. It's about forgiveness when we can people. Let's move on to the no season

The Hitler thing isn't the worst part. If he was quoting Bill from Home Depot the message about Jews is something that can be read and understood by pretty much anyone. Am I glad he will stay on the team? Yes. Do I think they should have cut him? Yeah, I do. I hope everyone gets this same kind of leniency going forward.

I'm Jewish so this is obviously frustrating to see, but I think this has more to do with stupidity than him actually hating Jews. Let's be honest here: a majority of athletes are just stupid. Intellectually, I don't view DeSean as the sharpest tool in the shed. He runs fast and is explosive, but I'm not going to ask him for his opinion on foreign relations or the economy. I think social media does weird things to people's heads. People who want to come across like they are smart or enlightened are going to put up a story for all to see of some highlighted text from a book to show, "Hey, I'm reading about important issues" without really diving into the context of what it means and who said it.

With that said, I don't think he should be cut. I think the precedent they set with Cooper already makes this easy for them. The backlash wouldn't be good. Personally, I'd like for DeSean to take initiative and learn more about Judaism. Meet with a rabbi, a teacher, other Jewish people, etc. to help educate himself. The same way that black people want white people to educate themselves on their history.

A picture/video is worth a thousand words.  It's clear he is being genuine and truly apologetic..... and although "not knowing" isn't an excuse nor is his "intention" an excuse, you can clearly see he did not know the ramifications of his comments nor what they meant.
