I realize it's a hypothetical on your part, but this doesn't make a lot of sense.  He wouldn't have been on the Eagles board (much less a round 1 target) if the developmental skills weren't there -- Stoutland would have had significant input in the trade-up decision.  Dillard didn't get into enough game action in his first season to damage his stock to that extent.  If people think he sucked at RT, then that's too bad.  Lane Johnson has played RT for 7 years and his ability or lack thereof to play LT has never affected his future with the Eagles -- translation: put Dillard at LT and leave him at LT if he stinks as a RT.

Whoever these beat writers are using as a source, I don't believe it's Stoutland, Pederson, Roseman, or anyone close to that level.  I guess we may see later tonight, though.

I have no problem with dillard first off. I’d keep him. However i also don’t think it’s out of the realm the eagles soured on him either.

we are also forgetting the eagles didn’t meet with dillard and even said they didn’t think he’d be there so they didn’t interview with him. So they went up and got a guy on their board that was considered a top player in that draft and trusted stoutland. But then after a year of having him in the facility might have swayed their opinion. Again this is a possibility.

It very could be a bunch of BS. I frankly think it’s smoke. but I also can’t completely rule out   The eagles are no longer as high on him as people on this very message board are. And to me it’d makes sense if they want to re-sign peters for a year to protect wentz and not a guy they don’t trust.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

OK how much of this is just BS or is Howie really up to something?  Is CeeDee his must have guy or do we get an Earl Thomas situation where it they trade up to 11 only to take a guard.

Well...  we all should know by now this is how it works hours before the draft.  And this year moreso than ever...  no team has had as much access to players as they wanted, so more rumors are going to pop up than normal as more GM's try and float things.

The result is everyone else (including the beat guys) =

I could see douglas. That would make sense. I could see the niners taking themselves into him being Sherman’s long term replacement as his size and length is similar.

Rasul and they give us a fifth and Godwin works for me.

People have not forgotten that all these trade up rumors started at the combine. With the Browns and Jets. Eagles have huge connections to those front offices.

We are hearing a huge run on tackles early. This could end up being a real scenario.

I do find it curious that Howie and the Eagles have not done a thing at WR this offseason.  It feels like they haven't even sniffed around the Free Agent WR's out there.   He didn't pull the trigger on any trades for a veteran.

Was that because Howie has known since February that he was going to make a big trade up for a WR in this draft?

I am very curious to see what the Eagles do tonight.

Or if Jeff stoutland doesn’t like dillard or what he saw or he wasn’t listening to him. The organization could have soured on him with his attitude and how he wasn’t responding to stoutland.

i think you guys overlook how much pull stoutland has with the oline. It could very well be stout Telling him after spending a year with him he doesn’t see it.

Again pure hypothetical at the moment. he could still love him. If they love him still none of this makes sense.

Exactly it doesn't take years to figure out if a kid has it or not. It can happen in training camp. Crying in camp definitely doesn't say mental toughness

I’m guessing using what would be our first, 2 seconds, 2 3rds on one (assuming he’s only dealing him for a 2nd and 3rd). This isn’t a light OT class. It’s actually pretty good and deep into the 3-4th round. If we got Ezra Cleveland or peart in round 2 or 3 I’d be happy. I think both have a bunch of upside. Cleveland imo with stoutland could be a really good LT.
Probably re-sign peters as well

i wouldn’t deal dillard. But this class isn’t a weak tackle class

Mailata is also on the team.

Excited for this year.  I hope the boards falls in our favor

Coincidentally, because of COVID-19 the Eagles haven't met with or interviewed anyone on the OL this offseason either.

Cant trust mailata. He’s missed time with back issues. I think they draft a tackle anyway in this draft. They need a backup swing tackle like they did with vaitai.

we dont know that.

He is the backup swing tackle even with those issues. I'm sure they will draft another if they see one though.

That’s not entirely true. They met with some before it. I believe Charles from LSU they met with prior to close down. But they also have interviewed a couple of tackles according to BLG (via zoom or Skype or whatever).

If they were to do this, Id hope its for Ruggs. Jeudy and Lamb are the better college players, but neither is anything like a generational talent worth this kind of move. Ruggs really isnt either but he at least has something truly elite athletically, and that aligns with the trait we need most.

And Id hope to be getting a Jets 3rd rounder back. Ruggs, and two 3rds can end up a real nice haul.

Agreed.  You simply can’t teach 4.2 speed and Ruggs has much more than just speed.  The guy can almost do it all.

Eh i don’t think he’s proven anything. He was a good developmental prospect. I’d be willing to bet they draft a backup swing tackle when dillard is the LT and lane is RT.

They met with Sadiq Charles

Most backup swing tackles haven't else they would be starting. Agree though.

Just wanted to let you know I have my Wentz jersey on for this occasion. New season. He is finally gonna stay healthy for a post season run with some legitimate WR talent.

I also just submitted the order for my custom authentic Higgins #15 jersey.

y'all gotta stop spelling Goodwin GODWIN.  Keep getting excited thinking he's available.  Wanted him badly in the draft a few years ago.

I wouldn’t read too much into those injuries.  They all happened to occur when the Eagles needed roster spots. 😉

I can't argue with you that you can't teach 4.2 speed but you also can't teach the instincts and RAC abilities that CeeDee possesses. Dude is an absolute monster after the catch.  The way he weaves in and out of traffic is so fun to watch.  Give me CeeDee if he's there.  If not Ruggs is fine.

Also congrats on 100 pages in what 2 days fellas?
