There is a "Black” Twitter?  I didn’t know that.  I just thought there was one Twitter.  I guess since about all I follow on Twitter is Eagles, UH and PSU football (and basketball for UH), I must be on Green, Red and Blue Twitters. Is Black Twitter Steelers and Raiders fans?

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Did you also have a survivor giving the tour?

Yes, but that was decades ago.  Very few left now.

A day after Brees said he didn't agree with disrespecting the flag during the national anthem, and many athletes including Brees' New Orleans Saints teammates blasted him, Sharpe had his say. On FS1's "Undisputed,” Sharpe said he doesn't respect Brees anymore, and that Brees should "probably retire.”

Los Angeles (AFP) - The wife of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said on Sunday they received death threats over his comments about athletes protesting during the American national anthem.

"Until we experienced the death threats, we experienced the hate, did I realize that these words were speaking directly to us. How could anyone who knows us or has had interactions with us think that Drew or I have a racist bone in our body?" Brittany Brees wrote in a social media post.

There is plenty more of that to go around. I’d say it’s pretty safe to say his name was smeared.

The reaction,  or lack of reaction I should say, from the media and the NFL players to Jackson’s comments are pretty eye opening in comparison.

It was the timing of Drew Brees' comment that caused such a huge backlash.  Had he said literally the same thing 4 weeks later, no one would have batted an eye.  (Or at least it  would have been much more civilized)

At any age.

Where was the initial vitriol towards DeSean in the same manner from the likes of Malcolm Jenkins who were so quick to jump all over Brees? I must have missed it.

What DeSean posted was far worse then Brees giving his personal opinion on the anthem and flag.

I’m not comparing the two things, but if you don’t think there is outrage and vitriol toward Jackson, you aren’t paying attention.

And what the hell does Jenkins have to do with DJax? It’s not his responsibility to comment on every matter of racism or ignorance.

It's interesting if you have siblings and compare. Found and met a long lost cousin through it

They keep updating the app too

I think the timing certainly matters a great deal, but I wouldn’t say no one would have batted an eye though.

That's at the very end.   Gives a sense of scale in a way that merely posting a number just never will.

I went to the Holocaust Museum in D.C. back about 10 years ago.  It's a very well designed museum.  It starts with a 'news room' and every thing is very widely spaced, then as you descend (the museum tour starts at the top of the building) the spacing decreases, the colors darken, the mood changes as the atrocities are unveiled floor by floor.   You can't go through that museum and not come away affected.  That said, I'm not sure it's a museum I'd 'want' to visit again.  But, it is a museum that I will be taking my son to soon.  He's entering 9th grade, so the time is just about right.  They will likely be reading "Night" as part of his education this year, so the school might take a field trip (if that's even allowed), if not I will organize it for him and maybe a few of his classmates.

I think it would have been more along the lines of "civilized debate” vs people threatening him, etc etc.

Interesting the study that suggests Type O blood are 35% less likely to suffer severe COVID-19 and people with Type A are 45% more likely to suffer severe Covid-19.  With sports science, the teams likely know players blood type.

I'm in the middle of Chiefs country. It's kind of funny that back in the NFL/AFL days my teams were the Eagles and Chiefs. After the merger i had to pick one but the Vermeil and AR connection makes it enjoyable to watch both.

True. It was nice seeing Big Red finally win a championship and ive never had any problems with the chiefs. One of my favorite players as a kid was the Nigerian Nightmare Christian Okoye, dude was unstoppable on tecmo bowl😊

Is that true?    Wow.   That's good news for my family then.  We are all O.

My father-in-law was tested yesterday.  He was suffering from fever and chills on Sunday night.  We all hung out at my sister in law's on Saturday to celebrate the 4th.  We were separated, but not overly separated.   So, we are waiting to hear the results.   He believes the issue is related to some prescription drugs.   We'll see.  Meanwhile... we are all quarantining ourselves now until we hear.

Its not on Jenkins to fight for all injustice all the time, but you have people like those in this thread that try to invalidate what he’s fighting for because he’s not fighting for everyone? F off...

Wheres "black” twitter? LOL

And now I am done with politics.

I recently read that people with a vitamin D deficiency are more likely to have more severe Covid symptoms. You can have a simple blood test to determine if you do.

I’m glad I started taking extra vitamin D since we’re stuck inside.

Yay.   If only everyone would make that pledge.

If he doesn't accept then can I go? That would be a great tour IMO

I did 23andMe. I was surprised by some the results. Also did the health thing.

I suggest if you can do it then go do it. you read it in history books Or taught it in a class room or watch a movie like schindlers list but it doesn’t have the Same gravity or magnitude (even though it should) that seeing it first hand has.

There’s not as many holocaust survivors left as time has passed but if you get the chance to talk to and listen to one of them it’ll stick with you forever and you’ll be grateful (couldn’t come up with a better word off the top of my head) you did.

Why are you 'stuck inside'?   Go outside and get some sun.... just stay away from other people.    I go in my back yard all the time.   In fact, I am 'darker' (redder, not really tan... I don't really tan because of the whole Irish blood line thing) than I normally am.   Garden is thriving.  Above ground pool gets a daily swim with the canine.  Put up a pergola to spend some time in the shade in the evening while smoking some meats (tonight's plan is a pork loin).

It’s 93 with 75 percent humidity where I live. Being outside sucks right now unless I’m in a pool.

I do have to force myself out more. I just work from home now with not much need to go out and not much of a yard.

Im also in Vegas currently. 110 is not very fun.

I hear ya.   Its the same today in Southeast PA.  The air is thick.  BUT... that doesn't mean that one can't get some exposure outside, even if it sucks to be out there.  I spent an hour mowing the lawn this morning before the sun came out... it was hot humid and gross.  I needed a shower after wards.  Then went out to look at the garden and started sweating a ton again.  But, there's early morning and late late afternoon to get some time outdoors to help with vitamin D.   Back in the old days, everyone spent everyday outside, because there was no A/C.  Nothing wrong with a little sweat now and then, in fact, its likely healthier to do that than to sit indoors in A/C constantly, especially in terms of air circulation.

Could be worse. Expected to be 105 or hotter the next 6 days here with 30 percent humidity. With Saturday and Sunday being record highs of 111 and 113.

I hear ya.  Even if its just a chair on a small porch or something.  Just get a daily dose of sunshine.   I was working from home for weeks once schools shut down.   I did a few mornings on the laptop outside, when the wind wasn't too bad.
