For what it's worth...

I've been going through my collection of old Eagles videos/tapes/whatever, just trying to sort them out and organize them properly. I took a look at the '68 season highlights the other day. It was a brutal season, but it was the year I became a fan so it's kind of special to me in a morbid kind of way. In the video, there is a clip of the infamous Santa Claus at the season ending Vikings game. I gotta tell you, he was nothing like the narrative that has developed over the past decade or so, that of a someone in a poorly outfitted costume. No, he wasn't like that at all. He was precisely the correct image, the kind you would see at a shopping mall in December.

Sure, it's annoying when fans around the country remind us of the incident. But I think it's better to admit it actually happened than to argue that it was somehow justified because the guy was in a crappy suit with a lousy beard.

Hmm.  Feels like we've finally cut the cord.  Floating out in the ether. Anger at the faceless dismissal and marginalization of it's own fans by PE.com. But extreme gratitude for guys l

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

His doubling down with the "im the victim" post doesn't help anything either.

I am going to bury myself in BBQ videos on Youtube and imagine what it would be like if everyone could just get together over a fire with meat cooking.  I'll even throw on some veggies for those poor souls who want to be vegetarian or even vegan.

The social media storms from these situations aren't going to fix anything.  Its just going to get any side to entrench in their point of view.

I believe it is Man Fire Food night on the Cooking Channel tonight. Would love to be one of Mooking’s crew.  Just pay me in Que.

If Brees’ timing on comments about respecting the flag were insensitive, and I believe they were, so were Goodwin’s..

It sucks, but at least you don’t have to deal with the winter. It’s a great trade off imo.

It really is. About the only reason i stay. From like end of September to mid May it’s awesome weather. Also doesn’t hurt the average cost of living is still rather inexpensive compared to other parts of the county.

I did pulled pork yesterday. Prepped it and rubbed the night before. Day started out overcast so I smoked it on the grill for four hours to 160 degrees and then finished it in the Instant Pot with a cup of apple juice.  Made an eastern Carolina cider vinegar sauce and since I had the Instant Pot out, I carmelized a bunch of onion.  Good eating.  Fajitas tomorrow or Friday with veggies, including some from the garden and maybe some fresh jalapeño slices.

You reminded me, I have a pork loin in the freezer.   Got to plan for that.

Not going with the pulled pork for this loin.  This will just be sliced.  Taking it to about 145.    I have a picnic shoulder for pulled pork.  The loin is smaller, so quicker to defrost.    And while we are discussing this... I need to say... use of a sous vide cooker to circulate water around a frozen hunk of meat is an amazingly fast way to defrost large cuts.  (just be sure that the meat is in a cryo bag, or double bag it to make sure the meat doesn't end up water logged.)

Ive been thinking about getting a sous vide cooker just for thawing meat but ive never used a sous vide cooker just seen them on cooking shows, so im a bit hesitant to get one.

Wrong. Its a stupid question by Goodwin. He can see the backlash at DeSean and is inviting it upon himself and then acting confused.

It is a GREAT investment.   Literally the easiest and most fail safe way to cook a steak and pretty much anything else, for that matter.   Cook, hold at temp until you are ready... sear and eat.

Also the best way to reheat nearly anything without causing the food to be overly dried out like so many other methods.

yeah he is uneducated

We tend to forget how uneducated athletes, actors and musicians are for the most part, for every Jodie Foster, there's a dozen idiots who started mastering their craft at a young age and rarely crack a book, even when they were in college (anyone who's taught college knows how bad the bottom third of a typical class is, and these are mostly people on the right side of the bell curve!).

It amazes me in this day and age, with Google at your fingertips (and Google Scholar for those who really want to go in-depth) that people can't take 5-10 minutes to scroll through a few sites and check stuff out, like how Farrakhan is a malicious fool.

But after the stupidity from the GO, and all the idiots running around claiming they have a Constitutional Right not to wear a mask (like they have ever read the Constitution or know the origin of the Bill of Rights), I have to be generous to Djax - part of being "Woke" is accepting that black people can be as stupid and ignorant as white people.

Disagree, dialogue should always be welcome

Shutting down or devaluing peoples opinions, feelings, experiences is never the answer.

We all serve a role in that conversation, these guys are just playing a very, very ignorant role

No, what he was suggesting in his response was that those speaking out against DJax aren’t doing the same for Black Lives Matter. It’s whataboutism coupled with hypocrisy. That doesn’t spark dialogue or further the conversation.

This would have been the proper response:
