I tuned them out years ago.  Mike Golic is very unlikable.   He’s very smug when it comes to the fans.  If his son is worse than I’m sure he’s pretty bad.

I tuned them out when they put that fiddle player on the air with them.  I didn’t usually have a problem with Golic but it seemed like he took about 100 days per year off.  Greenberg was, and still is, dreadful

My wife is taking a continuing ed class on remote learning at the K-6 level.  It's offered through NC State.  There are more than 7,000 teachers taking the class and they're from all over the world.  Teachers are really uncertain about how to manage kids in these environments.  I mean one proposal in NC is to have a 3 week rotation with 1/3 attending and 2/3 doing remote learning.  The problem is that the teacher still has to teach all of the kids.  So they will be running remote and in-person teaching at the same time.  It's going to be difficult.

That's the only thing I am sure of.    I ran a continuing ed class remotely for NCSU.  But, it was for physics teachers and took place in the Spring Semester, so I'm guessing your wife wasn't part of it.  Not many K-6 Physics teachers around... plus that class is over, so there's the whole space-time continuum thing about it not fitting in the right time window.   But alas... yes, it will be hard.  But, teachers will do it, because we have no other choice.

I like the idea but I think it’s risky. That name could get the cancel treatment too, eventually. I’m guessing they just end up doing something more generic

At some point everything is going to be at risk to the cancel culture until we tell them to shut the hell up. It will literally never stop.

Here are some other quotes from Louis Farrakhan, the author of the quote:

"The Jews, a small handful, control the movement of this great nation, like a radar controls the movement of a great ship in the waters. … The Jews got a stranglehold on the Congress."
–Louis Farrakhan, Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, Feb. 25, 1990

"The Jews, a small handful, control the movement of this great nation, like a radar controls the movement of a great ship in the waters. … The Jews got a stranglehold on the Congress."
–Louis Farrakhan, Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, Feb. 25, 1990

"We can now present to our people and the world a true, undeniable record of the relationship between Blacks and Jews from their own mouths and pens. These scholars, Rabbis and historians [that Nation of Islam researchers studied] have given to us an undeniable record of Jewish anti-Black behavior, starting with the horror of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, plantation slavery, Jim Crow, sharecropping, the labor movement of the North and South, the unions and the misuse of our people that continues to this very moment.”
–Letter sent by Louis Farrakhan to Jewish leaders and the Southern Poverty Law Center, June 24, 2010

"Pedophilia and sexual perversion institutionalized in Hollywood and the entertainment industries can be traced to Talmudic principles and Jewish influence. Not Jewish influence, Satanic influence under the name of Jew.”
–Louis Farrakhan, Saviours’ Day speech, Chicago, Feb. 17, 2019

None of these quotes have little to do with Zionism.  They have to do with a fantastical view that Jewish people are actually not people.  That they are engaged in some worldwide conspiracy to subjugate and punish blacks in America.  Further, that black people are the actual people of God not the "white Jews."  If you don't think the quote was anti-semitic, it is because you have willfully ignored the text of the quote, the actual source of the quote and who is purported to have said the quote.

Ok you can choose to find what desean quoted anti semitic and i can choose not to.

What im going to choose not to do is ring the anti semitic alarm 5 mili seconds after some one posts something without trying to digest it.

Ive digested it to the point i think i have have indigestion i dont find the actual quote on its face anti semitic.

Reading the whole book i could see that but i have no desire to read the whole book nor do i think desean had or maybe he did i dont know what he was thinking nor care to really.

Please tell me how the Tuskeegee Airmen would be 'cancelled'?    Personally, I think we should just vote anyone 'offended' by the Tuskeegee Airmen off the island.  The tribe has spoken.  Extinguish that torch.

That's not what he said...

You ever think people would be demanding the name of Washington to be taken off everything and the monument be taken down? Some pacifistic group  is going to complain red tails glorify violence or war culture or whatever the hell people are raving about next. Likely? Hopefully not, but you asked and that's probably how.

I work for sales for a company that is geared towards selling a certain type of food to K-12 nutrition programs.  NC is just one state in my territory but is my largest, by far.  Let’s just say if the kids are virtual for a large portion of the year.  I most likely lose my job.  Our product is individually wrapped and all domestic.  So we are positioned nicely for the future, as long as it includes in person classes.

My school still provided two meals a day M-F for all kids (18 and under) in the district that showed up to pick up their meals on time.  Individually wrapped items were the preferred items for distribution.  They put everything together in a little box and handed out the boxes as 'contactless' as possible.    I was proud of my school (and the district I live in) for doing that.  It wasn't limited to just 'Free and Reduced' Lunch program kids.  It was open to any kid, and they had distribution points at each school in the district, each elementary school, middle school and high school.   It was a nice thing, and there were some kids who didn't qualify at the beginning, that would have qualified by the end.  And I know that while the meals weren't anything great, they were one less thing for parents to worry about.  So, maybe they were great after all.

You would want to punch your TV if you listened to his son.  Mike Golic at least had a few funny moments years ago when his schtick was to act aloof like he was a complete dufus.  His son attempts to be just like his dad, and it's awkward to no end.

Why punch the TV if he's on the radio?   That's like kicking the dog because the cat left you a 'present' in the middle of the carpet.

His "radio" show is still on ESPN2's Golic and Wingo.  He's basically the 3rd wheel and routinely takes his dad's place, so I guess you could call him a radio/tv personality.

Why tuskegee isnt tuskegee in Alabama?

Thats pretty far away from Maryland no?

And?   Is there an NFL franchise in Alabama.

Are Lions native to Detroit?  Vikings to Minnesota?  Patriots exclusive to Boston... or New England?  Any Bears roaming around downtown Chicago?  Rams in LA?  Titans in Tennessee?

Once upon a time there were bears in chicago. Maybe Mt Lions or maybe henry ford liked lions. Boston consider themselves patriots because of that time they dumped tea😉

Rams was originally st louis not sure there were rams in missouri back in the day, not much to climb.

Titans is subjective term

Just wondering if there is some kind of connection to tuskegee airman to maryland???

Like the 76ers has purpose and the 49ers or the lakers when in minnesota or the jazz in new orleans.

I like the tuskegee airman who doesnt just curious as the reasoning behind it?

Vote those idiots off the island, too.   Washington could have been king here if he wanted to be.  His officers almost tried to make it happen, and it was Washington that stopped that nonsense.   As King George said (paraphrased) "If he gives up that power [Commander in Chief of the army], then he really is the greatest man in the world."

So... Kick those fools to the curb.  The Red Tails were fighting the NSDAPs in Europe, as well as prejudice within the US Army Air Corps ranks.

It's time for morons to learn their history and not judge history by today's standards, but by the standards of their day.  Washington wasn't perfect, he never claimed to be.  But, he was the perfect General at the perfect time.  He was the perfect President to set the precedent.  He was the one who offered legitimacy to the Constitutional Convention. Without him, this nation never gets off the ground.

The reasoning behind going to the Red Tails would be to honor men that didn't get the honor they deserved at the time.

As for the Rams... you really need to learn some history of sports.    They started in Cleveland, moved to LA, then to St. Louis, then back to LA.   The point is... the city doesn't NEED to have a connection to the team name.  Lakers left Minnesota, should have left the name behind, in your worldview.  Same for the Jazz in Utah.  Or the Flames in Calgary (they started in Atlanta, which is really a weird name for them to have taken on).

The connection is that the United States Defense Department set-up the Airmen, and placed them in Tuskeegee.  So, if you NEED a connection, all military units have a connection to Washington D.C.

Shoot man i miss football and arguing on here about Todd pinkstons value to the team😉

See above.  Allows them to maintain the color scheme, gets them on the 'right side' of the current trend, and actually honors men that deserved far better than they got at the time.

Incidentally, I will share that while I was in high school, we brought in a member of the Tuskeegee Airmen to speak to the seniors and juniors (our auditorium wasn't big enough to hold all 4 classes), and the honors society kids were invited to a luncheon with him afterwards.   I was fortunate enough to have a chance to really chat with him for about 5 minutes.  The most fascinating part about him as a person was that it was never about him as an individual, it was never about what the "Red Tails" did, or any of that, but it was "about doing what was right, no matter the cost" (his words).  I asked about his reception when he got home, and he said (paraphrased - it was a LONG time ago) "I didn't do it for the glory or the pat on the back.  I never asked for that, I never wanted that.  I did it because it was the right thing to do."    He truly was one of the most humble heroes I ever met.   He reminded me a great deal of my own grandfather - who spent the war island hopping in the Pacific with MacArthur.  I saw the medals he won after he passed.  He never talked about them.  He just showed me the pictures he had of the natives he met along the way and told me the 'fun stories'.  I found out the rest about him far too late.
