My point is that his attempt to apply pressure is going to fall on deaf ears because the average Joe doesn’t relate and further, in his interactions with the average Joe he doesn’t value them the same.

Sorry about the job.  Hopefully things don’t get that bad.

That’s not how I took your initial post. It sounded to me like you you wanted him and other players to accept whatever is given to them because every day folks have it worse. I don’t believe that’s something he should have to take into account.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Not sure about that.  Both of my kids have been to the Holocaust museum. My daughter has been to Anne Frank’s house and Auschwitz. She has seen the Shoes on the Danube. She has read several books on the Holocaust.  I think at the least, most of these kids were exposed to it in history classes.

I would expect nothing less from your children. But I will stick with my original post in that most do not know and do not care.

Hey Malik, most of the rest of us in America have been dealing with these issues for months, fear of the disease is not an excuse not to go to work unless you have a health issue is what my wife was told by the unemployment office. We're all scared and we all have to support our families and we have to do it with a lot less cash then 1 or 2 years of your salary.

A lot of these athletes are tone deaf and have crap for brains. It’s OK to feel this way if you are him, but to post it on social media is idiotic, will fall on deaf ears and will not be taken well by the general public.

Ok you can choose to find what desean quoted anti semitic and i can choose not to.

What im going to choose not to do is ring the anti semitic alarm 5 mili seconds after some one posts something without trying to digest it.

Ive digested it to the point i think i have have indigestion i dont find the actual quote on its face anti semitic.

Reading the whole book i could see that but i have no desire to read the whole book nor do i think desean had or maybe he did i dont know what he was thinking nor care to really.

Either words have meaning or they don't.  It's not that hard.

Weak.  My interpretation of this is that your opinion is WA/CLE/KC, etc. changing names is due to rascals throwing tantrums.

I have not been following the thread closely so I could be completely wrong about why you are making this statement

I work for sales for a company that is geared towards selling a certain type of food to K-12 nutrition programs.  NC is just one state in my territory but is my largest, by far.  Let’s just say if the kids are virtual for a large portion of the year.  I most likely lose my job.  Our product is individually wrapped and all domestic.  So we are positioned nicely for the future, as long as it includes in person classes.

I think the good news for you is the state has already funded schools as if they are going to be in session.  I also thing some of the meal funding comes from Federal grant money.  So the school districts should have the money to spend regardless of whether kids are attending classes.

Lost me when he brought up struggling to put food on the table. He's got millions. There's people that are actually struggling

It was just a joke. It was a callback to 4for4 and others making fun of that saying getting tossed around incessantly during the NFL Draft.

That part was the only thing I had issue with as well.

Millionaires shouldn't fight with billionaires on social media.

I don't separate them. Both are still making a ton more than the average person

So Malik s publicly applying pressure to the NFL for the best possible deal for the players. I see absolutely no issue with that.

This is coming from someone now going on 90 days of being furloughed with my career possibly gone.

I am sorry to hear about your job.

Yes, I have no problem with players negotiating with the owners on these things but there's nothing to be gained by posting about it on social media.

I have nothing to add right now. I just wanted a post on page 1000.

Lurie has to feed his family too. Has he thought of that??? Owners are struggling just as much as he is. (yes its a joke, none of them should be struggling if they were smart with their money)

In the end if he or any other player doesn't feel safe then he can opt out to play. If the NFL does not play in the end the players should not get paid. So you might have to sell that fancy car or your $10k suits to put food on the table. You are paid to do a job, if they don't have a job for you, you don't get paid. How it works in the real world and is what the real worl folks are going through themselves right now. Join the real world.

The problem with school openings, like everything else, isn't whether we should do it, but HOW we should do it.

The GO doesn't care, because he doesn't care if anyone gets sick and dies - that's been clear since March.

However, local school districts, for either political and/or moral reasons, aren't thrilled with the prospect of 20% of their teachers coming down with COVID, even if only a few children die.

There is no way to protect your teachers if they spend 6-8 hours a day in full classrooms, crowded halls, etc., from getting the virus - we know those are the kind of environments that are conducive to spread, and good luck getting children to abide by mask rules for an entire school day.

So even though children are less likely to catch, spread or become seriously ill, given the number of children in a typical school, protecting teachers and staff will be difficult.

Ya beat me to it😀

Not a good look when owners and players put crap like this out there while millions of people are having to go back to work under even worse conditions and for a hell of a lot less money. A little self awareness goes a long ways........

I agree except the majority of nfl athletes arent millionaires.
